Nice, but not worth the cost.

Well furnished room, crisp linen, and comfortable bed. Location is great, and there is plenty of parking, which felt secure.

The carpet in the bedroom was dirty and a fair bit of mould in the bathroom. There is no privacy curtain in the garden room bedroom. The bedroom door did not close with ease - nor silently, so it created unnecessary noise. I noticed this same issue with the door in the next room. Parking charge is excessive for guests.

A luxury weekend away for birthday celebrations that didn’t disappoint

Friendly welcome and interactions with all staff was to a very high standard. Impeccable service

In our room it was disappointing to find there was no fridge in which to keep purchases refrigerated until our departure There are no side lights for night reading and the wall lights could not be switched off without getting out of bed - there was a switch by the side of the bed which had no functionality.

Bar area, the garden areas, comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff.

The view from our room was scaffolding, buckets and planks of wood. Dirty windows in many places, especially looking out of the breakfast dining area. We could not understand why at breakfast time all the food & drink is ‘crammed’ into a small corner of such a large room making it difficult to get to anything with so many people try to get their food.

An imposing building but a very average hotel.

Have stayed several times before. The reception areas and lounges etc are very attractive and comfortable. I prefer the buffet breakfast now offered rather than table service which takes longer.

Central heating radiator in bedroom wouldn't come on and the room was too cool. The main disappointment was the dinner menu which was just pub food. I had the chicken supreme which was tasteless, the sauce in particular tasted of nothing. Consequently we only had one dinner out of our 4 night's stay at the Belsfield. I left an item of clothing behind (a satin nightdress). The next day I rang the hotel who said they would check lost property and ring me back. When they didn't I rang again and was told they were looking for it. It can only have been in the bedroom. I never heard back and did not recover my nightdress. Guests' property "disappearing" is not acceptable in a hotel. We asked for two Irish coffees in the lounge one evening but were told there was no cream! Really?

The location is great at the city centre. Unfortunately I did not get the room with a view to the lake due to some reconstruction work in some parts of the hotel but overall it was a good experience.

There are so strict about the check out time which is too early at 11:00 am and if you do not leave on time they will be an extra charge of £25 for every extra hour which they don’t tell during check in. The breakfast was ok.

Nice hotel, beautiful views, great location but a little over priced for what it is!

Location is perfect, staff were mostly friendly and grounds are well kept, I liked the gesture of a free drink if you don’t have your room cleaned. The bar area is a lovely place to sit and have a drink! Breakfast is served at a good time and there was a good selection of food! Hotel room did have good facilities!

Hotel room was a little run down, mainly the bathroom, water marks all over the walls and broken bath panel! Hotel room also didn’t look as “grand” and luxurious as the pictures on the website! I know the hotel is having renovation works done but I expected more for the price and how the hotel is portrayed on the website! The room was smaller than the premier inn we stayed in the night before! Food - breakfast - luke warm food but there was a decent selection Main meals for diner were very limited, we didn’t eat there as the menu was so small and nothing that either of us would have ate! I will say one or two staff members were slightly judgemental and didn’t make us feel as welcome there as we should have felt! I guess we didn’t fit in with the hotels “aesthetics”
