An ok stay if you have no other choice.

Thomas is a very nice and friendly host. The cats are also really nice and friendly. The heating sistem works very good and the room was warm.

The breakfast was pretty poor in choices, but otherwise ok. The room is extremely outdated and there was mold in the shower cabin. The towels were the same for the whole stay (4 days), and after the first two days they begin to smell. I suggest that next time they wash the towels more thoroughly. The old house has wooden floors and you hear all the neighbours. It is very important to make sure you had a car or some kind of transport because if you want to eat in the neighborhood it will be hard, and you will have to travel to the city center.

Warm, welcoming accomodation in a lovely garden atmosphere with an attentive host. Small village scene. Rural. Very quie

Very warm and considerate host. Reception was punctual and personal. Interesting room decor as host is an Australia fan. Breakfast is generous, varied, although no fried dishes. I particularly liked the fresh fruit and berries (from the properties lovely gardens which are gorgeous to gaze upon and walk through). The host made every effort to accomodate my EBike — safe, secure, indoor locked storage overnight with charging outlet.

The property is lovely. Nothing to dislike. The small village of Bottelare is somewhat limited in dining however. Le Linde café-restaurant is acceptable with spaghetti, meatballs, aubergine parmesan, croque monsieur (that’s nearly the entire menu mind you) and warm staff. The other option (not tried) is a friterie. If you are with a motor vehicle (not my case) then you can easily drive to other venues.

A very pleasant B&B run by friendly and easy-going hosts. Recommended.

Very pleasant hosts. The property was very pleasant indeed in a quiet, edge of village location, with good proximity to main routes and the city of Ghent. The garden room which I stayed in was very pleasant and quiet, located towards the back of a very pretty garden. The breakfast room in the main house was in a spacious and very pleasant conservatory. Overall I felt very welcome and relaxed here.

It would have been nice to have feather pillows on the bed as I find large, synthetically-stuffed pillows uncomfortable to sleep on. The breakfast was on the whole good, but there were limited sugar free options - I did not eat the granolas as they contained sugar and the plain yogurt, although labelled "natural", contained sugar. As a friendly suggestion, I think it would be a good idea to offer some plain, natural, unsweetened yoghurt as well as some grains for cereal that did not contain sugar, eg, porridge oats and seeds.

A wonderful cozy close to nature B&B with lovely hosts. The breakfast was superb and the vibe of the togetherness was such a delight. The hosts were responsive and supportive. They offered a welcome drink from a wide range of beverages.

There was a mild pipe smell in the bathroom which was not a blocker for our stay but sensed in the room.

Cozy and Welcoming BnB

Set in a friendly neighborhood, Thomas greeted us at his very charming house with welcoming smile. The room and the views, everything was just perfect. Breakfast options were all delicious, even better than many hotels I have been to in Europe. Thomas has take so much care and time in curating this BnB. And to our surprise he is a Chocalatier amd Jewelry maker, making some impressive creations. All this made our stay even more unique and worthy of remembering. Thank you for this beautiful experience.

There is nothing which we did not like about this place and would choose it again over any fancy hotels in Ghent.

High quality rest and comfort in a stylish family home.

This was a repeat visit for us and we were as delighted as the first time. Not only is the welcome and the service of the highest order, it is great fun to stay in a real community out of town and see something of the countryside. Our hosts' English is excellent and he will provide information on what the village and the area has to offer.

We have no complaints and love La Cl du Sud as it is. Just a word of warning since we last visited the access by car is only available from one direction and our Sat-Nav had not picked this up.

Relaxing stay with a beautiful garden and lovely cats!

We are so happy that we chose this B&B to be our last stay of the trip. The owner is very warm and still prepared us some small breakfast even though we had to leave much earlier before normal breakfast hours which was really sweet! We enjoyed our evening very much with the welcome beer in the very beautiful and rustic garden! The homemade chocolate was super tasty! We love to go back another time!

One night B&B stay with everything perfect!

Beautiful house and garden, very comfortable bedroom with spacious shower room and excellent wide choice of delicious food for 'petit dejeuner'. Thomas was the perfect host and we enjoyed interesting conversation with him over breakfast. Thomas recommended a restaurant in Merelbeke for our evening meal which proved to be excellent.

Nothing could have made our one night stay more perfect. Thank you Thomas.

Lovely place and lovely hosts

The B&B la clé du Sud is a wonderful place. We went there for the Easter break and we were happily surprised by the hosts, very nice and welcoming people! The place is very nice, big and quite and we had a delicious breakfast. I really recommend this place if you plan to come and visit Ghent!

Ontbijt is super gemoedelijk, met zicht op de mooie tuin! Thomas is ook chocolatier en laat ons zeker ook mee genieten van zijn creaties! Er zijn veel wandelingen in de buurt die je kan doen en hier zijn de nodige kaarten ter beschikking.

De ligging was ok voor ons. Het ontbijt was ook ok. De gastheer was vriendelijk maar daar is alles mee gezegd.

De kamer was voor ons niet ok voor deze prijs. Heel amateuristisch in mekaar geflanst en heel ouderwets. De positionering van de tv was helemaal niet ok. Er stond een veel te kleine wc bril op het toilet. De gastvrouw was helemaal niet vriendelijk. Dit is een B&B die maximaal 110 euro voor een nacht met ontbijt zou mogen vragen. De buitenkant was helemaal niet verzorgd.

Fantastische verblijf, veel ruimte in de eco-tuin en makkelijk te rijden naar Gent

Fijne sfeer binnen- en buitenshuis. Hele mooie eco-tuin waar je op verschillende plekjes in alle rust kon genieten. Het ontbijt was fantastisch , goed verzorgd en zeer uitgebreid. Leuke ontvangst met een drankje na keuze!

Eigenlijk viel niets ons echt tegen.
