Fantastic location, staff, food and service.

The staff are brilliant and friendly, and the food and drink that is available both for breakfast, and during the day was really tasty and good value.

Breakfast times were a little rigid and there were elements of the B&B that could do with a refresh as it was a little dated.

Pretty and comfy.

Close to centre. Lovely pub downstairs. Clean, lots of space and comfy bed. Gorgeous view of Bowness on Windermere. TV with multiple channels. Refreshments on arrival. Welcoming staff and pleasant atmosphere in the bar area. Never load or any form of disturbance. Warm and well insulated.

The parking is limited and on a steep hill at the front (when it snowed, it was impossible for our BMW to stay parked, so we had to park round the back which you have to climb a hill to access as well). Old building which has old toilet systems, so you could hear next door flushing the chain.

A good, no frills inn.....but beware additional costs if you are booking a single room

This is a traditional Lake District inn. Everything was good but there was nothing that made it stand out above many others in the area. Breakfast was very filling....and that is not a complaint! And, the property was good value despite having to pay for my parking.

For fear of sounding like a stuck record, I do not like having to pay for parking away from the property. This, however, is my fault and I should have checked the small print and not gone by just the reviews. It did not make me feel welcome when the double rooms get parking for free. Other than that, I would have preferred breakfast being served earlier than 8.30.

The people were very friendly and helped us park in the morning so we could go and explore, had a nice meal in the evening and the breakfast was lovely in the morning, great location to explore Windermere

Worth the monies

This is a very well placed and very well presented accommodation. The staff make you feel very welcome, the room we stayed in was perfect for our needs and plenty of room to swing an Aardvark. The bar serves plenty of choice, and prices are in keeping with the rest of Bowness and Windermere. The included breakfast is very nice and sets you up for the day ahead. All in all, well worth the money spent, glad we stayed and we'll definitely be back.

The staff were great

I found the room to be very cold and couldn’t sleep at all so the second night we didn’t stay I thought it wasn’t worth being uncomfortably cold again The meal on the first evening wasn’t perfect the chips hard the pie was tasteless and gravy was watery although the sticky toffee pudding was lovely

Perfect weekend break

Had a brilliant stay here for a weekend break. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Extra tea/coffee etc if needed. Breakfast and pub grub was delicious. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Check in and check out was seamless. Local to shops, restaurants, bars and Bowness Pier. Would definitely stay again!

Owner and staff were excellent, really helpful and friendly. Bed was really comfy. Couldn’t have picked a better location for the lake. Literally a 5minute walk. Breakfast was delicious - made to order so was hot.
