New for 2024, the property benefits from a new ’up-market’ kitchen along with new carpets to lounge, dining room and passage.
There is free Wi-fi in the property. There are also USB charger sockets in the main bedroom and the lounge. With Chrome Cast in the lounge, you can stream from your hand-held device. All instructions on how to use this is in the front page of the visitor’s book. The pleasant village is situated within easy walking distance of Derwent Water, with all its watersports, and is only 1.5 miles walk through the fields to the popular Lake District town of Keswick. All around there are views of the mountains, from Skiddaw to Grizedale Pike and Cat Bells, with superb walking and cycling available locally (bike hire in Keswick). Shop and restaurant 100 yards, pub 75 yards.

This is our third ( or 4th) visit to Quiet ways. Chosen really for the dog friendly safe garden and the fact we can take 2 dogs. For the humans it's also good. Spacious clean and added bonus of 2 bathrooms and an extra loo.Love the brand new kitchen and lounge carpet.Off road car parking is such a bonus too. It's a 20 minute walk into Keswick with all it has too offer and lovely dog walk on the doorstep. We always come well prepared with food from home as there isn't a shop in Portinscale. Also bring a couple of blankets for the lounge as being open plan it can be a bit cool in the evenings Will be back again. Just a nod too dog owners please don't spoil it for other dog owners. Please pick up after your dog we always do and don't want to pick up after someone else's dog in the cute garden.

Great house so warm and comfy. Its in a good place for walking from the door. Didn't need to move the car. Loved it will be going again.

Very cosy and warm despite some awfully wet and windy weather for the length of our stay. Excellent location with a pub and café in the village. Superb walking trails straight from the door.
Our party of six adults all agreed we would not hesitate to rebook in the future.

Had another lovely week in this property, not sure if this was our 5th or 6th visit. We stayed here in November with a few niggles, but was very pleased to see all what we mentioned had been mended and cleaned. Storm Ciara payed her visit while we was there but this did not dampen our holiday at all, the worst of the weather was during the night. We had some beautiful walks around the lake, Braithwaite, the Bowderstone, Stone Circles and Latrig on to Threlkeld and our not forgetting our daily trip to The Kings Arms! Unfortunately Quiet Ways was already booked for when we return in November but will definitely book again at another date
