Great location, smashing views, amazing staff - especially Nyle!!
We were expecting double beds... NOT TWO SINGLE BEDS SMASHED TOGETHER!! This was the only downside to the holiday! I kept sinking into the hole in the middle of the bed! We would certainly come back... but would request better beds, please! Thanks.

Modern lodges all amenities were good and location was great

I loved everything about our stay — it was amazing from start to finish. The lodge itself felt like a mini home; it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was absolutely incredible, especially sitting in it while it was snowing. It truly felt like a home from home.
The beds were so comfortable, and the staff were lovely. We bumped into them while walking the dog, and they introduced themselves, checked that we had their contact number, and told us to call if we needed anything. When we were leaving, the staff were out clearing the snow, which was great to see.
My dog had a fantastic time too — the dog walks were amazing. We will definitely be back.
All amazing

Good location, lovely views. Bedrooms were warm.
Dirty dishwasher.
The living room was freezing when we first arrived.
Kitchen area freezing cold.
Dirty fork, dirty tea towels and an opened bottle of fizzy drink left in the kitchen area on arrival.
Oven was filthy and smelt unclean.
On our final morning nothing in the kitchen area worked - we brought breakfast things and had to throw them away as the fridge hadn’t been on.
The shower was disgusting. Dark marks on the shower tray when arrived.
The dishwasher wouldn’t work and had food left in the bottom.
Boiler wasn’t turned on which meant we didn’t have any hot water.
The door from the entrance into the living room didn’t shut which meant that when you left, the living room ended up being very cold.

Lovely view, lovely location, lovely lodge
Extra £125 for hot tub, go tub wasn’t included in original price! the bedroom with the bunk beds was far too small for 2x bunk beds in it, was very confined and not much room to move. The road uo to the lodge wasn’t great at all and not much light or signs to show you where to go especially at night time

The lodges are absolutely gorgeous. Very home from home vibes and very modern. We had 6 staying at the lodge but could accommodate 8-10 easily and still wouldn’t feel cramped. The staff were easy to get in touch with to help provide us with more firelight for the wood burner. Will definitely stay here again there is still so much left to see in the area.
There was nothing we absolutely didn’t like. There were a few of the facilities that could be doing with replacing (very very minor things) such as the dishwasher racks wheels are off the rail, the fridge shelves on the door fall off every time you open the door. The toilet roll holder in the main bathroom has come loose from the wall but not off completely. These are all very minor things and they would not stop us from booking here again, we are already talking about booking in again!!

the view from the cabin was lovely and the staff tried to resolve some issues
- The doors were all unlocked when we arrived, which was slightly concerning and made us feel uneasy, as we didn’t know if we were entering the right cabin or if anyone else would be in there. We later worked out how to use the locks on the door handles.
- The bins hadn’t been emptied from the previous guests
- The cabin was very cold and there weren’t any logs when we first arrived. It would be great to have these ready, or advertise that guests should bring their own, as it was FREEZING cold in the living room without the fire on.
- The fridge had a very strong eggy smell, which did put us off from wanting to use it the following days
- It may be best to advertise that the kitchen is basically in a shed attached to the cabin, rather than really being ‘inside’.
- The oven tripped multiple times when we were using it, meaning we gave up trying to use it the following night.
- The fire door leading from the outside hall to the living area doesn’t close by itself, it gets stuck and you have to pull or push it closed the rest of the way, which seems unsafe if it’s meant to be a fire door
- There was water leaking from the extractor fan onto the floor in the far bathroom
- The water pressure is also very low in the showers and the water only seemed to run boiling hot or freezing cold, they were quite hard to use when washing our long hair
- The door handle on the inside of the first bathroom was hanging on by a thread, the screws were very loose
- There were leaves in the hottub when we arrived and it had a slimy residue all over the floor and walls on the inside. This did make it a little hard to get in and out, as a few of us slipped.
- The second night we went to use the hottub, it had a very foul smell (almost like cabbage or brussel sprouts) and we’re unsure if any chlorine/cleaning products were in the water
- One of the photos online shows the hottub as more of a wooden jacuzzi style, we would’ve appreciated knowing it was a lazy spa before paying extra

Have a great stay the facilities had everything we need for our stay. We all thought that the cottage was lovely but needs upgraded a bit. Somewhere to hang clothes would be good. We had lots of wasps in the house which was a worry as we had a new baby with us.
Staff very really helpful and friendly.
Loved location and view.
Wasps in the house.

