We stayed at The Bowness Bay Suites over the new year and loved it. Excellent location close to restaurants and bars. Very clean, comfortable, warm and cosy accommodation, beautifully decorated and lovely owners. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Very nice inside, gorgeous layout and decor. The bed was the best, had a brilliant sleep. The location is in prime position for the lake and all the bars too.

A bit disappointing..

Weliked the size of the room the view of the lake an the location & that it was clean

The bed & bedding ,quilt cover was to big..the quilt its self was flat an poor quality when you sat on the bed you were basicallysat on the frame ,new mattress required .the sofa was looking very old an discoloured due to the cushions been washed so much ,they were a different colour to the rest as had faded so much .the noise from the rd was bad in the mornings.poor nights sleep

Despite the 1 negative, we still really enjoyed ourselves!!

Loved the room. Lovely view. Nothing was to much trouble. Lovely to meet the previous owner (mum). Breakfast was very nice, it's over the road in another pub.

The level of automation, it feels very impersonal. Everything is done via emails, keycodes. Wasn't what I was expecting. This is a little gem of a hotel, please bring back the personal touch, it does make a difference for your guests.

Can I move in?

No dogs - a rare find in Bowness (great if you're allergic to pet hair). Adults only (great if you're allergic to annoying children, lol). Sublime views & beautifully clean.. I spent an hour with a glass of wine just looking out over the juilette balcony into the lake - absolute bliss.

Lost a star because the entry codes were not given to us until 11.30am on the DAY OF ARRIVAL. By which time we had set off and couldn't print anything off. Caused me anxiety as the lakes is really not a great signal area to recieve last minute messages. There's no reason for doing this - we have exactly the same system at our hotel accommodation. We booked several weeks before...

August mini break

Vickie was an excellent host. We realised shortly before going that parking was on a public car.park. As one of us is disabled, Vickie expained that we could cancel and if there was a problem to get back in touch with her. As it is we decided to continue with the booking. Vickir explained that we coud unload at the door and that parking was a very short walk away. She also arranged a parking permit for us. Vickie also offered her private garden as secure parking for the mobility scooter, although it turned out not to be quite suitable and we found an alternative. The suite was a double size room and it was nice to have so much space. It is very central to Bowness. Literally a few minutes walk from cafes, shops etc.

Lack of parking on site ws a problem for disability but was manageable. Stairs could be an issue but if Vickie is aware she will try to arrange a ground floor suite, if available. Many of the properties within Bowness have similar challenges.

It’s a very pleasant experience and the owner is extremely helpful and kind.

The stay at Bowness Bay Suite was a great experience. Its location is in the middle of the town, very close to the pier and literally every restaurant and bar in Bowness. The room is very nice. And the owner had been very kind and helpful. We really appreciate her kindly offering us a free lift when we couldn’t get a taxi for the restaurant we booked. Definitely recommended!

Little get away

The suit was beautiful and such a great location, the team there was really nice and friendly and helped with parking and what to do,

Unfortunately we didn’t stay all 3 nights as the bed was so uncomfortable and my husband ended up getting on the sofa, so decided to go home after the 2nd night, we did report this to the manager and she was brilliant about it, they did get the mattress changed to a new one later that evening, and said would refund us the night we didn’t stay which is very kind of them, we will definitely be back now, seeing that they took action into what we said.

Location was fabulous. The hosts were both really friendly and welcoming, full of useful advice and great recommendation of a walk and places to get food. The room was pristine, beautifully decorated and there was everything you could possibly need! 100% Will be back to stay again.

Thanks a lot, We really enjoyed our stay there. The location was perfect — peaceful and surrounded by nature. The place felt very cozy and welcoming, with a warm and hospitable atmosphere. Everything was spotlessly clean, which made the stay even more comfortable. One of the highlights was the beautiful view from the window. It was the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We would definitely love to come back again!

We were warm, comfortable and happy with our suite.

I loved the sparkly clean and comfortable suite. Everything was like brand new. Bowness Bay Suites is one block the bus stop. Easy access to the Train Station. Close to shops , Restaurants, and lake.. Our hosts Martin and Howie were very accommodating and helpful. They treat you like you are family.
