Good, well thought out facility. Very well maintained, with loads of bonus features. The outdoor spa was really something a bit special! The automation was great, and made things very simple, and allowed us to create our own ambience in what was already a very nice location.
Communication was unnecessarily complicated. We received messages, emails, texts, and were told to use an online booking portal — but we were never actually sent the link for it. There was also a lack of clarity around the booking until much closer to our travel date than was ideal. One of the benefits of booking through Booking.com is having everything organised in one place, but that wasn’t the case here. The host sends an automated message saying they don’t respond to messages, and they genuinely don’t, which was frustrating and undermined what was otherwise a fantastic stay.

Easy to get to from Penrith, very clean, great surroundings.
£200 charge for 6 people to use facilities
£20 for bedding - difficult to transport when you’re coming by train
Heater not working in the comunal area
Access codes provided for one room instead of all 3
Early checkout at 10am

It is an area of the country that I frequently visit and happy to try again, hopefully improved. I do wish to try the social hub aspect - I understand sauna/jacuzzi need to pay deposit and pre book and can try next time. Place is quiet which is a bonus.
I have provided private feedback to the organisers.

I love the place
Our car park space was blocked by someone else

My door would not close properly and no one on hand to speak to

We really poves the place.. so relaxing
Just a little bit uncomfortable with the bed, but manageable

The pods were nicely situated - I was glad I was in the top corner so I had some privacy.
The car park was a long walk away. I moved a bed to make a double and had to clean the floor and sides of the wall where the bed was- the fly net has seen better days and the shelf in the fridge door broken so I had to lie my milk down on a shelf and it leaked the whole time.

The setting, in an apple orchard, is delightful. Accommodation and common areas are simple but appropriate to the place. Rooms have a kettle and a microwave. Bring your own bedding! Washing facilities are clean and more than adequate. If travelling in company, the braai stands would allow agreeable dining. There are plenty of outdoor tables.
My principal recommendation is that the lodge should have someone on site: to look after the place (esp. noise) and to answer questions. There is a telephone number, but somewhat Orwellian circulars by 'phone enjoining silence beyond a certain hour are a poor substitute for someone actually addressing the problem. Penrith railway station is walkable, albeit not a very pleasant walk, certainly not in the rain or with luggage. It is difficult to persuade a taxi to collect from the lodge. A simple shop selling basics would be useful. This is a lodge that probably works better for motorists.

The pods were spotless and the mini kitchen was perfect. Location was great and facilities were clean. Loved having the fence around the pod to keep our toddler safe. Really spacious site, perfect for our trip with friends. Loads to do nearby and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the road and train track. We cant wait to go back!
The only negative we had was that the toilet roll in the ladies had run out by night 2.

Good location for visiting places in the Lakes. Great quiet site. Great extra facilities that you can hire at an extra cost like the Chill Out. What a great place that is. Owner has put a lot of thought into the outside space with heated outside area and fairy lights and Alexa.
Bigger fridge in the pod.
10.0 / 10.0
We loved the well equipped pods with a decent sized fridge. The concrete stands for gas cookers and BBQs outside was really useful. The dogs enclosure worked really well for us. Also, being to book the chill out for a party was great 💯
The other campers filled the dog poo bins with glass bottles and empty cans and then this wasn't emptied. The sanitary bins were misused and became unable to use them. The chicken wire on pathways was a bit spiky and potentially could hurt a child if they fell.

Location was great pods were good the communal area was fab and hot tub bit was great value and a fun night
Beds are a little hard but are ok enough for a weekend
There is no one there staff wise to see if there is anything wrong but it stayed pretty clean considering we had screaming kids running around who were wasting water using it for water fights and not carrying who they hit who’s parents didn’t keep them in check but that’s not the orchards fault but if someone was there they could of said something x

Me and my 2 kids (8 and 11) had a great time . Nice accommodation. There was no where close for the kids to run wild ! My 2 love football cricket etc but no open space in or around the site . It would be perfect for couples and maybe slightly older kids . But we had a good time thanks
Field opposite was private so couldn’t use it. No where for kids to play football ! There was a small park on site but it was small.

We loved the location and how the pods made and placed
I can't complain really

Nice location, booking went smoothly and we had no trouble in finding our pods or accessing them. We had no interaction with the staff.
We were there for 3 nights, and our rooms were not cleaned or the bedsheets were not changed. Up to 2 nights, these can be fine but for the third night you really feel the dirt. The toilets/shower are in communal area and so I had expected it would be cleaned regularly however, the tissues were overflowing on the second day. It was cleaned on the 3rd morning but we had expected it to be better managed when it comes to hygiene and when you are with kids.

We booked the chill out area it was fabulous... very picturesque place to stay..
Mattresses not very comfy we stayed in a "3" birth hut... but a mattress on the floor when already very limited space didnt quite cut it.. small fridges not ideal.. only 2 faults

Location was good, cleaning staff was good
We was family of three, and we booked for three person but they gave us a place for two person. We showed them the actual booking where it was clearly saying that we are two adults and one 9 years old child. Picture of the room was showing three bed on booking.com web as well but they said everything is booked ,they can't give us a room with three bed. We had to mange with two single bes at the end

This place and grounds is well kept, facilities are good and it’s a nice location
There is a problem with flies. And there is no staff to monitor guest behaviour which is a problem when there are inconsiderate guests. Allows group bookings and so there can be a large group of men staying / in a party mood and then young families / couples looking for a quiet calm weekend.

