Good view and location but was really let down by the overall experience.

Location and view

The location is pretty good and the view of the lake is really nice but other than that it's pretty awful. We didn't notice so many poor reviews when we booked or we wouldn't have stayed here, but looking at them now it's clear that others have had the same issues and nothing has changed. We were looking forward to this visit but there really needs to be some improvements. Here are some things we had to deal with - The internet doesn't work most of the time, it worked at times but most of the time there was no connection at all. - The TV didn't work, there was no signal for any channels and it's not a smart TV to use any apps. - There is no heat only a plug in space heater. - No fire alarm, smoke detector or fire extinguisher. - There are HVAC unit's attached to the building that you can hear humming along at all times, but they aren't connected to the boothaus, as there is no heat or ventilation. It gets super stuffy after while if you don't open windows. - All windows are somewhat broken and either don't open or are really hard to close once you have opened them. - Bathroom door doesn't even close, let alone lock. - The shower head doesn't work, you only have a wand which is attached at waist level, there is no way to raise it high enough to get a decent shower. - No soap or shampoo provided. - Kettle provided but no tea or coffee. - No hooks or towel racks or anything to hang a towel. - The lock on the entry door seems to be backward or something so it's possible to get trapped inside. You need a key to open the door from the inside but it can be unlocked from the outside. When we first arrived we left the key in the lock as we were leaving again right away and once we shut the door we were locked in and had to climb out a window to unlock the door. This is very serious, if I wasn't able to climb out the window and reach the door I don't know what we could have done. We had no way to call anyone.

Million-Dollar View, Five-Euro Heating System

Location is quite amazing, with a great view on the lake. The shower is really spacious and the bathroom modern. Even though the apartment is small, it’s cozy and comfortable for 1/2 nights.

1. There are no radiators, and you cannot control the heating system. Only a small heater was available, but it takes some time to warm up the place. 2. Especially during winter, it can be quite cold, as cold comes from the windows and the door. 3. The duvet was a little short. 4. The bathroom door couldn’t lock, and the big shower head wasn’t working. 5. There is a fridge and a cattle but no tea or coffee. 6. The host doesn’t reply to calls.

breathtaking views from this place. we got rained in and it was the perfect little spot to stay inside for one of the days!

lots of spiderwebs and bugs but if you’re used to sleeping in nature like we are you’ll be fine!! it wasnt too bad it’s just an outdoorsy cabin so you’re definitely gonna have bugs

A nightmare indeed!

我們根本被拒絕入房!沒人接電話、沒人應門！慘痛經驗勿上當！ When we arrived, we found nobody in office and it was closed(We arrived on 16:30), ad we tried to reach the hotel keepers by phone, also none answered us(I called them six times). Since we could not get keys, we had to give up and found another hotel with new payment. This is our true experience, and we hope any travelers with sense do not book the Bootshaus am See again, they did not keep their promise and cheated us!

Beautiful location and property, but uncomfortable temperature in the summer.

The location is beautiful and it was very clean

Extremely hot which made it uncomfortable at night, even with the windows open. Would’ve been nice to have a fan in the room seeing as how they supply a heater for the winter.

Not good at all

Just the location was perfect.

And you cannot reach the host at all. The internet doesn't work. Moreover, it's a very simple issue, but we couldn't fix it because we couldn't reach the host. Additionally, there are a lot of ants. You pay such a high price, but the amenities are very poor compared to that. The host doesn't make any effort to resolve the issues.

Tiles seem about to fall off wall in shower. Tiles on bathroom floor uneven also. Floor coming up on entry to bathroom. Cold air coming through joins in windows. Better instructions needed to turn electric lock to unlock (not just lock). Everyone assumes handle is used, hence I guess why it is taped up repaired. Lost a load of time accessing room and hence carrying our heavy bags due to this.

Pricey stay for less than basic facilities.

The location is exceptional as well as the views and this makes up for the rest of the stay.

Make sure you prepare your arrival beforehand as it is a little complicated to get there. You must get the shuttle bus at P1. The used slippers and the fact that in order to avoid the cleaning fee, we had to clean up after ourselves (wash our dishes before checkout at 10:00am) made the experience less value for money. Please bring shower gel and shampoo as only hand soap and dish soap is provided. Have in mind internet connection is also non-existing as well as a non functional TV remote. Non spider friendly :)

Cool and nice view

The property locates near the ferry station walk around 5 minutes. If you have a large luggage, it will be challenging a little bit but fun!. Don’t miss the sunshine in the morning through the window, it’s really nice view!

Proximity to everything

Its too warm. No airconditioning but a fan could have been provided to guests knowing that its summer. A lot of cobwebs - small spiders by the window & ceiling !!!!

Beautiful view from bedroom window

Beautiful location and view of the lake in a very cute little cabin.

Dirty tissues under the bed and very dusty throughout. Shower drainage was blocked so the tray overflowed very quickly. Very hot with no fan and no sheet on bed only thick duvet cover. No coffee milk or sugar to go with kettle and cups. No shampoo or shower gels. And incorrect wifi password. Owners untraceable by phone or text. So no wifi either.

Proximity to central town and right in front of lake Hallstatt with beautiful views. Property was cosy and cute.

If you don’t want to sleep with ants and spiders, don’t sleep here

The bathroom is modern and the location is great with a nice view.

Here is a list of things we are unhappy about (for 150€ a night, that’s not ok): - ants: a TON of ants all around the room! they came in the bed so we pulled the bed away from the wall but some managed to climb. I didn’t sleep well just knowing that ants may be walking all over me. - spiders: if you’re afraid of spiders, don’t rent this place. there was a huge spider / spiderweb inside the room. we had to get rid of it. and lots of spiders around the the outside. it’s a very humid place so I guess that could be why. - no wifi: the wifi simply doesn’t work. - no privacy: the bathroom door doesn’t close at all - too hot: for some reason, the place is super hot so we had to leave the window open at night, knowing that there are mosquitos and spiders ready to come in…. - the window in the bathroom doesn’t open (broken handle) so thanks for the smell. - no beauty products in the shower. - crappy window blinds: window blinds don’t close well so be prepared to have a lot of light come in - the wood isn’t smooth so I ended up with broken wooden bits in my socks. beware not to walk barefoot.

Bathroom door doesn’t close properly. When we arrived it was hard to get hold of hosts to get the pin code for the key box as we were never sent a key code. They took a while to respond to our enquires but they did get back to us eventually.

Disappointing

It’s small but cosy. You need to bring your own shampoo and shower gel.

The key wasn’t in the key locker when we came. We called the number multiple times on booking and also the number in the message we got after we made reservation. It took one hour to get response, another hour to get the key ready.
