Great swimming pool, private beach with sun chairs, cleanness, location, family run hotel (very polite owner and staff). Tasty food in restaurant (lunch & dinner), parking. We will definitely come back!

Lakeside hotel with amazing sunsets, and excellent breakfast, perfectly located near Ohrid.

Lago Hotel is a beautiful place right by the lake with breathtaking sunset views. The pool is perfect for relaxing, and the location is ideal, just 30 minutes from the Naum Monastery and only 15 minutes from Ohrid centre. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and breakfast is excellent, served in a modern and stylish restaurant. The staff is very nice, and gave us a 'Macedonia' magnet before we left. They also gave us a free room upgrade :)

Great stay, fantastic staff

Staff was extremely friendly and always helpful. Room was clean and had a great balcony with lake view. The beach access to the lake was also great and extremely relaxing.

Bed comfort could have been a little better for such a hotel.

Good value for money. Great lake view and good food in the restaurant. Good air conditioning and modern rooms and bathroom.

You need to cross the road before reaching the pebble beach. The parking is rather crowded as others also use it.

Cosy boutique hotel, with convenient access to a beach and a good onsite restaurant

The pool was fantastic - with a small area for little kids and the access to the beach was very convenient. Very good breakfast with good mix of healthy options and to satisfy the sweet tooth :) The rooms were cleaned everyday and new towels given. The restaurant was very good- their pizza and Caesar salad was the best we had in all Lake Ohrid.

It was a little further than I expected from old town, and not many restaurants close by, when the on site restaurant opens at 2pm. many locals also use the parking so sometimes difficult to find a spot.

A piece of paradise

The hotel is located just on the shore of the lake and has a small beach on the side. Very clean and comfortable, the staff is very welcoming and supportive, and the food in the restaurant is great. The wine list is excellent as well. The most delicious tomatoes ever! We would definitely come back. There is a huge parking lot on the side as well, very comfortable. Everything was just perfect.

The breakfast should be a bit more well organized, but this is just a minor inconvenience compared to everything else.

Highly recommended, a wonderful stay!

A truly wonderful stay at Hotel Lago, we enjoyed it so much we extended our stay an extra night. The rooms were very clean and modern, with a beautiful balcony view. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant food was delicious with a wide menu and breakfast was equally as nice with a wide selection of foods. Sad to leave this hotel but hope to come back again soon! Highly recommend this beautiful hotel when coming to Ohrid.

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was spotless and beautifully designed, with a breathtaking lake view from my room that made every moment special. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful—especially Filip at the reception, who patiently assisted me with everything I needed. I really appreciated his kind support

Although the hotel is located a bit outside the city center (around 10–15 minutes), I personally found the peaceful location to be a plus. While public transport is limited and taxis may not always be available, having a car or scooter could make it more convenient. Still, this didn’t affect my overall experience. Breakfast was simple but fresh and satisfying—though it could be a bit more varied for longer stays.

Disappointing

Newly refurbished and clean with lake views. Comfy bed.

Definately not a four star and overpriced in my opinion. We were in room 19 which was badly designed. The toilet was practically in the shower, no space for a shower curtain or door to separate the two, so we ended up with a soaking wet toilet and bathroom floor after a shower. The bathroom was clearly an after thought in the design, it was the size of a cupboard with a tiny sink. Could only enter the bed from one side as it was pushed up by the wall so that the balcony door could open. Tried to change rooms the next day because of the terrible bathroom, but nobody at reception, not even when we checked out. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and small bath towels. You need a car to visit the town, there is just one other restaurant within walking distance. At the time of our visit (early May 25) the pool wasn't open and there was some building work going on, but the weather was too cold anyway so not a major issue for us. Worth checking it's open if this is important to you. It did say when we booked that the pool would be closed from Oct 2025 for a few months.

Great stay, would stay again.

We arrived late and left early, but the hotel was modern and comfortable. The owner upgraded us to a balcony room which was appreciated. The restaurant was closing as we arrived and we were the only customers but chef remained open for us and we had a lovely evening with great food supplied. Waiter was also very attentive and professional.

I’m speechless!!! I had a horrible pain in my stomach ( before checking in at the hotel ) and the staff took me to the hospital, helped in translation & stayed with me until they saw that im getting better ❤️‍🩹 can’t thank them enough ! Back to the hotel it’s brand new , very clean & the restaurant is a 10 !

Honeymoon Experience

Lago Hotel balcony-the place you can experience majestic sunset view over Ohrid Lake.

Hotel Lago is a new building, located perfectly on the water with a beach only few meters away. The balcony equipped with sunlounges and some with jacuzzi spa was perfect place to enjoy the stunning view over Ohrid Lake and the sunset. From the arrival and until our last day of stay, the staff and management at Lago Hotel made us feel very special. They even had a lovely surprise for me. When I and my husband entered the restaurant in the morning, the owner of the Hotel Mr Vladimir Aluloski greeted me with a box of chocolates and a bottle of Champaine. It was my birthday. The lady in the kitchen was so kind. It wasn't difficult for her, every morning to make my favorite coffee that was not on the menu. When I thank them, I recall the words of one of the staff saying to me: "We are all like a big family here."If you need something, just let us know. We are here for you. "And it happened that my laptop charger cabel was not in my bag when I needed it the most. Not only that a link from the shop in Ohrid I could buy the cable at was sent to my mobile, but even a taxi was called for me to travel to the shop. Macedonian people and their hospitality was on display in the best light-from the owner of the hotel and the receptionist with a friendly smile to the cleaning staff who was responsible for the immaculately cleaned rooms and bathrooms.

Nice stay away from the world

Very nice location if you want to be away from the world and near nature. Best surroundings and very near to the lake sitting area. Enjoyed the sunrise and sunset at the lake.

Superb

Location is great as the hotel is very close to the beach. It is easy to find (right off the main road). Towels were changed every day. The hotel has a beach where you can use their sunbeds and lazybags (they are included in the price). SUP boards were also available for renting. Beach staff was kind and helpful.

Breakfast was ok, but the coffee was not that good. Also, the hotel area is still in construction, but this was not a big problem for us, as it's still a new hotel.

Exceptional

The service level of the hotel is amazing! They're so sweet and helpful. The hotel itself is likewise amazing. View is great, directly to lake and breakfast is also very good. There's alot of parkering available even though I stayed peak season. Ohrid center is like 10 minutes away with car, which is nice for evening activities. I will be back here, that's for sure!
