Comfortable base for a Mosel valley escape

A nice and comfortable family-ran hotel in the Mosel valley. We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the whole experience from the beginning to the end, no serious complaints. The staff was very nice and helpful to us. The kitchen is extraordinary, we really enjoyed the breakfast and a dinner. The location is splendid, near Bernkastel-Kues and all the Mosel valley attractions, as well as easily accessible from the highway. We would return anytime in the future, highly recommended.

The restaurant kitchen closes at 21:00 and we were told off already at 20:40, that was a bit disappointing. I guess, it's because the hotel is a family run business, so we understand that the staff needs to leave for home at some reasonable time. At the same time, for certain type of guests (like us) a need to rush to have a dinner before say 20:00 during vacations is quite uncomfortable. Also, the parking garage is relatively small and during our stay there was not always a parking place available. But it's a minor issue as the large parking place at the riverbank is just a few steps away.

Perfect place to stay!

This is a very nice hotel offering great views on either the river or the vineyards. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are great. The swimming pool is enjoyable and the basement is great for relaxing. Breakfast options are perfect. Good food and great support from staff.

Dissapointing: bad service

Breakfast was good and the room was quite big. The food in the brouwkeller was good as well, but really expensive. Wine is €6,90 and hot coco was €4,50!

The service was very bad! Very dissapointing! There never is anyone at the reception, there is always a sign "be right back". If you ask anything you get a very short answer, as if they actually dont want to help you. Since again there was nobody at the reception I walked towards the resraurant since I needed help, i asked a question at one of the waitresses, she looked at me and then she just continued working and walked away, very rude! The only place where staff was kind was at the brouwkeller, but upstairs at the restaurant ...They could use a course "how to deal with customers". O and the spa only opens at 14.30 untill 21.00/21.30, that's not mentioned anywhere online. We expected much better service from a 4 star hotel, very dissapointing.

Hotel with perfect view on Mosel river

Hotel was really nice with perfect view to Mosel river, room size was really nice and it was clean. Breakfast in the morning was good also, not as various as in usual another 4* hotels but everything was really tasty. Both hotel restaurants served excellent meals. staff was nice and friendly.

Our room was outdated, it needs renovation for sure. There were no bathrobes and slippers, we asked for it in reception and they brought it to our room, but in check out time turned out that we had to pay 3 euros for each. They didn't warn us that this things were not free of charge. bed was not too comfortable, it wasnt double as we wanted but two twins standing together. Mattresses on bed slipped at night and I fell between them few times.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and spoke good English. First time visitors, sauna and pool was good.

The bed was a little hard, and we were disapointed that the salon was closed on the first day. People got naked in the sauna! YIKES

Wasn't the luxurious 4 star I expected from pictures on Booking. Outdated style. Felt the owners might not have really cared to make any improvements. Wifi was poor and no phone reception in hotel, although worked outside. No one available at reception in evening. Very limited parking, although there is a free lot accross road. Shower was very tiny.

War ok, wenn man kein Wellness Urlaub machen möchte.

Die Lage war top. Sauber und Personal war super freundlich. Frühstück und Essen war sehr gut.

Die Zimmer waren von der Heizung so überhitzt, dass wir nachts mit offenem Fenster schlafen mussten, bei eisigsten Temperaturen draußen zu Weihnachten. Und das die Sauna erst um 15:30 Uhr am Nachmittag öffnet war uns nicht bewusst und sehr ernüchternd, wenn man das mit gebucht hat. Darauf hatten wir uns am meisten gefreut. So waren die Tage sehr lang, wenn man eigentlich ein bisschen Wellness machen wollte. Sehr schade. Der Chef war sehr stur und unnahbar den Gästen gegenüber.

Prima schoon hotel met verbeterpuntjes, mooie locatie, zeer vriendelijk personeel

De locatie, hygiëne (zelden gezien!) en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel. De gratis parkeergelegenheid.

Een aantal dingen. Heel raar dat er geen "echte deur" voor de badkamer/toilet zat (was mooi, beetje Japans, zie foto's) Met als gevolg dat mijn partner en visa versa mee kon "genieten" van "alle activiteiten" op het toilet. Zeer storend ook dat de sauna dagelijks tot 15.30 gesloten was?? De badjassen moesten gehuurd worden.. Voorts kon op de kamer de frituurgeur soms geroken worden (slechte afzuiging?) Wat tegenstrijdig voelde aan de zéér schone en prima kamer. Niet uniek voor dit hotel, vaak voorkomend: koop een betere kwaliteit dekbed. Deze voelde als een plank. En dat voor een Duits hotel...

Uiteindelijk hebben we een superleuke mini vakantie gehad! Uiteindelijk kan je ook niet verwachten dat je eind januari

Mooie locatie met mooi uitzicht op de Moezel. De Braukeller zijn we helaas alleen de laatste avond geweest maar was ook heel gezellig! Een aanrader! Het eten in het restaurant is ook uitstekend, zowel ontbijtbuffet als het diner! Wel jammer dat we midden op de dag niet echt de mogelijk hadden om wat te drinken, maar wellicht dat dit tijdens het seizoen wel tot de mogelijkheden behoort.

De badkamer was alleen wel wat te klein. Als je op het toilet zit zit je echt klem tussen de muur en de douchewand. De douchecabine zelf is ook niet ideaal voor grote mensen. Het was allemaal wel uitstekend schoon!! Verder was het snachts ook niet helemaal donker in de kamer door niet helemaal verduisterende gordijnen voor het raam met buiten een straatlantaarn.

Ausgesprochen herzliche Gastgeber, tolle Mitarbeiter, gutes Essen im Brauhaus und ein schöner, moderner Wellnessbereich mit 2 Saunen. Auch das Bett war sehr bequem. Top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, meine Erwartungen sind definitiv übertroffen worden!

Heel erg genoten van de suite en het fantastische ontbijt. Comfortabele bedden, fijne sauna en een prachtige locatie.

Je moest de cleaning service voor de kamer aanvragen voor 10 uur smorgens. Ik vind wel dat je dit mag verwachten dat dit standaard gebeurd.

Die Toilettentüre war etwas gewöhnungsbedüftig da nicht voll geschlossen ,, keine Standard Türe“ sondern einige Teile zum durch schauen war. Als Pärchen kein Problem aber bei anderen Belegungen bestimmt nicht so toll.

Entspannter Kurzurlaub

Unser Aufenthalt im Weinhotel St. Stephanus war, wie auch schon die Male davor, richtig schön. Wir haben die Tage sehr genossen. Das Frühstück war top und die Saunalandschaft lud zum entspannen ein. Viele Wanderwege starten direkt vor dem Hotel. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr sicher wieder :-)

Keine Abwechslung beim Frühstück oder Abendessen, jeden Tag das gleiche, nicht zu spät kommen sonst gibt es nur Reste.Tiefgarage ist keine Tiefgarage sondern ein abstellplatz unterm haus im Hinterhof,Zufahrt und Einfahrt sehr eng, man kann nur rückwärts raus,im Nachhinein haben wir erfahren für zimmreinigung muss man an der Rezeption bescheid sagen,
