The location is beautiful. It is remote and clean and everything you would expect from the wilds of Scotland. It had a small shop where you could find a limited supply of items if you needed some bits and pieces, although it did also have freefrom items which was an excellent bonus for us. We were out of season so nothing else was open and there was no 'entertainment', but that was not what we came for. It did also mean that it was blissfully quiet. However it was also very cold. We had packed appropriate clothing for the weather, but this should be kept in mind. The local supermarkets and petrol stations are at least 30mminutes drive away, but as we knew this we planned to keep enough fuel in the car.
There were some aspects of the property that could have been a tad bit better, like the one electric shower was a touch difficult to control, the hot water gets very hot, and one mattress was in need of an update. But the facilities in general were great. There was even a gravy boat and a drinks cabinet should you feel the need.

The view was excellent, one of the best hotel views I have had. Very close to the loch and nearby local shop and pub. The apartment was well-equipped, with cooking equipment, dishwasher and two private bathrooms. Also, the sauna was private and part of the apartment! It is also much bigger than expected and there was lots of space/privacy, even if traveling with friends.
The apartment was advertised as two double bedrooms but one was in fact a twin. Not ideal for a valentines weekend away. I would have scored a perfect 10 if both bedrooms were double beds.

Very spacious, clean, well equipped at an amazing location. Tranquil and scenic.
Many stairs was challenging for my elderly folks.

Spaciious apartment, scrupulously clean, an an amazing view. Everything you ight need is provided. Other than the below, it was hard to fault really
The show never properly worked (it was either freezing cold of boiling hot), and neither of us could get it to operate properly. The parking was alittle challenging at times as there wasn't sufficient space

The location of the property was amazing
The beds were very uncomfortable mattresses very wore and lumps allover.
Nothing included in the price for £120 I thought the use of the pool would have been included not having to pay an extra £75 to use.
The property is desperate for a renovation. They was a handheld drill left in the property which my 7 year old daughter found.
The location is amazing and staff were fab in the restaurant.

Location and cleanliness
Cold floor in the bathrooms but our stay was in December with the temperature outside being around 0 degrees

Fantastic view. The covered balcony is wonderful and gives you two seating areas in the studio. Kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need and super clean. We made use of the hotel pool/sauna/steam room which were all really great. I would recommend calling the hotel in advance to ask about their prices for this as it was a fixed amount regardless of length of stay. It was worth it for us as we were there a few days.
Recommend the Cornerstone nearby for excellent food and drinks in a lovely building - community-owned and very friendly.
the mattress was thin. We had to sleep on the spare duvet on top of the mattress. But everything else was amazing so this is just a small thing in comparison. If you have a bad back though you might want to bring a mattress topper.

I enjoyed the time away with the family in a very nice lodge
I didn't like the drive from Aberfeldy to Kinloch rannoch we had a 3 car crash and it sort of put a damper on the rest of the break
That road should be closed in this weather the outcome could have been tragic

The beds, both the fixed and the sofa bed were very uncomfortable

The view was stunning, the apartment was relaxing and the restaurant food was very tasty. The staff were great, after my mistake (rented a studio for 4 people and a dog, doh!) they were able to upgrade my apartment for a more suitable one and for a good cost.

Fantastic location and view across loch rannoch from the very pleasant enclosed balcony
Pull out bed slightly uncomfortable and had large gaps so adults slept in it instead of younger children

The position and layout was great for our short weekend

The view over the loch was stunning but you could sleep in your car with that view for free and be 100% more comfortable.
I have delayed providing a review as we were so disappointed we couldn't bear to put it in writing but other people need to know. Don't be fooled by the star ratings or the photos on Booking.com. Seriously misrepresented. Read the 1 and 2 star reviews because that's exactly our experience.
Apartment 13 was a horrible, rundown, dated, uncomfortable, overpriced, smelly place to stay.

Our apartment was called pine marten 1 , the views are breathtaking and the apartment was super spacious and gorgeous . Bathrooms need a wee upgrade but I’m sure that’s in the plans . The rest of the apartment has been refurbished and it was lovely.

Lovely view. Clean.
No welcome package - e.g. marmalade/jam, milk, cookies… etc. Not even salt/pepper. These are basic and inexpensive items which would not only be useful for your guests but also provide them with a sense of thoughtfulness/care.

no breakfast supplied. Only 2 teabags for our 2 nights stay for 2 people. Location fantastic.
More tea and milk provisions for both days would have been ideal. Beds pretty tired and uncomfortable

Very beautiful view of the loch. Good size for a couple (we took a small unit)
The hotel next door was convenient for dinner although pricey. The unit is self catering and so this could be a better option if you are organised. The little shop in the village has most things you will need.
Perfect for walking, water sports and generally taking in the beautiful surrounding.
I would recommend this unit to anyone going here. Very good.
Also added bonus of coffee machine. :)
If I was to be really picky, Parking is very tight for big cars. But there is lots of parking available on the water front.

The best part of the stay here was the enclosed balcony/conservatory which overlooked Loch Rannock. It was great to sit in the sun having a drink and look out over the lovely view. Very peaceful.
WE did not realise that it was a pull out bed which was not very comfortable - very hard - and we kept banging our feet on the edge which stuck out.

Very quite not much to do if you want plenty rest relaxation this is ideal plenty of good walks
About 10 miles off the beaten track and in the middle of the nowhere, bring food with you as it’s very difficult to book into the hotel if you’re not members of the hotel?

It was a bit far from places we wanted to visit but we managed.

Excellent locations for a family holiday. Was provided for more than enough stuff for family park. Much better than normal family park properties I have been too. Also covered balconies with great views of highland and lake

It was self catering. Good facilities in the accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Great views of the loch.
Parking a bit tight in parts, especially when very busy, but that didn't spoil the stay.
Seemed a bit strange having to leave my credit card details at reception, (I guess it was for deposit if there were any breakages) even though I had paid by credit card.

Great location with excellent view of the loch and hills. The staff were kind enough to provide us transportation to pick and drop our elderly parent with mobility issues from the bus stop. Clean lodge with good kitchenware provided. The location while reached by public transport from Pitlochry still feels remote. There is hardly any place to buy groceries nearby save for a post office store and fine dining restaurant so need to be prepared with groceries. There is a new cafe/pub by the waterfall nearby which is very nice.
The beds in the second bedroom is quite tough and the first bedroom's one could be comfier.

The location was stunning sadly that’s all
Disappointed with our stay. Check-in was late and check-out was early — usually, it’s one or the other. No parking spaces were available, and I was called about my car despite another vehicle blocking me in. Spa and dinner bookings weren’t clearly explained, and we were charged £75 for just an hour in the spa. The bath had a black ring and filler, and only one tea bag was provided. I called in the morning for more tea, sugar, and milk, but reception was already closed. Staff communication was poor throughout. I regularly stay at and review similar places across Scotland, and sadly, this was the worst value for money so far.

Liked the free coffee but there was not enough for our group of 4 (one out of 4 pods was decaf).
Broken shower, rotten floor in spots, no food nearby or on site unless you are fortunate enough to get a reservation at the restaurant. Staff were snobbish.
