House - Sleeps up to 14 & Parking Available

We had a fantastic stay at this property – it was a real hidden gem. For the price, the house is incredibly spacious. There are five bedrooms in total, and although we only needed two, it’s ideal for a large family or a group of friends travelling together. The location couldn’t be better. It’s just off Skinnergate Street, so within literally a minute you’re right in the heart of Darlington town centre – super convenient for shops, restaurants, and nights out. One of the highlights was the huge living room. It gave us plenty of space to relax, eat, and watch TV comfortably all together, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped – you could genuinely cook for an entire city. It had everything you could think of: ovens, grill, blender, pans, plates, cups, tea and coffee, cleaning products, and more. There were even spare food supplies like cans, noodles, pasta, rice, sauces, and oils, which was really handy as it meant you didn’t need to bring basics with you. The biggest advantage, though, was the private parking behind a padlocked gate. It completely removed any stress about finding parking and gave us peace of mind about the security of the car. Overall, a brilliant find – we would definitely stay again!

In terms of minor drawbacks, the property is on the first floor with external metal stairs, which might be an issue for some people (although it wasn’t a problem for us, even travelling with a baby). The upstairs bathroom also didn’t feel entirely safe to use, as the glass doors couldn’t be properly closed, making it seem like water could easily spill onto the floor. That said, there is another bathroom downstairs with both a shower and bath, so it wasn’t an issue for us – more just feedback that could be improved.

A fantastic base for a large group — spacious, central, secure, and full of character. This 14‑person apartment offers a first‑class location, right in the heart of town with bars, restaurants, and activities literally on your doorstep. The secure parking for two vehicles is a real bonus, especially in such a central spot. Inside, the place is spotlessly clean, well equipped, and stocked with a great selection of games and activities to keep everyone entertained. It’s huge, genuinely large enough to accommodate a full group comfortably, making it ideal for anyone needing an affordable, practical base for exploring the area. If you’re looking for a boutique getaway, this isn’t the place for you. It’s traditional, quirky, and dated and that’s exactly what gives it its charm. None of these points are negatives; they’re simply part of its character and reflected in the excellent value for money. For groups wanting space, convenience, and a lively location, you won’t be disappointed. There’s plenty to do in and around town, and communication from the Manger has been brilliant throughout, thank you.

Excellent central location

The parking to the building was gated with a huge padlock that needed to be put on, this also needed removing to exit the flat on foot which was a faff. I didn't like the step arrangement at the top of the internal stairs but its an old building.
