Lovely apartment, cozy room, friendly host, great breakfast, convenient location.

The apartment was lovely. The room was warm and cozy. Linda was very kind and friendly. Breakfast was perfect: fresh and delicious. The location was good, with a bus stop right in front of the door, and the city center was not too far away.

The room could have been a bit cleaner. It’s on the 3rd floor, which was fine for me, but if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, it might not be ideal.

The only thing is if you are mobility impaired find out where you are sleeping as the stairs are steep. But this small. The place is lovely

Overall an enjoyable and comfortable stay

Enjoyed our short stay and the breakfast was great. Our room was two sets of steps up and quite steep but we managed them. Lovely host and we found paid parking nearby. Historic centre a good 20 min walk from the property

Charming and comfortable B&B at the south centre of Ghent

Sparrow's Nest is located on the south end of Ghent's inner ring road. I was on my bike, so this made it ideal to reach, and then it was 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes cycle to the centre. The room was pleasant, and the host friendly (allowed me to park bike in hall (ok for one or two clean bikes, not for lots). The breakfast was good, with continental breads cheeses and ham, an egg offered, and pastries, jams, etc. available. The room, bed, shower, were clean, comfortable, all very good.

The room is quite near a university night spot, which was a bit noisy at 9 or 10pm, but it became quiet soon after this, so not bad at all. I had no problem sleeping.

Good hotel at a great price.

Good location, everything is nearby (transport, old town), within a radius of 1.5-2 km, you can walk. The hotel looks beautiful, in an old house, but everything is beautiful, clean, tasteful. Rooms on three floors with steep stairs, but acceptable for not very old people and without big problems with movement. The hostess is very hospitable and interesting in communication and providing breakfast. Check-in strictly at the specified time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sparrow's nest - perfect location for exploring Gent, a cozy room, delicious breakfast and a really nice and warm host. Definitly would come again!

The location was great, close to the train station in Ghent and a lovely park with blossom

The room is too small, and there is no proper barrier for the shower room and the kitchen. Besides that, we could clearly hear someone upstairs walking at midnight and the fire engine or police cars alarming at night. the insulation needs further improving.

Great stay!

The rooms are really cozy and comfortable, totally different from a cold hotel room. Breakfast is great, the owner is super nice. Never felt so soft bed lines! Another thing I appreciated is that it was an environmental friendly stay: no single use plastic bathroom items.

this is a true hidden gem and the photos do not do it justice, it is a beautiful home with lots of what seem to be vintage furniture, fireplace, balcony, accessories. the host is super helpful, the breakfast is delicious. I do recommend, overall it exceeded the expectations:)

Excellent value for money and Christine was the hostess with the mostest!

Comfortable room with private bath/shower and toilet. Excellent breakfast consisting of a good selection of continental meats, cheese and pastries plus freshly boiled eggs cooked to order!

Some traffic noise as it is on a main road.

Linda our host was lovely. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was down a few steps, this was no problem. The bathroom itself was very nice with a big bath with jacuzzi style bubbles. All very clean. A lovely continental breakfast was provided which set us up for the day. Easy 15/20 minute walk along the canal to the historic centre which is very beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

The hostess was so very kind and informative. Breakfast was delish. It was nice to have both tea and a fridge in the room. Great location near enough the city to be convenient but w/o noise and traffic. Bus stops were very near.

If stairs are a problem for you, there were some stairs to navigate to get to the rooms.

Friendly and cozy

I book the room for my parents. They liked it very much. The bed was very comfy and thick. The host was very friendly. She prepared a delicious breakfast with many choices (e.g. coffee, tea, eggs, salami, cheese, jams, spreads, pastries...). The building is a charming old house, but renovated, with modern bathrooms. Everything was clean.

The stairs. This was not a secret, so this is not a complaint but more of a warning for people who have difficulties climbing (or going down) the stairs. As the B&B is in a typical Belgian house, the stairs are very steep with shallow steps.

Wonderful period house. Generous proportions in the room and really well fitted out. Lovely dining area for breakfast looking out over a feature garden to the rear. Absolutely fabulous breakfast. And Linda is the perfect host.

Nothing to dislike but the house is over several floors and the upper floors are only accessible by stairs.

Location OK - about 15-20 min stroll into the centre and with public transport nearby if needed. Parking garage at St. Pieterplein P10 recommended - €8/24h. Breakfast was good!

Found room at the front too noisy (warm summer Saturday night). Having most of the bathroom facilities in the room not ideal either.

Parking vinden is niet altijd simpel en duur. Je moet redelijk wat trappen doen naar je kamer.
