I didn’t see that it wasn’t a cooked breakfast on offer when I booked don’t get me wrong food was good but I would prefer a cooked breakfast that’s my fault for not checking

Bigger TV as my sight isn’t the best and bed a could be bigger again just my preference as I’m a a bit of a larger person

A perfect stay

A quiet and peaceful location, but just a few minutes walk from many cafes, bars, and restaurants - perfect! Beautiful room (Herdwick) full of character and charm. The garden space is stunning - even in Jan/Feb! My favourite B&B ever. The breakfast (delivered to the room in a wicker hamper) was absolutely lovely - so much choice, and great quality. Also local butter and homemade preserves - heaven! I loved my stay at this magical and welcoming home from home. Attention to detail was obvious in every thoughtful, quirky, and caring touch, and David and Jenny are the most fabulous hosts. Special mention to their small but mighty "assistant", George the dog - what a little sweetheart! You all made my stay relaxing and very special - thank you xxx

Had a wonderful break for our wedding anniversary and definitely recommend this lovely place.

The whole house was homely and very comfortable and the garden was exceptional. Loved having breakfast in our bedroom and the beautiful way it was presented. Loved the little dog, George, made our day.

Breakfast was fine and suited the way the guest house worked. I’m not easy as a gluten-free person but would have ideally had an egg and less gf bread products. Presentation in hamper was fun. I loved the extra wee dog comfort items thank you. And the sheep themed towels etc. parking good too.

A lovely house in the perfect area. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Loved the Beatrix room, which was clean and well fitted out. Will definitely be back for our next visit.

A tranquil adult retreat without the corporate fuss of a hotel.

Very peaceful, really comfy bed, very clean. Check in was easy. Breakfast brought to the room was perfect. Owners were very attentive. Car parking space provided. A really great Lake District experience. I would happily return.

The theming of the room was not to my taste but I understand why it was done and lots of people will appreciate and enjoy it. For me the character of the house and its location were the highlights.

What a lovely place to stay.

To be totally honest I'm getting quite bored of places on booking.com having great reviews and pictures but then you turn up and the place is a dump. This however is not the case here and is a lovely little place. Clean, pleasant and the owners clearly have pride in their establishment. Off road parking is nice too. Had a mix up over bringing the pooch but the host sorted it. Great location. We will be back.

David was a lovely host, met me on arrival and showed me to my room. Room was very comfortable, not en suite but private bathroom nearby. Breakfast was continental and delivered to your room. Location was brilliant

A little gem!

Puddle Duck is a beautiful and quaint place I had the great pleasure of staying. A little gem! Beautiful gardens and parking is available. The lodge is beautifully presented, and I adored my room. The extra little touches made me smile, a rocking chair to enjoy my wonderful breakfast, which was presented in a hamper to my room at the requested time I asked for. The location is very good, quiet at night and not far from the town centre. David and Jenny made my stay extremely pleasurable, and I will definitely be booking here again in the future.

One of the best stays away I've had. Every need met and then some, beautiful room, so comfortable. lovely breakfast hamper with great choice and an ideal location for walks, the lake and the centre. Would highly recommend and plan to return.

All in all, good value for money. The rooms are nicely done up and I felt very comfortable

The attention to detail to make guests comfortable, including fans, heaters, heated towel rail, etc. Location was top, close to Bowness Pier.

Breakfast options are rather limited. No fried options, which I found disappointing. Also, the earliest time for breakfast was 8.30 which I thought was really late. Having said that ,Jenny agreed to bring it up to my room for just after 8, when I asked.

Lovely stay in Bowness!

Lovely lodge inside and out. Friendly hosts and beautiful four poster en-suite room (we stayed in the Beatrix) with tea & coffee facilities, magazines, puzzle books, dvds etc. Continental breakfast (lots of choices) delivered to your room in a lovely hamper. A short walk to the centre and lake. Would definitely recommend!

Cute B&B perfect location, comfy and clean

From the cute flower garden outside to the beautiful single room, perfect size for 1 person. The breakfast being served in a cute little hamper to my door in the morning, the freshly baked pastries and tasty granola.

Only downside is the fact the bathroom is separate to the bedroom itself. However the bathroom was well appointed, nicely decorated and lovely and clean.

Didn't like the fact that after numerous emails regarding our dog we were made to feel uncomfortable when we arrived with her a window had been left fully open and she jumped out luckily she wasn't injured apart from a cut in her chin

We loved staying in Puddle Duck Lodge so much! It is such a magical place, you can really feel the world of Beatrix Potter. We were welcomed by lovely human and animals hosts. :) It is in a great location, very close to the train station by bus. We had a wonderful, special breakfast in a hamper, even with homemade jam, compote. We loved everything, but the best part... the garden: it was such a beautiful feeling, sitting in there, with all the fragrant, splendid flowers... We will remember it forever. You can really tell, that David and Jenny put so much effort and their heart into this cosy accomodation. Thank you so, so much! <3

Absolutely fantastic. I was travelling alone and felt safe and secure. Lovely ensuite with a desk.

Breakfast was lovely. Delivered to my door in a picnic hamper. Lots of lovely details. Homemade jam! Little duck imprint on the toast. Enjoyed it looking out of my window in the rocking chair overlooking the beautiful garden.

A perfect 2 nights away, Puddle Duck Lodge is a hidden gem.

Attention to detail in the themed room. Comfortable, roomy and exceptionally clean. Location was excellent. Breakfast was lovely, especially the home made marmalade and strawberry compote, and delivered on time . Onsite parking, early check arranged Would highly recommend.

Gorgeous guest house which is close to town but set in a quiet location

We are Aussies travelling around the UK and Puddle Duck Lodge has been one of the best places to stay so far. It’s a lovely house set in a gorgeous garden and within walking distance to the town and lake. Every room has been tastefully decorated in Beatrix Potter theme which is beautiful. There are tea and coffee making facilities in your room including some nice biscuits and mint chocolates. The breakfast hamper is delivered to your door, giving you the comfort of eating in your room. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and we loved our stay.

Fantastic stay at Puddle Duck Lodge

The breakfast hamper delivered to your door in the morning was a nice touch. Eating at the table in your own room was lovely and the food which you order the night before was delicious. We had the 4 poster bed (Beatrix room) which was really comfy. The garden was lovely and the parking is great . You're only a 10 minute walk from the lake so we didn't use our car all weekend. There's plenty of shops/ bars/eateries on your doorstep too. The hosts have thought of everything for the room, even supplying little scissors to cut the milk sachets open which you can normally have an argument with!
