If you want 4-star then don't go

I booked this hotel believing it to be a four-star property as indicated on booking, but in my experience it was closer to a three-star hotel, which was very disappointing. Due to the overall quality of the hotel, we decided to leave one day early. Although we paid for three nights, we only stayed for two. I requested a refund for the unused night, but this was refused. There were several issues during our stay. We found a cockroach in our room, and this was during winter, which raises concerns about hygiene, especially in warmer months. The extra bed provided for the additional guest was unacceptable: the mattress was extremely thin, approximately one and a half inches. I requested a replacement on the first night so we could sleep properly, but this was refused. I was told they would try to provide one the following day, but nothing was done. 3 of us ended up sleeping in 1 double bed. The welcome at reception was not very friendly. Additionally, after we left the hotel, I discovered that a free welcome drink was included in our booking. We were never informed of this at reception and only found out later by email/message. I was on holiday specifically to disconnect from technology, so I did not see the email at the time. I do not understand why this could not have been mentioned verbally during check-in. Another uncomfortable experience occurred in the restaurant. While the waiters were polite and conversive, their behavior towards my five-year-old son made me very uncomfortable, as they touched him excessively, and not just on 1 occassion. This was not limited to one individual, but involved two or three waiters, which I found inappropriate and crossing the line. After leaving the hotel, I received communication from them that gave me the impression they were concerned about receiving a negative review. Overall, leaving a day early was the right decision for us. Based on our experience, this hotel does not meet four-star standards.

One of the best hotels in Ohrid! It’s right on the lake and has a lovely spa. The staff are amazing, especially Elizabeta — she was incredibly helpful and kind. She even upgraded our two rooms from deluxe forest-view rooms to beautiful lake-view apartments. We really appreciated it!

My stay at this lovely hotel was restful and peaceful like being at home with all the comforts.

I liked that the staff were ever helpful, no task was too much however small or large. Advice and recommendations were accurate and well recieved. It was a family atmosphere that was comforting and familiar.. thanks for everything

Good location for beach access, charming staff and the lake Ohrid white wine was delicious

First night we had local cuisine and dancing which was charming. Good breakfast and spa facilities were good

As a childless couple we did find there was a lot of kids running wild around pool and restaurant but some people might like that

Nice amenities, but expected more for the money

Amenities were great, they have indoor and outdoor pool, with lots of sunbeds and the pool water was warm. The view from the hotel to the lake is very nice. Breakfast was decent.

We were hoping that the room would be nicer. Rooms definitely need some upgrading. Rooms could be cleaner, there was dust under the bed.

Comfort and outstanding hospitality

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel & Spa Tino Sveti Stefan. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, providing the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Ohrid and beautiful views to the lake. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with plenty of options. What truly stood out was the warm hospitality. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. A fantastic experience overall!

First time trip to Ohrid

The hotel shows signs of age, with dated furniture that has seen considerable use over the years. While overall cleanliness is maintained, certain areas have an unpleasant odor that detracts from the experience. The property does not meet the expectations of a 4-star rating. However, the breakfast is a highlight, offering a good variety and quality. Our room suite had a beautiful view to Lake Ohrid and this make out stay to forget all the issue of this hotel and also we have charge at 22kW for free the car :)

The hotel is quite dated, with worn-out furniture and decor that clearly show their age. Although the rooms and common areas were generally clean, there was an unpleasant smell in certain parts of the hotel, which affected the overall experience. Some of the amenities listed were not functioning properly (,weak Wi-Fi signal- 2 Mbps speed ). Overall, the hotel falls short of 4-star expectations in terms of comfort, maintenance, and services.

Location . Balconies overlooking the lake. Air conditioning was a good standard. Rooms were relatively clean. Rooms were very spacious. Adequate gym equipment available for workout.

Towels had musty smell, even though clean. No irons in the room available and so you are forced to pay for pressing services. Staff not geared up for arrival of guests. No concierge or bellhop upon arrival - we struggled with our luggage and getting it up to our 4th floor room. Spiderwebs in our room. TV not working in the second room. Waiter in the restaurant made a note to ask for his tip before we left the restaurant.

Some restaurant staff were a little rude, location is far from the city centre without a car, sometimes hard to get a park in the hotel car park, view from indoor pool is better than from outdoor pool

The pools are a huge plus. Inside are heated and all of them are clean and in good condition. Breakfast is good with plenty of variety but the dinner is ok. View to the forest was also nice instead of the lake.

Rooms are quite bad. The beds are really uncomfortable and you sink away in them like they have no support at all. Bathroom is small, showerhead doesn't want to stay in place and the door that swings inside makes it even worse. The AC was the first day on heating apparently because of the central system. They changed it to cooling but it was still super warm in the room with even the door/window open.

Pick the room which looking to the lake.

I miss different kinds of tea at the breakfast. The staff was very helpful and they try to do their best for us. We upgrade our room from the tiny claustrophobic room which overlooks to a wood get a family room overlooking the lake.

Great location, really nice beach in front of the hotel. Great accomodation and pool area, also we were satisfied with food taste in the hotel, especially dinner, where they also served Macedonian traditional meals, which was great.

I liked everything there, starting from the room that was so clean and good furnitured, excelent staff behaviour and welcomed until SPA and pool which was perfect.

Just to say something, Skopsko big and very good beer in the pool was served to me in plastc bottle whereas to other clients was served in krigel.
