Iconic cozy home in the middle of fun and historic town!

AMAZING! Hundreds of years old, but so comfy with great beds and heated floors! It was such an absolutely fun place to stay in an iconic location. The water outside our room roaring by, the hikes right outside our door, the history, all of it! I won’t ever forget it! The Airbnb is above a store and everything is just so quaint!

Oodles of Austrian Charm in Old Hallstatt.

We had a great stay at Salzhaus. The location is great-right in the middle of old town. The apartment was truly unique with oodles of Austrian charm. Not your ordinary hotel room for sure. We had considered staying outside the old town, but are really pleased that we stayed here. The owners were very responsive and helpful.

Very little negative. One recommendation would be to put a hand railing on the wall for going up and down the stairs. It’s a bit steep for some.

Very nice

It's an excellent apartment with a great location. A mountain waterfall flows behind the house, and the facilities are complete. You can cook by yourself, which is really nice.

Because it's such a huge attraction, it's also very noisy. Not only from tourists, but also early in the morning when deliveries for the stores are made with trucks.

A Gem in Hallstatt!

We had a wonderful stay at Salzhaus! Although we didn’t meet the Tucek family in person, their warmth was felt from the moment we arrived — they surprised my husband with a thoughtful birthday gift that made our stay feel extra special. The house is absolutely charming, fully equipped, and beautifully maintained. Every detail — from the cozy bedrooms to the well-stocked kitchen and spotless bathroom — was perfect. The only thing we felt was truly missing was a second bathroom in the upstairs loft, which would make the space even more comfortable for guests. Still, Salzhaus is a gem — clean, organized, and perfectly located in the heart of Hallstatt. We’re deeply grateful for the experience and would gladly return in the future 🥰

Ideal Location, very spacious and traditional style yet contemporary with modern facilities. Comfortable beds, hygienic and felt homely. Excellent WiFi. Will definitely recommend.

Great location and beautiful town.

Had a nice stay at the property in Hallstatt! It is in a great location! The little shop on the first floor was not open while we were there (the end of March). There are also some steep steps to get up to the unit. The second bedroom was up another set of steps (not heated or the landing at the top) and was separated from the other floor. Also of note, there is no oven.

It was perfect.

The place is amazing. An authentic Austrian Mountain get away in the heart of an ancient village. The apartment is very spacious, and has a mix of rustic decor with modern comforts. Hallstatt itself has many things to see and do. From the museums to the amazing salt mine experience, walks in the forest and many nearby ski options. We will be coming back for sure!!!

Absolutely loved the apartment - specious, well equipped, perfectly furnished. Nice little touches all around. The balony was an extra bonus, which we enjoyed especially in the morning. Central location was ideal for us. The apartment owner was very kind and helpful.

All the Hallstatt charm in a perfect location with plenty of room!

This property exceeded all expectations. Perfect location. Historical charm. Plenty of room. All amenities we needed. One family group slept upstairs and had their own living room. We used the primary bedroom on the main floor. We were all together, yet had separation and space. Our hosts were EXCELLENT. You will be overwhelmed by the personal rustic charm. This was our favorite lodging over a 2-week trip. We will be back!

Historic stairs are steep and narrow. If you have a challenge with stairs you may consider other options. Historic doorways are low, I hit my head several times. Just be careful.

Superb

Location is great. Apartment is very spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 living areas plus a wonderful little balcony that overlooks the town. It is well set up with plenty of kitchen supplies. Although the building is old, they've done a nice job of modernizing it with heat, good bathroom and kitchen. It is a short 3 minute walk from the boat dock to the apartment. Once there, we walked everywhere-to the grocery store, the salt mine tour, a great hike to a waterfall etc.

We couldn't control the temperature in the apartment, which is a pain. We got cold, but had to wait until the store below was open to talk to a person and ask them to turn up the heat. They did this remotely, but then it got overly hot. I wish we could just control our own temperature. Also, just a warning that the stairs up the apartment are very steep. A little tricky getting heavy luggage up. If a person has bad knees or trouble with stairs or is unsteady, this isn't the place for you.

Location is very close to Hallstatt Markt (Schiffstation), and the house is very cozy and lovely. There's a fine view from balcony. But it's very tired to take luggage. No elevator and the house is on second floor, and the other rooms is on the third floor. And the kitchen can't cook.

Prachtig ingericht appartement, maar voor mensen met een beperking, minder geschikt.

De locatie was perfect. Ook de inrichting was creatief gedecoreerd.

De trap om het appartement te bereiken was erg gevaarlijk. Een goede trapleuning, vooral op het bovenste deel van de trap, ontbrak. Zeker voor mensen met een beperkte mobiliteit, was de trap gevaarlijk.
