A tranquil, romantic getaway for a couple of nights in the lake district.

Location was outstanding. One of the best views of lake Windermere. Outside of the busy tourist district but only five minutes drive away. Food at Henrock was amazing and a lovely breakfast too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

A wonderful treat in a fantastic location

We first went to this hotel 3 years ago. I honestly don't know why we left it so long to go back. It is wonderful. It hasn't diminished in any way in 3 years, which is rare.

A lovely couple of days over the Christmas holidays in beautiful surroundings.

Beautiful location. Our suite and the communal areas are beautifully presented with just the right level of mixture of modern comforts and cozy English countryside. The artwork around the hotel is very engaging and interesting. The food is delicious and presented also as work of art.

The walk up the hill to our suite after dark is not well lit.

Excellent throughout

The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, especially especially being decorated for Christmas. The service provided by the staff was outstanding. Each member of staff was so welcoming, polite and helpful. The room was amazing with a nice view from the balcony plus it was kept very clean and tidy. Breakfast was also outstanding eith plenty to choose from and a beautiful setting to enjoy it. Perfect as Always

Everything. Staff accommodation and food was exceptional. The Chef altered the menu for my Wife who is Coeliac and Lactose intolerant. It was perfect and they were only to happy to accommodate. Food and cocktails were amazing. Full compliments to the Chef and waiting on team. Look forward to returning again soon.

This hotel is sublime. The attention to detail, the cleanliness and comfort, the professionalism of the staff, the decor, the grounds, the food - all exceptional. A sophisticated hotel with a quiet luxury that allows you to feel indulged but also relaxed and comfortable. Every single person we met who worked there was polite, friendly and helpful. The management should be very proud of their staff. We felt very well cared for and refreshed and we are already looking to rebook.

Absolutely lovely, would definitely recommend!

The views were beautiful, the grounds were well maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Far exceeded what I was expecting.

My only complaint would be the road up to the hotel. It was extremely narrow, and it was not clear I was in the right place initially. It was very difficult to manage the road when another car was coming from the opposite direction.

Everything. I have been I. A lot of hotels. Linthwaite house knocks it out of the ballpark All the people that were there working made my stay a glorious one. Alexandro Front desk think spoke several times with on the phone. Took great care in getting my booking done. Also Tim and Chris And Alexandro the server was fantastic. Ollie Theo and Jenna , Emilia. Jasmine and Pepe Kamil Susan and Scarlit were so detailed in making sure I had coffee and water Leigh was always there in the morning to make sure if I needed anything Luciano and Alfonso were great I hope I didn’t forget anyone because the entire crew made my stay a memorable one of happiness and true relaxation

Paradise in the beautiful lake district

From check in to check out our stay was amazing, so good we are going back to celebrate New Year 2026!! The statues in the gardens and artwork in the house are beautiful pieces and you always notice something new. We dined in both Henrock and the Conservatory and both served exceptional meals. All of the staff were professional, friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable.

Beautiful hotel, rooms immaculate and staff were really accommodating with elderly family members. Nothing was too much trouble. Grounds are lovely to walk round and great views of Windermere. Henrock restaurant excellent.

A comfortable oasis that with a few tweaks could become a perfect base camp

Outstanding breakfast, some excellent staff members like Theo and Timothy. Welcoming lounge areas with open fires and beautifully manicured gardens. Interesting, quirky artwork. The Sunday Roast at the restaurant was one of the best we ever had

Rooms, whilst comfortable, were a bit small for our liking. Some staff were terse, or looked miserable- jot becoming of a five star experience.

Very disappointed. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately due to personal circumstances we had to leave earlier than expected.

The room was too small and dominated by a king size bed with no room to move around in. Only one chair was provided for although two of us were occupying it. The wardrobe was very small and we would have struggled to put our clothes in it. There was nowhere to put our luggage and for something classed as a superior room it was both very disappointing and misleading, definitely not worth the price tag.

Everything was outstanding. The artworks around the place are stunning and the staff were out and out outstanding everywhere.

Cobwebs and dust on the bronze artworks on a shelf in our suite had been there quite some time by the look of it but aside from that the place was exceptionally clean.

Room was hot and stuffy (even with windows open), fan was provided but this didn't really help. I noticed the mini bar fridge was kicking out a lot of heat so suggest more efficient fridges are procured.

Hotel setting was beautiful with well tended gardens. Lounge and bar area comfortable with lovely fixtures and fittings. Dining room nice with knowledgeable staff. Food delicious.

Bedroom and bathroom were smaller than expected as it was a superior Room. Also the room was really warm during the night. Unable to open the window.
