Really enjoyable stay only wish we could have stayed a couple of more days. Excellent.

Excellent Location only a few minutes walk in to Bowness ,plenty of bars/restaurants to enjoy. Easy to travel to Ambleside and Grasmere via the boats on lake Windermere and bus travel. The owners where really nice and friendly and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

Lovely comfortable accomodation in a great location

It was a lovely house in a very good location with easy walking access to the town of Bowness . Our room was very spacious, warm and comfortable. 2 armchairs made the seating very comfortable. Our hosts had worked very hard to make our stay memorable. The dining room was very welcoming and the breakfast satisfying and pleasant.

Everything was very good. Perhaps the alternatives to a full English breakfast could have been a bit fuller.

Excellent 2 night stay.

Excellent all round. Lovely fresh breakfast made with the finest local ingredients. We were in room 6 on floor 2. Room was spotless, comfortable bed and a good bathroom. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is an easy 5 minute walk to bowness centre. A huge plus is the free onsite parking. Will definitely return.

Beautiful guest house with lots of charm! Fab room overlooking beautiful gardens. Room was very spacious and extremely clean. Breakfast was really nice and always served with a smile 😊 Hai and Lan were brilliant hosts!

Brilliant place to stay

The location is spot on literally a 5 minute walk where the lakes, shops and restaurants are. Room was great and breakfast was impressive. Staff were great. Parking for the car which is a must for me. Iron and board in the room including a mini fridge. Would 100% come back and stay here. Loved the lakes and will come back.

location location location

dene house was run down room , property is being sold so no money being invested in the property. staff asked various guests even us on deperture day could we leave earlier then stated so they could clean room.. please change the booking out time insted of asking to leave earlier. sick off asking for various items at breakfast every day. The hosts did not engage with us.... one girl never spoke to us just gave us a thumbs up when seving us and other guests. what a waste of money.

Lovely stay would highly recommend

It’s a beautiful building, situated in the perfect location which was peaceful yet, only a couple of minutes walk from all the local shops/pubs/restaurants and is kept very clean and tidy. Everything you’d want and expect for the very reasonable price and the owners were lovely and welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights and found it very comfortable (especially the bed) and peaceful. Was great that a fan was provided as it was warm weather so that came in handy. Breakfast was spot on, we chose to have a full English which was cooked to perfection. Parking spaces on site also so you’re not having to worry about tickets. Would definitely look to book Dene House again next time we’re back in the lakes. Location, comfort and price… you’ll struggle to find better than this. Thank you for having us.

Very close to the lake

The ladies that worked there had no people skills at all,didnt talk to you just gave you the thumbs up!! The man was very nice tho. The first morning they had cut the hash browns in half,so we had half a hash brown,then we all got one each every day but on the last day i had 2.... dont make sence. We asked for the room to be cleaned 3 days but it never got cleaned and the bed was only made once. The only thing that was done was gave us some milk pots and toilet roll. There was leaflets says things to do so we see a leaflet there for an old working farm, so drove 50 mins to it to find out it had been closed since covid. When we got back to the hotel i told the lady about it saying she should take leaflets out so know one else does the same thing, but later that day she had just left the leaflet outside on table i gave her and took 2 days for her to take off the display! Then the morning we was leaving the lady said could you please check out at 10 and not 10.30 as we are busy (but the morning before we heard her say the same thing to other people). So if its 10 they want you to check out the should put that.

Perfect stay - highly recommended

Great location, easy to find, parking no problem. Room was well appointed, light and airy and super comfortable. Bedding was lovely quality and we slept so well. Really friendly hosts and breakfast was perfect. Would definitely return. Thanks so much.

Absolutely lovely and large, comfortable rooms - Highly recommend a stay at the Dean House!

We stayed at the Dean House for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it. The rooms were huge, very clean and decorated beautifully. We were all very comfortable and the rooms were the largest we had during our entire 2-week trip throughout the UK. The house was very quiet and peaceful - we never heard any other guests. The location was fantastic as well and just right down the street from the main area of Bowness and a short walk to the lake. The bathrooms were private and very clean. The hosts were very nice, took great care in preparing breakfast in the mornings and helped us to schedule a taxi for our departure.

There's nothing about our stay we didn't like other than it was quite expensive because we are a family of 3 adults and had to reserve 2 rooms. However, the price for each room was very reasonable if that's all you need. Unfortunately, we found it very hard to find rooms anywhere that accommodate more than 2 adults.

Our visit to the Lake District.

The closeness of the facilities in Bowness on Windermere within walking distance from the Guest House. The warm friendly welcome from the Host on arrival. Excellent breakfasts during our stay. Comfort and cleanliness of the room with Tea and coffee facilities. The fact that there was parking on site was a bonus too.

Excellent place to stay

We stayed for 2 nights in this guest house and thought it was excellent value for money from the breakfast which was freshly cooked with some buffet options of cereal, fresh fruit and juices, the location and the room amenities. The room had a fan which was useful during the hot weather, a mini fridge and items like cotton buds, pads etc in the bathroom. The hosts were also great and allowed us to check in early and also recommended some places to visit. We will definitely return to stay here.
