Boreland Loch Tay

Property was beautiful and spacious. Loved the fireplace and the way it was set up. Had a few essentials like washing up liquid, tea, coffee and sugar for a morning cuppa

When we got in the lights didn’t work on the outside or the hall at the door and because we were in the cabin near the back i had to use my phone torch to see what i was doing. When in we seen the fridge freezer was broke but they had put a mini one in which i thought was great but when i opened it i seen the freezer bit at the top wouldn’t shut. I still put my food in there but then the next morning my food in the fridge was starting to freeze over and also no side drawers for milk to be stored. The bedroom with the en-suites door had screws missing so handle moved about and also the carpet next to the en-suite had a mark from what looked like wetness. Kitchen had pots and a tray to use in the oven, plenty of plates and cutlery. Cups and glasses was plenty but a few of the glasses had chips in them and there was no wooden spoons, spatulas etc to make food so had to use metal spoons to stir soup, also the measuring jug had cracks on the side and bottom Sofa had a rip in it

The great room with a fabulous floor to ceiling window view of Loch Tay and a small cozy wood stove was the best part. Two bathrooms. There is adequate cooking utensils to prepare a meal. Close to the Crannog Center.

The location is somewhat challenging to find. There is no number address, just a name. Google Maps was not very accurate, so we had to search a bit. On arrival, we were uncertain we were in the correct cabin, and the doors were unlocked, so the key code wasn’t confirmation. No one in reception—eventually figured it out. This place needs maintenance! There are loose door handles, missing light bulbs, peeling floor laminate. The bedrooms are as utilitarian as they appear in the pictures. The showers have inadequate water pressure and the water heater delivers scorching or cold water after a single decent shower. The kitchen is in a shed behind the cabin, not in the building, and is not as clean as I would like (top of fridge covered in dust and bugs, weeds growing along the edges). The stove had only one burner that would remain lit for more than a minute. Fire door between entry and great room won’t close without a push and has no handle on the outside to pull it shut. They offered us a inflatable hot tub—for 100 something pounds—not taken up. This was the only communication with the host besides key code. Finally, I thought we would be closer to the town of Aberfeldy, but it’s 20-25 minutes out. Services here are very limited, so shop ahead.
