Skiddaw Lodges- The Lake District

I needed somewhere for a short stay to attend a funeral of a friend in West Cumbria. I've stayed at this park before, so I knew it was quiet and pet friendly with a dedicated dog exercise area. I really liked the veranda, as I could keep the door open for fresh air as it was very warm. My dog could go outside, but couldn't wander off. Ideally situated for anyone wanting to use as a base for travelling into the Lake District and surrounding areas.

I struggled opening the keypad.

It was having all cleaning and toiletries and we don’t need to buy our own.

Actually the very first day , we found some issues which was sorted but it looks so hassle for a person who didn’t have idea about how to pressurize a boiler. There was not heating working as boiler pressure was zero and we pressurize it as per manager/ owner instruction but if somebody don’t have idea, he cannot do it. Also the ensuite toilet window was not closed , it was stuck which was sorted next day by a guy. And the hot water was not coming into ensuite. Which i manually turned it on by opening a valve with knife (to use as screw driver). But after that it was fine. Also the bed sheets looks dirty specially for master bed room on which we put our own bedsheet later on. But the overall stay was good as didnt face any issue after it. So i would say the property was nice , ensuite toilet radiator leaking dropped the boiler pressure.

The area was beautiful.

The Lodge was very close to a very busy trunk road with HGV passing throughout the night. We did not sleep well the first night. We bought earplugs for everyone and using these we slept reasonably well.
