Bad service and awkward room setups can really ruin a holiday in Ohrid.
Great location, with some rooms offering a very nice view of the lake. It’s convenient that the pool and the lake are next to each other, with no road to cross to reach the beach—ideal when traveling with children.
It’s really a shame that often when you're on holiday in Ohrid, your experience is spoiled by the people who live and work there. The level of customer service awareness is very low. It’s almost impossible to get a waiter’s attention, and the rest of the staff could certainly improve their behavior and communication with guests. Additionally, some of the room facilities make you question the reasoning behind certain decisions. For example, why is the toilet seat in a premium room placed in a half-meter square space, forcing you to practically kiss the wall to sit? Or why is the AC not working in the middle of the heat? We raised this issue in one of the rooms, and a technician confirmed that the AC was indeed not working, yet no action was taken. Meanwhile, the reception staff seemed unconcerned about these issues but were very eager to find ways to charge us extra. We even paid for an additional child at the price of an adult.

Nice pool. The breakfast was ok.
The staff was not nice or welcoming at all. They asked us for the age of the kids 3 times and wanted to count the 5 year old as 6 year old or the 12 year old as adult, when their policy says 13 and above clearly. They wanted to charge us for the sun beds on the “beach” extra. Their hotel was not even half full in the peak of the season - now I see why.
