The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds with a fantastic view
Might be worth putting some kind of window covering on the kitchen and work areas to give guests a better overall impression on arrival

Beautiful lounge and the most comfortable bed ever! The only thing better was the staff who were so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend the best Pornstar Martini!

We have stayed at lots of hotels in Bowness and The Ryebeck was by far the best we have stayed at in terms of value for money, friendly staff, location, food was amazing, and our room was beautiful.

Room was not what we had booked. Allocated was small. TV in room didn’t work. Room was not very clean, dead flies on windowsill and had not been hoovered as found false eyelashes on the floor. Bedside lamp bulbs out.

Staff were incredible- I was a young solo female traveller. They all did the upmost to welcome me and were all incredibly friendly. I couldn’t stay for breakfast the next day, so the lady behind the front desk organised some yoghurt, fruit and a pastry to have. Such a lovely stay- short but incredibly sweet

Warm and cosy, large comfortable room. The hotel is set in nice gardens with plenty of free parking. Pleasant staff. Excellent breakfast. Nicely decorated for Christmas 🎄

Excellent stay/last minute booking.
The hotel furnishings are extremely comfortable offering a warm/cosy atmosphere and we found it spotlessly clean. The online pictures don't do it justice. There's a great choice of drink/snack options at the bar. Nothing was too much trouble. There is a cosy tv area for sports. Plenty of seating with an option of board games to play. The staff turn out well presented, and are cheerful and friendly.
Our room had a lake view (number 11) the bed is very comfortable. I had two of the best nights sleep ive had in a while. Quiet, peaceful, comfortable, high powered shower and jacuzzi bath, tv, dressing table, well positioned mirrors.
Great open views in the restaurant.
Nice and bright through the day and cosy vibes in the evening. Candle lit tables with low lighting make a huge difference to guests. Especially after a long journey. Food is absolutely spot on and we ate here both days.
The local BATH HOUSE offers gorgeous perfumes, hand creams, lip balm, hand washes, diffusers etc. These would make great gifts for anyone. In fact, my husband purchased a gift set to take home.
Local to the hotel, a (20 min walk) down hill, there is a short ferry trip to the opposite side of the water. £1.15 per person each way. The walk is suitable for people with disabilities or those less mobile as the ground is flat. There's a small coffee/cake cafe and for those who are a little more mobile there is a stunning stained glass open window view just a short walk up hill above the cafe. The cafe is very nice with home made cakes/brownies on offer and great lattes.
All in all we had a lovely stay, despite the weather. We plan to return in the sunny months.
The hotel is dog friendly.
I did have hairs on my jeans from someone allowing a dog on one sofa in the relaxation area. I feel this could be better managed as I do have a pet allergy.

The breakfast and dining menu was nice. Staff friendly view from the conservatory of the lake pretty.
I did not like the fact I was stung alseep in our room in thr middle of the night. To wake up amd find a wasp. Only to kill two more on our room. After informing management there was no apology or offer to move rooms until we went back up amd found 8 dead wasps behind the bench cushion of the window bay in our room. They clearly have not clean behind that for a number of days or week, make me question the hygene of the place. Espically after being moved to find hair and a millipead in the bath tub of the next. Markls on the pillows all photographed and given to reception.
Unacceptable to not even receieve anything complementary a drink or anything, for the injury and inconveneience of moving rooms to not be satifsfied yet again.

I booked the wrong night by accident but there was no issue, lady on reception managed to fit us in with no problems as all was extremely helpful. Very patient and helpful with my disabled mum also. Couldn't do enough for us on our stay.

I have received a free room upgrade with a lake view, which was amazing. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, which was really important to me whilst traveling solo.
The bathtub in the room wasn't very clean.

The room could use some renovation. It wasn’t terrible overall, but the bed sheets were stained and the bathroom was a run down

Staff were all fabulous and went above and beyond. Very friendly and always helpful Lovely grounds with picturesque views and autumn colours. Interiors ,fittings and furnishings were beautiful. It is a beautiful property.
First room offered had a very bad indiscernible smell, second room offered had broken heating, third room offered (an upgrade by this stage) was lovely.
Dinner in the restaurant - new chef apparently - was pretty awful. We had fish that was bland with plain boiled potatoes also bland. Tasty greens though. Other meal was bangers n mash. Sausages were tough and mash was dry. Wine was good!
Bed was hot (synthetic) and pillows uncomfortable.
New owners we were told so perhaps this is a consideration.

The manager was fantastic and you could tell that she wanted to make her visitors welcome, went above and beyond to sort any issues out. The other members of staff were also very well mannered and again would go out of their way and made us feel comfortable.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

The gorgeous views, the staff, how dog friendly it was, the comfortable beds and gorgeous decor! Also added decorations, chocolates and balloons to our room for our first wedding anniversary which was very sweet! (For a small charge)
You couldn’t walk into Windermere from the hotel but it was a very short drive, fine for us but those who didn’t drive there might struggle. And in our room there was not much room for luggage/to get ready etc but we did chose a cosy double room so it was to be expected.

Went for our anniversary, they were able to arrange flowers and a bottle of bubbles for me ahead of the stay. Staff were very friendly and we actually met the owners whilst there and also very friendly. Great place to visit if you want something different from the usual boring hotels - the artwork is fantastic. Breakfast was perfect, great quality. Many thanks
