A great place to stay

The room was superb with a beautiful what looked like newly installed bathroom. The bedroom was spacious with a private terrace that had a fabulous view of Ascona and the lake. Very helpful staff and a we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. It has a comfortable well appointed lounge area on the ground floor and is tastefully decorated throughout. It’s just a ten minute walk downhill to the lakeside and some restaurants, passing some excellent shops on the way. The walk back required more energy but wasn’t too far.

It was low season so only a few guests though the hotel deserved more. The hotel had an electric car charging point but charged a flat rate whatever the charge, which would be a very good deal if filling up from ‘almost empty’. The road at the bottom of the hill passes briefly through the beginning of a restricted area so Satnavs tend to avoid and send on a circuitous route. But on checking with hotel staff it’s perfectly usable for traffic going up the hill.

Very clean, bright hotel with views to die for. Worth the steep climb to reach it on foot

Very comfortable room which was amended when staff had forgotten request for twin room for myself and friend. We were then upgraded to a balcony room with a superb view of lake maggiore and the mountainside. Could have sat there all day & night! Continental breakfast was very good with plentiful coffee etc, and hot options from the buffet also, plenty of choice.

Woud have like to make coffee in the room or to have complimentary water would have been great being a 4* hotel

Great hotel, nice location out of the hustle & bustle. Quiet & comfy room with good facilities. Check in staff very welcoming and helpful. Secure parking easy and plenty of space.

Waiting staff completely different to check in staff, very rude with everything a problem, made to feel very unwelcome, certainly wouldn’t advise using their restaurant, so much so we got up and left before even ordering any food and went into town.

The view is 5 stars but the rooms themselves are below standards for the price you pay

The breakfast was amazing — a really generous buffet with lots of fresh and delicious options. Definitely a highlight of the stay. The location is also fantastic, very central and convenient, but the best part of the hotel has to be the view — absolutely stunning and really makes the whole experience special.

What I didn’t like was that the hotel felt overpriced for the quality of the rooms. The rooms themselves were quite outdated, and the door was very thin, so you could hear everything from the hallway. The photos online mostly show the common areas, which are modern and well-kept, but they don’t reflect the condition of the rooms. The pool was smaller than expected and also a bit outdated, though still nice enough. The elevator was tiny and quite old as well. It seems like most of the investment went into the entrance, hallways, garden, and dining area to create a good first impression, but the guest rooms didn’t get the same attention.

Great hotel in heart of Ascona

Great place to stay uphill from city center with beautiful view. It has beautiful and green garden on site. We were surprised by apero offered for Easter Saturday. Very friendly staff, spacious room with balcony and view on the lake and mountains. Amazing breakfast. Walking distance to everywhere. Very good price. We will be back for sure :)

We had a really good time

The breakfast was really good and the hotel had option for lactose intolerance individual. We had an apéro before dinner. The food was good and the price as well compared to the restaurant outside the hotel.

A hiden eden garden & great value for money!

Quality and quiet place to be with great value for money. Very kind and helpful stuff that made you feel at home. Really good breakfast very quality and great variety. They offers us a free upgrade to a room with lake view with a big balcony. The stuff and the pool area makes the difference! Well done!

Rooms: rooms are spacious and comfortable. Location: the Hotel location is simply amazing. The view from the balcony and from the restaurant is stunning. Just worth the stay. Breakfast: good. Dinner. the restaurant, the Chef and the personnel is top.

Beautiful Views, Pool, Excellent Front Desk Service - A great stay

Lovely pool, good breakfast, great front desk staff. The rooms are spartan but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite good. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The front desk staff made reservations for us at restaurants in town at our request before we arrived. It was very helpful.

I think the wait staff could have been more friendly. We were never greeted or offered a coffee both mornings/at breakfast. We got our own coffee, but there was also cappuccino, etc and the staff never approached us to offer or came to our table either day.

A delightful stay at a beautiful hotel!

The breakfast was excellent with lots of options! It was lovely to eat on the balcony and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We’re used to a higher bed so the beds felt a little low but the linens were wonderful.