Good location
Unclean - beds hadn’t been changed, dusty throughout, cobwebs and lots of dead wasps on windows, shelves and sofas. Kitchen is under stocked - not enough cutlery/bowls/utensils for basic cooking and serving for the number it sleeps. Bathroom door lock broken and no working extractor fan in either bathroom. TV equipment is very poor quality.

The views are lovely and the remote location offered a wonderful opportunity for stargazing. The setting is undeniably beautiful and the house offered plenty of space for 7 guests.
The overall cleanliness and upkeep were well below expectations. It was evident that the property had not been properly cleaned before our arrival: we found clumps of long hair in one bedroom and a pair of socks left in another. The kitchen was poorly equipped, lacking basic cleaning supplies such as washing-up liquid, a sponge, or surface spray. Despite the property being advertised to accommodate more guests than we had, there wasn’t enough crockery or glassware for everyone. We also had to deal with a wasp problem — surprising for October — and later discovered a wasps’ nest on the side of the house, explaining the numerous wasps that came indoors during our stay.
The most concerning issue, however, involved two members of staff. One evening, while we were sitting quietly by the fire pit before 11pm, two male staff members approached us in the dark without announcing themselves. They silently stood behind two of our group until one of us noticed and understandably screamed out of fright. Given the secluded location and the fact it was pitch black, this approach felt extremely inappropriate. The situation was made worse by their reaction — rather than apologising, they laughed it off. The following day, one of them made a mocking remark under his breath as we walked past. This behaviour made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe for the remainder of our stay.
Having stayed in many similar lodges across Scotland, this is sadly the first one I would advise others to avoid. The poor cleanliness, lack of amenities, and unprofessional conduct from staff overshadowed what could have been a lovely weekend. With better management and training, Boreland has potential, but based on our experience, it fell far short of expectations.

The property had wonderful views of the loch. A very peaceful location, the cabin had everything we needed in it and more. Excellent heating system
An information folder regarding the property would have been helpful

Lovely property exactly what we were looking for with dog friendly facilities, great for a couples trip away.

The great room with a fabulous floor to ceiling window view of Loch Tay and a small cozy wood stove was the best part. Two bathrooms. There is adequate cooking utensils to prepare a meal. Close to the Crannog Center.
The location is somewhat challenging to find. There is no number address, just a name. Google Maps was not very accurate, so we had to search a bit. On arrival, we were uncertain we were in the correct cabin, and the doors were unlocked, so the key code wasn’t confirmation. No one in reception—eventually figured it out.
This place needs maintenance! There are loose door handles, missing light bulbs, peeling floor laminate. The bedrooms are as utilitarian as they appear in the pictures. The showers have inadequate water pressure and the water heater delivers scorching or cold water after a single decent shower. The kitchen is in a shed behind the cabin, not in the building, and is not as clean as I would like (top of fridge covered in dust and bugs, weeds growing along the edges). The stove had only one burner that would remain lit for more than a minute. Fire door between entry and great room won’t close without a push and has no handle on the outside to pull it shut. They offered us a inflatable hot tub—for 100 something pounds—not taken up. This was the only communication with the host besides key code. Finally, I thought we would be closer to the town of Aberfeldy, but it’s 20-25 minutes out. Services here are very limited, so shop ahead.

Location and the views
Very poor communication. They never answered the phone or reply to emails. Cleanliness, and the safety

This property took all our breath away. The property was more than big enough for us(5 adults and 3 children). The view from the property was breathtaking. The kitchen was well equipped and there is an 85 inch tv with Netflix. The fireplace was also great. Parking facility is available. If you are looking for a quiet place in the highlands and great landscape view of greeneries and loch, this is the place. We shall definitely go there again.
The dishwasher had a water supply issue that kept making a minor noise.

Setting was gorgeous, lodge was lovely contemporary but still felt authentic. Staff were great, nothing a bother.
Single bunk bed mattress wasn't the most comfortable but thats picking holes. Knives need replaced in cruachan as they literally couldn't cut butter 😂

Lovely location and having wood burning stove with firewood provided was great. The response time on emails was also good.
The property had been deep cleaned prior to check in, which is a good thing, but all floors still wet throughout stay including carpets and sofa. Had to lay towels to prevent clothes from getting damp on sofa and couldn't wear socks on carpets. Hot tub is advertised as optional but nowhere did it state an additional charge would he applied, so we thought it was just a case of ensuring you booked a cabin with one instead of without. Steep price of £125 when a few hours at local spa only cost £40pp.

