Can’t wait to return here

This was the perfect place to stay. We’ve usually opted to book in the centre of Keswick but took a punt this time on being a little further out and had no regrets. The village has everything you need with some great pubs that do food, a fantastic shop / bakery / cafe downstairs (excellent breakfast!) and is actually quicker to get to most of the decent hikes. The room itself was a perfect mix of modern and traditional features, lovely and quiet with a fantastic bathroom. We will definitely be booking to stay here again.

Absolute gem of a find! We loved the location and ease of checking in. We were in the Cobalt room. Everything was spotlessly clean, beautiful layout, it had everything and more that we may have needed. A really comfortable bed, again spotlessly clean bedding, bedroom and bathroom. Shower was fabulous! Loved the little kitchen and all the lovely complimentary bits n bobs. Coffee machine was brilliant. Loved the window seat too! Thank you for making our stay a very special one.

Parking minor pronlem as bit tight on space near the village shop but could park a few minutes walk near the village school . Maybe mugs may be better than small cups and saucers and possibly bigger mini fridge .

Perfect!

Gorgeous decor, had a bit of history of the building embedded in the decor. Bed extremely comfortable. Everything consider to make your stay better. The shop downstairs has locally sourced food and the best bacon and mushroom butty I have ever eaten. Really friendly staff who can’t do enough to improve your visit. Local pubs to dine in. Keswick only a short distance away. Whinlatter Forest up the hill - great for walking and mTB trails - everything was excellent!

The room was cosy and very well presented with a great shower room. There was a microwave and stools for a bite to eat. The amenities were all of a high standard and aesthetically pleasing.

A really great place just don't advertise it as self catered.

The location and the cleanliness were fantastic.

It was listed as a self catered property but there were no self catering facilities apart from a tiny fridge and kettle. The pictures lead me to believe we could comfortably make a breakfast and packed lunch but this wasn't the case.

Personal touch, brilliant night's sleep!

The personal feel to the accommodation, exemplified by the shop underneath and the warm welcome received was the best part of the stay. The location is excellent and having a microwave was a nice bonus.

Just the low beams made for a few whacks on the head in the bedroom, but you're going to get that with historic buildings!

The property was a great size, easy to find. Room was beautiful and clean. Shower and bathroom was amazing.

Nothing! There was no designated parking, however the host was great ahead of time sending all details of where to park and we found parking right outside the village shop easily.

Wonderful stay

Extremely comfortable stay and well equipped room, very clean and beautiful views of the mountains. Staff were lovely and helpful, the tea room serves delicious food. Dawn’s biscoff shortbread is a game changer!

Only downside is not much parking in front, but there is space nearby there’s a car park which is a 3 minute walk.

Beautiful, comfortable place to stay while enjoying the Lakes.

Wonderful location in the heart of the village, right above the village shop. The bed was comfy and having the kitchenette was a big plus. Having nice views of the town and hills out the windows made it very nice to wake up there!

Parking can be a problem, with no dedicated parking at the shop and limited in street parking.

It was so cute and quaint, above the village chop/cafe, peaceful location. If you are looking for a real lakes trip away from the hustle and bustle, then this is for you!

The property was in a perfect location for our stay. Although there was no designated parking it was easy to find a spot. The room was beautiful. Very well thought out with everything you would need. It was very clean and fresh. Breakfast at the cafe worked well and was delicious.

The bed was perhaps a little hard for me, but would suit others. No negatives really.

A wonderful weekend away in a great location

We stayed for a couple of nights at the weekend for a break in a beautiful part of the Lakes. The Cobalt Room was comfortable and well cleaned, with everything we needed for a short visit. Loved the way it was decorated too with a cobalt theme. Comfortable bed and great shower. The village itself was in a great location with easy access for walking and several places to buy meals.

Fabulous stay , highly recommend.

Had a fabulous few days at Braithwaite house. We stayed in the Cobalt Room which was decorated beautifully and really clean. The rooms are above the village shop which has everything you need, plus a lovely cafe which is where you can have breakfast served by Daphne and Melanie who are fab and take the time to have a chat. The cafe is open all day for cakes and lunch as well 👍. It’s very central and only a few minutes walk to the local pubs and a lovely walks near by. Highly recommend and I am sure we will be back. Thank you all.

Geschmackvolle und sehr saubere Unterkunft. Wirklich toll! Man spürt, dass die Vermieterin viel Herzblut in die Apartments steckt. Genau wie in den kleinen Dorfladen unter den Wohnungen.
