We had a fabulous stay in the Storrs gate bed and breakfast. Everything was wonderful. Our room was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. It's just a short walk to lake Windermere and all amenities. Really lovely!

The place and rooms were nice but the experience was overshadowed by the bad behaviour of the hostess. We were 15 minites late in checking out coz i had bumped my head. She never offered to help while my forehead was swelling up, refused to give ice or anything to help and just wanted us out of the room. She closed the door to the living room area when we came down the stairs and made us wait for our taxi out in the cold..

What a little gem of a guest house this is, just yards from the shore of Lake Windermere opposite the marina and just a 20 minute walk from Bowness ( or a couple of minutes max by car ! ) Owners Susanne and Glenn are lovely warm friendly hosts and are very welcoming and more than happy to give you any help needed with info on the local area. The guest house is bright and beautifully clean with a slightly 'chintzy' decor, but at least it has character rather than the sterile corporate identikit look of many hotels. Breakfast choice is excellent, fresh berries, granola, cereals etc etc, all the usual, and the cooked food is delicious and freshly prepared for you when you go down to breakfast. Our bed was on the firm side but nontheless was very comfortable and lovely and warm and the pillows were excellent. All in all with the guest house very good EXCEPT the road noise was awful ! The windows were of the sash design which do not seal well even when closed so we got the roar of every car, bike, van etc that went past in our room, usually falling quiet around 1.00am. For me, this made sleeping difficult and was the only real negative to our stay.

Storrs Guest house was clean & comfortable. The owners were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much for them. They were knowledgeable on places to see. The breakfast was excellent - sets you up for the day. I would recommend Storrs Guest house & it was only a 10 minute walk into Bowness which offered some amazing friendly pubs & the food was good, enjoyed the Sunday roast in the Flying Pig very good food.

Absolutely fabulous stay from start to finish. Room and whole ambience were great. The owners both so hospitable and lovely. Met on arrival with a glass of port and a mince pie which was a lovely touch. The rooms were also lovely with extra touches which went above and beyond the usual. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. And what can I say about the breakfast. Probably the best one we have ever had in a hotel before. Location is handy too, being perhaps a 10 to 15 minute walk from the centre of Bowness, the only thing to bear in mind was the last few hundred yards to the hotel there was no street lights and so was incredibly dark. But with a torch is no problem and shouldn't put you off booking this stunning little hotel. We would not hesitate to rebook if we were in the area in the future .

Storrs Gate House is beautiful and smells devine! We had the warmest welcome on arrival from the hosts Susann & Glenn who couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay. Breakfast was generous, setting us up for the day, so much so we never lunched the whole weekend as we were too full from breakfast! The room was very clean and well decorated. You know there is a touch of class when you see The White Company toiletries offered as standard. Cannot wait to visit Lake Windermere again and for sure we’ll book Storrs Gate House as location and everything about the house and hosts was simply perfect. Highly recommended.

Susan is very friendly. She greeted us warmly. We really liked the room, which was very cozy. Susan introduced us to nearby tourist attractions and routes and gave us many tips on saving money and budget-friendly travel options. We enjoyed the breakfast at the place very much. The breakfast was very abundant and fresh, prepared by the chef on the same day. Please confirm your check-in time, as the chef needs to wake up early in the morning to prepare breakfast for each guest, so they need to go to bed early. Please make sure to check in before 9 PM to ensure their schedule is maintained.

Perfect location for travelling around the lake and for going out in the local area. Delicious and ample breakfast, tailored to your needs with plenty of tasty options which set us up right for a long walk. Super comfy bed, warm, little nice things like milk and good advice on walks and local sights. They also gave us biscuits to keep us trucking on our walk on our way out the door.

what an outstanding property! This was certainly in the highest class of a B&B, more like a luxury hotel. The ambience was excellent, the rooms and living areas so tastefully decorated.
