As a family of 4 on a road trip, we needed a hotel near Ghent where we could arrive by car, use the hotel as a base for a couple of days and travel into Ghent by public transport. We wanted functional more than frills. This did the job perfectly. Big car park, big rooms, clean, good facilities and breakfast in the morning to get us set up for the day.
Tram station to get into Ghent just a short walk down a public footpath.
Mission accomplished. Staff were great.
Hotel is a bit dated, as are the rooms but they seem to be doing renovations.
The car park is large but had a bit of an odd, almost building site feel to it. Perhaps part of the renovations but looks like it's been that way for a while. Also had to pay per day for parking but that's common for these types of hotels in key areas.
The hotel is in an expo centre area with a large Ikea next door hence all a bit commercial location wise but never felt threatening or dangerous in any way (at night time). Getting in and out by car was interesting to say the least as the hotel is on a loop road with tricky lane options. Keep focus on that sat-nav carefully else you'll be doing a few unnecessary loop laps.

The location is fantastic as a short walk to the tram stop which is free on a Sunday. The room was spacious and bed comfortable with 2 TVs. Fresh decorated room as was part of the renovated section of the hotel. The breakfast had a large selection of cold and hot items.
We booked a family room but we were given 2 separate rooms (a separate room for the 5yr and 11yr kids !!) - only half the hotel was renovated so they had no other family rooms (and the system had not been updated to reflect the room we had booked wasn't a family room anymore although the space in the room was massive and a sofabed would have fit with still enough room for the 2 coffee tables and 6 seats of chairs in the other half) so the kids slept on the floor with mattress and blankets for the 1 night we were there. The 2 other adults with us were given a room with no electric so had to be moved to another room.

A good hotel next to the FlanExpo. Comfortable room and great service

Bar staff were very pleasant , the room was comfortable
From the tram to the hotel at night was bad lighting, the stairs there were no lights.
Not disability friendly. The pathway was cut off by barriers.
A shuttle bus back and forth to the city would have been more functional as other facilities have shuttle buses for free even if a booking every hour would have made a difference.
People had been smoking in the lifts and the ash trays hadn’t been emptied. The smell was so bad.
When food is being handled by staff , tongs and plastic gloves should be used for hygiene.

Everybody was really friendly and helpful. I always book this hotel when I have to attend FACTS. Everytime, it was a nice stay. Restaurant staff and rhe front office staff are always so helpful and nice.

Parking was easy.
Clean room
-Parking was easy but expensive. Close to daily parking price in the downtown.
-Room was way older than what was displayed in the photos also smaller than my expectation.
- navigation to the hotel was tricky in the EXPO loop

Staff team were lovely
The room we stayed in was very out dated , it was still nice

The staff were truly outstanding, super friendly, helpful, and proactive from check-in to check-out. Despite the hotel undergoing major renovations, it was surprisingly quiet with no construction noise. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide and fresh selection. We also appreciated the parking just outside and inside the parking barrier, which felt safe and was very convenient.
Our first and second room had mold in the bathroom, likely due to poor ventilation. The AC was not working in the first room, and the room faced an enclosed area, so there was no fresh air. We were moved to another room, but it faced the lake opening the window wasn’t an option because of mosquitoes.

The bed was comfy and air conditioning
Had to pay for parking even though it was a gravel unkept car park, very out dated decor everywhere except reception, shower was rubbish (kept going hot and cold and was not powerful at all), TV was of poor quality and kept going pixelated (wouldn't rescan to find the channels so some were lost) scaffolding everywhere so unable to open windows, very hard to find the actual hotel. Disappointing stay at a hotel chain we have enjoyed in the past.

Rooms are quiet, comfortable & selflessly clean. In room fridge is a plus. Nice variety for breakfast in spacious dining area
Air conditioning was noisy.

Basic but comfy. Plenty of non height restricted parking. Clean room and ensuite bathroom.
Entrance on first floor, so if there is no parking up there you have to carry all your things from the ground floor car park up the stone steps.

The only thing which was great was the staff. I thank each one of them for thier services.
The breakfast was very basic. the refill of finished food items was very bad. I was told multiple times that the bread was over and could not be refilled. I had booked an executive room. The room is old and the electricals dont work. There was an extension cord which was given to connect. Once you switch off the main switch, everything goes off. I paid 670 EUR for 3 nights + I paid extra for the breakfast. At this price, the facilities were really below average

Nice and clean. Good breakfast.
Machines at the gym were very old. I found the price a bit too high for this hotel.

The breakfast is ok for the price, staff is friendly and helpful. Location is very good if you need to be at the exhibition center.
Totally outdated hotel, needs renovation, the rooms are old, not very nice to stay but ok for one night.

Good location beside the Expo and quick access to regular tram in to town. Large rooms and good shower/bath (A little moldy and used by the tap area).
Room was very hot and stuffy. (It was -1 degree outside) Windows could not be open to let in fresh air. The chiller on the AC was centrally turned off so I couldn't cool the room down. Complaint to staff went unactioned. No bottles of water in room - just expensive ones available behind reception. No egg options other than scrambled. Bizar white sausages.

Everything
Nothing that I can think of
8.0 / 10.0
The location next to the trams is ideal for visiting Gent, prices are OK.
Vegetarian selection at breakfast nearly Nonexistent and vegans appear to be a forgotten breed.
Long term cleanliness in our room was questionable, dead mosquito in the curtain and corners in the bathroom have been holding dirt for some time ...needs a deep clean,we stripped our bed on the last morning to find old stains on the duvet, mattress protector and a pillow. There were teams from various European countries taking part in a hockey tournament staying in the hotel, some teams were courteous and respectful whilst others were arrogant and in need of a decent upbringing. The hotel did not make this known prior to our trip and upon arrival at breakfast we were directed to the dark dull far corners of the restaurant ,whilst the teams had the sunny atrium to enjoy.
We have enjoyed this hotel for around eight years now an will stay again next year, I could have spoken to staff about these grievances but have found around the world that social media gets to the heart of a problem quicker, and not one person is at the centre of the complaint, just everyone missing the ball a little each day.

Good evening was lovely and staff very friendly
Larger evening menu and to have food available throughout the day.

Staff was very nice. Breakfast was good.
The room was like a sardine can. We reserved a family room. The family room was a standard room with a pull out couch bed, which was horribly uncomfortable. The fridge had standing water in the catch tray that had all kinds of sludge in it. Could, nor would I want to use it in that state. The shower had mold. The hair dryer did not work. The toilet paper roll was broke. Overall this room was in bad condition and not worth the associated cost. The location is very challenging to navigate, as you have to go around this crazy loop system. They charge parking for a dirt lot outside the hotel. I would never stay in this hotel again.

The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was delicious and the staff was really nice.
Our kids loved the glass elevator.
The air conditioner was broken and dripping hence the carpet was soaking wet.
There is basically no hot water unless you let the water run for about 15 minutes.