We stayed in the 10 person chalet Schiehallion. Fabulous location and accommodation. Great for visiting the highlands. Boreland you certainly didn't disappoint! The chalet was clean and roomy and the view over Lock Tay was amazing to wake up to. We loved soaking in the hot tub (extra payment for this) and being able to have a BBQ on the decking was a bonus. The layout of the chalet was lovely and open. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms to choose from.
A few more kitchen/cooking untensils and a bread knife would have been useful as would utensils for the BBQ and oven gloves! The pillows contained lumpy foam so not very comfy. Nowhere to hang clothes apart from a few coat hooks. Okay if staying a clouple of days but not ideal if staying longer. A gate across the top of the decking would have helped contain our dogs. Worth noting there isn't a washing machine, iron or ironing board. We didn't need these but I would imagine those with young families might.

The view
Well equipped with kitchenware
No confirmation for arrival, did not know cabin we were in or a lock number, I sent messages throughout the day, no response, I called several times, no answer, we ended up arriving, nobody in Reception, we noticed a worker van and waited for him to come out. He quickly dealt with the situation, the email never did arrive, we noticed the worker left straight after our conversation, I don’t know what we would have done had he not been there, very poor and unprofessional.
On entering the cabin it was soon clear the only thing this had going for it was the view. The place was dirty, I had to clean it myself, the sofa was stained and covered in white hairs, the floors where dirty, the chair was dangerous, the leg fell off when sat on, I left a note on this, if it had been a young child or elderly they could have had a serious injury, trailing leads across doorway, health and safety, torn carpet in bedroom, trip hazard, fire doors should close on there own, it had to be forced closed, simple door closer adjustment, duvet stained, quilt cover and pillow cases clean but no protectors on the mattresses or pillows, we slept in clothes, fridge and freezer dirty and the smell was awful, back of fridge covered in thick ice, This place does not deliver the you tube dream we were sold on, It looks like it has groups of hen and stag parties resulting in the damage, the outside area is full of weeds, so glad I didn’t book the hot tub. I wouldn’t trust the cleanliness, furniture not maintained, did not want to sit outside, such a shame, we stayed out throughout the day and went back late on. Could be beautiful.

We loved the lodge we stayed in the views were incredible. So comfortable and the weather was so lovely for March!
The communication from the company is the only downside. No reply from any mails or answer phone messages.

The location, the scenery and the openness 🫶
It was quiet and not busy with people. You were able to hear birdsong and the local farm animals which was superb ❤️
There were times the Chalet was cold and we couldn’t really do anything about the heating.

The place was very clean and neat. Views were stunning. We reached very late but staff was available to help us find our cabin. Its away from city and remote area. If someone wants to have relaxing holiday this place is best.
Nothing I can specify..
4.0 / 10.0
The location and size of the property.
There was no freezer or basic kitchen supplies like chopping boards, etc. There was no freezer. The Showers were blocked and filled up immediately resulting in a pretty disappointing shower. The radiator upstairs in the 4 person single bedroom did not work and was not a great nights sleep. The heating wasn't able to be controlled. The chimney of the log burner was blocked and caused smoke to set off fire alarms and couldn't be fixed or used.

Plenty of room excellent value for money so much to do, fire pit, BBQ or cook a nice meal inside.

Great location with amazing views
It was incredibly expensive for the standard of accommodation. Two dishwashers broke, the house was unclean, many rooms had holes in walls and no mirrors above sinks. We also got in late due to cleaners not being finished.
10.0 / 10.0
The cabin was much more spacious than what I expected! It's probably much bigger than some people's homes/flats. It was well equipped, especially the kitchen, and very clean too. The place itself is absolutely stunning. We had a lake view from our cabin, there were also fields filled with sheep all around the resort. We only stayed there for one night so we didn't get to explore much but it looked like there was a lot to do. Self check in was extremely handy too!
The charge for the jacuzzi seemed a bit high so we decided not to use it.

Breakfast not applicable. The location is fabulous the lodges are spacious very clean. Well stocked in terms of crockery ect. Easy parking. Gloriously peaceful and set far enough apart from other lodges.
I stayed two nights in two different lodges. Both had uncomfortable beds . The double beds are two single mattresses and they are rolling into the middle. Schiehallion had a very noisy bathroom fan which was on all night. Be good to have fly screens on the windows so you can open the window and not be eaten by midges!
