A perfect family holiday

The cottage was very spacious and had everything we could need including a fantastically stocked kitchen, babies and dog things! Herdwick Cottages were very helpful. The location was great!

Lots of mosquitoes in the garden! And the upstairs shower had very low water pressure.

The Post Office theme is maybe a little overdone, but on the whole the property is well equipped.

A good choice of bedrooms, with combinations to suit all our family.

Cooker needs attention as the hob switches aren't in line with the correct settings.

Being with family and glorious weather made our stay fabulous.

We made our own breakfast as was self catering. Old Post Office situated top of a steep street, anyone with walking difficulties would have a problem walking into town and back.

First impression was not good, cobwebs on window sills and windows weren’t very clean, the garden was not tended and seating area sparse, barbecue rusty and not clean.

Nice Stay

The house is spacious and we liked the rustic style. It was warm and cosy.

Just a few minor issues: kitchen knives ate blunt and a couple have loose handles. The dishwasher doesn't clean terribly well and a set of full size wine glasses is needed.

Cosy, well stocked and plenty of space!

The living room was brilliant. Loads of space on the comfy sofas, bean bags and very cosy. The kitchen was well stocked with more than the basics (spices and condiments etc). All in all, we loved the place and would recommend it to any group who want a cosy place to put your feet up after exploring the Lake District.

The windows had been left open before we arrived. This meant there were quite a lot of mosquitos in the bedrooms and bathrooms which were troublesome. One of the beds smelt a little damp (top floor middle room with the single + double bed).
