All of the comforts of home in a perfect location

The room sizes were perfect for a large group and all the bedrooms felt special so no one was compromised on space or comfort. Having an en suite/bathroom for each bedroom was an added bonus.

We planned a Sunday roast for 10 people but there aren’t enough large pans to cook large quantities of vegetables so we went out and bought a steamer from Lakeland. Also, the bowls we tiny- we made homemade soups and big pasta dishes for our large group, but the bowls we tiny and not even suitable for cereal in the morning - luckily the charity shop had a dinner service for sale. Small things which affected us (not greatly) and probably wouldn’t bother someone else. Neither of these things would put us off visiting again - we’d just bring a few extras with us - everything else was perfect.

Beautiful house, brilliant location

Very clean house with a very well-equipped kitchen. The house is beautifully decorated and styled but there are a couple of things that need a bit of TLC in the bathroom in the small bedroom, and we couldn’t lock or unlock the back door from outside. I’ve messaged the property about this so they will hopefully be fixed now.

Parking was a bit tricky because of the large boulder at the back door. I know it’s there to stop anyone running into the wall of the house, but might be best if it were painted white to make it more noticeable.

Unforgettable experience

The facility was spacious, exceptionally clean, and fully equipped—from the two living rooms and the kitchen to the bedrooms, which included four master suites and one additional room with a private external bathroom. The location is outstanding too, walking distance to the main lake, groceries and restaurants. I can't thing of something better

Nothing that I didn't like at all. But if there one thing to add to the perfect set up will the Shattaf (bidet shower)in the toilet

Brilliant family getaway

Lovely spacious, comfy rooms and a brilliant location for exploring. The kitchen was brilliant for family cooking and socialising. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed for longer.

Although dog friendly, the garden and yard aren't secure. Bring a pen to block off the gate and ensure dogs can go outside safely. Not a huge issue, but this is the only holiday home we've stayed in that doesn't offer a welcome pack, especially considering the price and loveliness of the property.

Superb

I booked the house for my immediate family of 6 adults and 2 children to stay for a week. We attended a family wedding at one of the local hotels at the weekend. The location was perfect and the house was absolutely beautiful. The only thing it lacked was a downstairs toilet. Also the dining room chairs are a bit rickety and my young grandson would have had a nasty accident if one of us had not caught the chair toppling backwards, he was not climbing on the chair. Apart from this the accommodation was very well equipped but we thought the price for the week was rather steep.

As above, lack of downstairs toilet especially for young children and dining room chairs need changing. The bathrooms could do with shelves or cabinets to store toiletries

Amazing break in an amazing location!

Amazing location, less than a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bowness. The house is incredible, so spacious and every bedroom is lovely. Every room has a television and it's own bathroom with 4/5 as an ensuite. The top floor bedroom with the bath was our favourite! The kitchen/diner is a great entertaining space and so lovely for family dinners. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of cutlery, glassware, pots, pans, chopping boards etc. Being dog friendly was such a bonus too!!

After reading the other reviews we were expecting a welcome pack and after staying in other accommodations we have always received one so we were slightly disappointed to have not been greeted with one. We found there was not enough toilet roll for everyone for 4 days - had to buy this ourselves. We just thought there should have been more than 1 roll in each bathroom. We didn't know how to use the speaker in the kitchen either which was a shame. The coffee maker looked great but no coffee pods were provided to make use of it. But none of this would ever put us off coming back!

having to be out of the property by 9.00 am was a bit unreasonable, especially as we had to strip our own bedding and bring down with towels. should have been. later checkout.

Exceptional

The Firs is a beautiful property. My family and I had a lovely break at Christmas with lots of room for us all and very spacious bedrooms. Staff kept in touch by text messages if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this property it is in a perfect position to get out in Bowness and it is a very clean and comfortable house.

Lovely house, very clean with everything you need. Great location. Would definately stay again.

Loved the massive kitchen and the fact that four out of five bedrooms had ensuite facilities. There were nine adults staying in the property and there was plenty of room so that we didn't feel as if we were living on top of one another. The location was excellent with just a short walk to Bowness. Had parking for two cars.

Would have liked a downstairs cloakroom as had elderly parents with us and they had to keep climibing the stairs to get to the toilet which they found difficullt. That was the only downside.

Gorgeous property, perfect for a big family or a group of friends

Gorgeous property, with plenty of space for a big group. Great kitchen with a big table, perfect for big dinners. Excellent location, only a 2min walk into Bowness, with access to lots of cafes, shops etc.

The property doesn't have a washing machine.