Very relaxing atmosphere, staff made sure if there was any onsight problems you were informed by text message
Only issue was shower room with the movement sensor lights turning off.

The location was good and layout of the huts looked very smart. Bbq area in the middle with Alexa and heaters was a nice touch.
We arrived 8 minutes early and was told to wait till 3pm.....the time we booked our arrival before the codes would be sent for our 2 huts. They were not sent as we stood in the rain and called them 4 times. Got cut off the first time and then just kept ringing out.
Managed to grab a staff member and gain access to our rooms eventually. Codes weren't sent over till after 9pm or WiFi passwords.
Asked to move my van even though we had one vehicle and two spaces. I did try 3 weeks ago on two separate occasions to book my space in and let them know it was a long wheel based van with no reply. I messaged again the day before we arrived and got no reply again.
Kids hut was totally fine. Decent fridge, t.v and bunk bed and two lower beds. All good.
Our room had two beds which we put together and a mattress thrown on the floor which we moved against the wall as space is limited in the hut we were given.
Not clean in ours, tiniest fridge ever and just not really planned the space well at all. Flies squashed on walls from previous ppl who stayed, cobwebs and dusty plates cups and cutlery. We made sure WE cleaned up before we left and washed up properly.
Wasn't gonna let that bother us. Went out next morning for the day till 5pm. Came back to a fridge full of warm ruined food. Messaged Andy, and surprise surprise......not a message or call back all evening or today until we left. Had noisy group wake us at around 3 am on the Saturday too. Fly netting just thrown up as an afterthought and pinned in place so just wouldn't fasten properly without popping pins out. A half arsed effort on this hut really.
Absolute garbage customer service here and wouldn't return.
Not clear pricing on hot tub area till you arrive and wasn't about to pay 120 quid for the two of us or 5 of us to use it.
Seems like once they've got your money, zero f##ks are given regarding your stay or any issues that arise.

Had the basics that you need.
Great that you had internet in pods.
Communal area very good especially in rain still able to cook outside with music provided.
Fridge tad on small size but good to have one

Location
Didn’t realise there was no tv till after I booked. So took my own with but couldn’t get a signal. The shower block wouldn’t except my code the following morning, must have been a glitch cause worked that night.

It was very well presented, I liked the check in process and it was snug and cosy
The shower I used had a lot of mould I think that needs to be addressed , it was very off putting

Lovely hidden gem. We travelled on the train and it was a 20 minute walk to the site from Penrith station. Pod was extremely clean and so were all the facilities. The host upgraded us for free for a cosier stay. Very pretty grounds, and looked stunning with all the lights at night.
The showers had to be pressed constantly and kept going cold.

Lovely spot with everything we needed. Have recommended to lots of people already and will be back. Easy to get to with good access to the Lake District
Small thing that needs fixing- some of the pathways were uneven with raised chicken wire which tripped up our kids a couple of times, particularly near the toilet block and play area.

Good set up with basic facilities for camping/glamping
Extras such as hot tub are a bit pricey

We have just got back from having a family meet up at Orchard Hideaway’s and in the words of the children”it’s the best holiday they’ve had”! The place was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed plus more. The host was contactable if any assistance was needed too.

3.0 / 10.0
The place is quite well situated and not far from Penrith. The grass and communal areas are well kept and toilets and showers clean.
This was our first experience of "Glamping". It will be out last because of Orchard Hideaways.
So before we booked we had a good look at the website and all the facilities on offer and it looked inviting with the sauna and jacuzzi plus the chill out zone so we thought let's give it a go.
So we booked it. They have their own msging portal for enquiries so I asked about booking the sauna and hot tub as it looked on their site you could only book it for party's for £120 an hour .No Reply. I tried to ring them. No reply.
However we thought ok forget the sauna etc we'll just use it as a base to explore the lakes.
We were allocated Pod 6 Annie Elizabeth.
We took our little dog with us and Pod 6 has a seating area with a fence around it so that was perfect.
Now the bad bit. The interior is painted grey and as one reviewer commented looks like a prison cell with 2 beds.
The absolute worst part of the whole thing was the mattresses. They are clearly old and saggy. They are the type you expect to find on the cheapest bunk beds you can find. Each individual spring could be felt through the cover but they didn't offer much resistance or provide any support.
After the 1st sleepless night my other half said she could not sleep one more night on that mattress and wanted to leave even though we swapped beds both were the same.
I phoned the number given by message on arrival ( as there is never anyone in reception) and spoke to a male voice who didn't introduce himself.
After explaining our predicament the only response was they are camping beds and it's down to individual choice.
I said in that case we would have to leave would we get a refund. Not a chance.
So we started to pack our things up in the car and as we were doing so a young couple who arrived the previous day in the next Pod (it's a shed really) asked us if our lights were working as theirs wasn't.

It was clean for sure.
There is no staff on site to help during our entire journey.
The shower room has to pressing buttom to shower, after awhile temperatures get boiling hot. I understand it is for saving water. But it was so inconvenient it actually took much longer to shower and not save much water.
Fault information on booking.com. no bedding offered for £15 per person.
10.0 / 10.0
Excellent location, facilities and overall style and atmosphere.
the Chill out area was already fully booked - so we couldnt go in the jacuzzi. Maybe this could of been open for all during the day? Or have shorter booking slots?
