Great stay!

We loved our stay at the White House. So central and great communication from the team. The spa round the corner was also a great addition especially after two very wet hikes.

Unfortunately there were some signs of wear and tear in the room which was slightly disappointing considering the room being labelled as luxury and the price per night. Bathroom door broken. Curtains falling off. Front door catching. Bathroom mirror light not working. Just a point of note didn’t affect our stay and would stay again.

The location and decor was lovely

The windows didn’t open in the room and although I kept adjusting the heating the room was so hot all night as it seemed to keep defaulting back to hot every few hours and it was really hot so kept waking up too warm

Room was nice and warm for arrival. Heated bathroom floor and high quality shower. Centrally located.

Brilliant Stay!

Loved the location, cleanliness of the room is superb. Really nice cosy feel - loved the touch of the radio being on for us on arrival! Communication from the hosts was brilliant too. Couldn't recommend anywhere more!

The only problem we found was that the bathroom flooded because it's all on one level. This meant that once one of us had had a shower the whole floor around the toilet was soaking wet for the rest of our stay.

An amazing property

Some many lovely touches

No parking was tricky as we had a lot of luggage as we were getting married in a couple of days and didn’t want to leave anything in the car. Normally not a problem and the central location more than makes up for it

Cosy, romantic, feels just like home

We loved the cosy feel of the room, with the exposed oak dotted around the room. The bath was an added bonus and made the mood feel a lot more relaxed. The bed was really comfy and the room was at a perfect temperature. The whole stay was perfect.

I booked this, it was room only. Tea and coffee available in the room, but only 2 sachets of milk for 2 people for 2 nights! Room was good, bathroom excellent. Nice heating and room was warm, even though it was chilly outside. Bath was very nice. Rooms clean, nice towels and good shampoo and soaps. Also a fridge, which was good for keeping food and drinks cool. Fantastic location, very very central for shops bars and restaurants..

People above in the room above were really noisy, the floor creaked and you could hear every step, especially when they woke at 3am and 4 am to go to the bathroom.... Also, parking was 10 minute walks away, public car park which was very busy. Double yellow lines all around the accommodation, so with heavy suitcases it was challenging to push them up the inclines to the car park.

A stunning room, clean & spacious - close to everything.

Lovely accommodation i wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Loved the copper bath - wow! No pets - brilliant for us allergic people. It's a shame that there was some damage to the carpet presumably by idiot guests with a cigarette. You wonder what fool would wantantly damage such a beautiful room and why can't they just obey the simple rules. The owner wouldn't have the opportunity to sort this out mid season it's not a quick turnaround. Anyway, stunning room and my sympathies go to the Proprietor.

This goes for all the self entry/ coded lock accommodation in the lakes (not just here). seemingly & i honestly don't know why? They don't give you the code to get into the room until like an hour before? I had left home and was on the road, and in a bad pick-up area, I was worried I wouldn't get the code. I worried so much it wrecked my drive to the lakes. I like to print it off - but they didn't give you the chance... why is this?

No parking and noisy but central.

It is very central so very close to pubs etc. this also means it is noisy and there is no parking. It was clean but I’m not sure of how warm it would be in the winter months. I personally would not book here again.

Great stay at The White House

Beautiful little courtyard right in heart of bowness, very clean and small double extremely comfortable, lots of detail, small fridge, kettle and tea coffee , we did a last minute booking for our anniversary and bed made up with petals and prosecco such a lovely suprise

Overpriced

On the positive side, the self check-in process was a breeze, and the host was very helpful, providing a lot of good, specific recommendations for local food. We also appreciated how close we were to many great restaurants and shops. The host was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. They provided us with a free Prosecco as this was our honeymoon trip and that is greatly appreciated! The toilet’s interior design and rain shower is great. They also provide Bath House amenities and that elevates the whole experience.

However, the location's convenience came at a cost. The unit was quite noisy at night, with a lot of street noise and noise from the bars nearby. Inside the building, we could also clearly hear footsteps from the unit above us. The room itself was a disappointment. It was incredibly small, and we had almost no space to walk around once our luggages were open. In stark contrast, the toilet was unnecessarily huge, taking up space that would have made the main room feel much more comfortable. Despite its size, the bathroom lacked basic amenities like towel racks, leaving us with nowhere to hang towels or clothes. The room was mostly clean, but the bed cover was noticeable dirty. The bathroom's ventilation was also very poor, and opening the window for air was not a viable option as it allowed all the noise from outside to come in.
