Lovely place to stay

Adorable guest house, loved the decor in the Red Squirrel room! The breakfast selection waiting in the room's mini fridge was lovely and really made the room great value for the money. Hosts were friendly and responsive and the room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely return if I was in the area again.

The shower was not properly enclosed by the shower door, and so despite our best efforts, quite a lot of water ended up on the floor.

Excellent room, comfortable bed and a great shower. Very friendly host with excellent recommendations for where to eat. The wood fired pizza and craft beer at the Black Isle pub were excellent.

Cozy and clean room in great location in Inverness

Great location, quiet and spotlessly clean room. The owner was very kind and accommodating and provided a superb service, down to the complimentary breakfast available in the room. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice modern room with guest car park. We had breakfast in our room. We liked the small distance to the city and our very friendly host.

We missed chesse or cream chesse for breakfast. Only jam or marmelade for the toast was a bit one-sided.

No soundproof, can hear sound from other rooms. Host is downstairs but chose self check in. Hence reduce the warmth of welcoming

This experience left us feeling shocked, insulted, and unfairly treated. We would not recommend staying here.

Walking distance of Inverness centre.

We had a deeply disappointing experience during our stay. Midway through, the owner accused us of taking a cushion from the room. We later found it on the floor, where it had likely fallen while the bed was being made. When we explained this to him and confirmed it had been in the room the whole time, he insisted it wasn’t and continued to question us. We expressed that his approach made us feel very uncomfortable, especially as guests in our mid-60s who value honesty and respect. His response was to tell us we had to leave immediately. He then falsely claimed the room had smelled of cannabis that morning — a completely baseless accusation, as neither of us uses or has ever used cannabis.

Advertised Room Misrepresented

Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Attention to detail for eg the room theme was excellent. Continental breakfast provision was good.

The fact that the bathroom was not en-suite ( described as private) is misleading in their room description and open to misinterpretation. Bathrobes for guest are essential when provided with a non en-suite bathroom . Room was a little cramped for a double. Advertised as a room with a view. The view was of the street, the gable end of the house opposite and some shrubs in its back garden. Misleading!

Location was good, walking distance for shops and theatre. Room and en- suite were lovely and spotlessly clean. Self serve breakfast was new to us but worked well with ample provisions for two.

The pillows were far too hard we had to take out extra ones which we found in the cupboard which felt softer. The room seemed to have a lot of clicking noises which was coming from the fridge containing the breakfast and also an extractor which I think was in the next room.

A welcoming stay in Inverness

The place is very easy to find, the rooms are themed so even on self check in it's easy to figure out where you're supposed to go. We stayed in the stag room, which was very cozy and welcoming. Loved all the little deer themed decor, which was everywhere but subtle. It was also absolutely spotless. It's got everything you could possibly need, and things for breakfast are provided in a basket and in the fridge. Us being big animal lovers, our highlight was probably getting to meet one of the owners, who happily introduced us to his 'zoo', comprised of two dachshund dogs and two sphynx cats. We spent some time getting to know everyone and chatting to him about them, which was lovely. Would definitely book again and prefer this type of business compared to a hotel; the level of care and thought that goes into the space is felt and appreciated.

Excellent location and very well conceived concept on a DIY basis.

Given that it was a continental breakfast stored in the room, a lot of thought had been given to what to provide and how to ensure it remained fresh. Couldn't really expect any more.

Red Squirrel room has a dedicated bathroom across the landing that was excellent. It wasn't obvious that this was the case at the time of booking. That said, it was fine and almost certainly far more luxurious than the smaller ensuites in the other rooms.

Wonderful stay with a very welcoming host.

Alan was very welcoming and our room was available earlier. He told us about a nice walk which we did. We stayed in the Stag room which had a very comfortable bed. Alan has thought of everything you would need. The continental breakfast in the room was perfect before we continued our drive up the North Coast 500. The room was spotless and the off road parking was great. Just a ten minute walk into the town centre. We ate at the Fig and Thistle and had a very good meal there.

One of the best places I've ever stayed.

I cannot speak highly enough of this stay. It is a beautiful home with very comfortable, clean rooms. Alan & Darryl are so welcoming, and after a very long day we arrived late to the warmth of this stay and thoughtful breakfasts ready for the morning. Will definitely stay again whenever we are back in Inverness.

Very clean and nicely furnished.

Breakfast is provided in room - milk, yogurt and orange juice in fridge. Kettle and toaster provided, and also tea, coffee, fruit, bread and cereals. I would have preferred a breakfast provided in a dining room, but what we got was perfectly adequate.

We had to let ourselves in by unlocking a key safe with a key provided, and make our own breakfast, which all felt a bit impersonal. I would also have liked a bigger bathtowel. I felt the bed was a bit soft for me, but I appreciate that this is a matter of personal preference.

Just good

Property in general and room in particular have a great vibe. Superbly clean&tidy, simple but great for a short term stay. Bed was super comfy. Complimentary drinks (chilled), snacks&fruits and Loch Ness region map were a nice touch. Property is by a larger road but the room is perfectly quiet. Nice decor (in my room: pheasants from the wall painting to the cup saucers 🙂). All in all, 10/10 recommend.

Wonderfully comfy, well-located and glorious value for money

The B&B is situated within walking distance of the city's main strip of restaurants and bars. Instructions with regards to arrival and check in procedures were very clear and the room we were assigned was so comfortable and cosy. The complimentary breakfast in the room's fridge was a really special touch which we really appreciated.

Fantastic B&B with all the comforts of home!

We so enjoyed the two nights we spent at Haste Ye Back! Everything little touch inside our room was well thought out. Great parking as well for our car. We brought a bottle of wine and accidentally realized it would require a bottle opener. Alan, the owner went out to the store in the evening to get us one and we were blown away! He was amazing and we are so thankful we stayed there. Lots in walking distance and comfortable space! Alan also gave us some great recommendations for the area.
