Pleasant enough.

Gym, pool and wellness room were small but great to use in the morning. Room was functional.

Had expected something more 'grand'. I guess the place was posh in the past but has lost some of its glory.

Good place for fit people to stay.

Very nice and helpful personnel. We expected to be able to eat dinner in the hotels restaurant, but it closed at 18:30. This was disturbing as we came by public transport and due to knee problems we could only go from and to the hotel by hotel shuttle- but this service was not available after 17:00. That tainted the good experience somewhat. We ate in our room instead sharing dinner in a restaurant for my husbands birthday.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

I really enjoyed the pool, the gym and the special bath with massage lounges.

The breakfast look a bit meagre. It could have been better presented and there could have been more options for allergies.

Disappointing

Amazing views, helpful and pleasant staff, nice pool area

Advertised as all rooms with air conditioning which is not the case, I just had a fan. The restaurant was not open which I was not made aware of when booking. The rooms only had a thin curtain which meant I could not sleep from 5am when it started to get light. There was also no way to block out the heat from the sun. Overall I was very disappointed as it was not value for money !

Great value and great views

Stayed for 3 nights at panorama room. Great view and value for money. Room was very clean and serviced daily. Generous breakfast buffet, that was also supplemented during the breakfast, so even when joining in late there would be lots of food options left. Staff very nice and welcoming.

Daily towel change - our room had a note saying that only towels left in shower will be changed, to save water and resources. We never left towels in shower or on the floor and yet they were still changed on daily basis. We would have had nothing against using the same towels for all 3 nights.

Scenic lake panorama

Situated just above the centre of Ascona The Hotel Tobler enjoys spectacular views over the Lago Maggiore. The hotel grounds are spacious with green and leafy areas to relax in and take in the beautiful surroundings. There is an outdoor pool area with an indoor Roman bath where one can enjoy the warm bubbly water. During our 4 day stay, we had a comfortable garden room which is very convenient as parking is directly opposite and there is a small terrace and garden area in front of the room. There is ample parking at the Tobler Hotel and is included in the stay. Eating in the hotel dining room is a great pleasure as the picture windows allow guests to look out at the panorama of the lake and surrounding mountains. There is a stairway down to Ascona centre which is reached in a few minutes and the hotel is steps away from the hiking region through the nearby chestnut groves which at this time of year are glorious. The hotel also has a bike shed and guests can borrow bikes for an outing which is a definite plus as it means not having to be restricted to times when renting bikes from elsewhere. All in all, staying at the Tobler Hotel means not really having to use the car as everywhere is within reach and this makes it one of the best choices for a stay in the area

Having to leave the area is always sad but we are looking forward to our next trip

The view from the room is beautiful. Breakfast was very good. Getting back and forth from the hotel is a bit Difficult. It is better if u have a car. The hotel sits on a high hill, going down is easy but going back uphill to the Hotel is very difficult.

Fabulous!

Staff was very attentive and very friendly. All is being thought true in the room to make things easy from the coffee machine to the towels and robes for the pool and including bag to carry it all. Great choice for breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was excellent . We also appreciate much the welcome drinks, nice touch. Pool had many lounge chairs to relax and the whole place was spotless. We loved our stay!

Aufenthalt im Hotel alles in allem 2-3. Sehr gut die Sauberkeit.

Die Lage und der Blick sind gut, aber es geht steil den Berg hinauf. Wer konditionell nicht so gut drauf ist, sollte das bedenken. Herausragend war die Sauberkeit in allen Bereichen. Das Zimmer war sehr funktionell eingerichtet, wir hatten zwei Badezimmer, was für uns sehr angenehm war. Sehr gute Parkmöglichkeiten.

Der Komfort ist durchschnittlich. Die Betten waren eindeutig zu weich. Frühstück durchschnittlich, das Rührei fast kalt, kein Blümchen auf dem Tisch, der ganze Speisesaal eher ungemütlich. Es war halt auch Nachsaison. Aber das entschuldigt auch nicht alles.

Toller Aufenthalt im wunderschönen, herbstlichen Ticino in sehr gepflegter Umgebung.

Tolle Unterkunft mit wunderschöner Aussicht über den See und die angrenzenden Berge. Der Aussen- und Innenpool sind auch sehr schön und sehr gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel und sehr sauber. Der Empfang ist sehr freundlich und herzlich. Hilfsbereitschaft wird gross geschrieben!

35 CHF für ein Frühstück empfinde ich als sehr teuer. Wer nur wenig essen will (und keinen Brunch einnehmen), zahlt hier deutlich zu viel. Aus diesem Grund haben wir das Frühstücksbuffet nur zu Beginn genutzt.

Angenehmes Hotel

Die erhöhte Lage des Hotels ist sehr schön, allgemein ist die Lage für Ausflüge ideal. Den separaten Umkleideraum mit grossem Wandspiegel war sensationell, ebenso diente der kleine Kühlschrank und die Kaffeemaschine. Genügend Parkplätze!

Für den Preis hätte ich mehr erwartet betreffend der Ausstattung des Zimmers. Wir hatten ein Gartenzimmer, welches eher altmodisch eingerichtet war, auch fehlten schöne moderne Accessoires.

Eine Toplage mit sehr schöner Seesicht und privatem Zugang zum Zimmer inkl. der kleinen Terasse und kleiner Liegewiese.Der Shuttleservice ist top mit einem sehr netten Fahrer.Parkplatz direkt am Privatzimmer,sehr ruhige Lage ohne Verkehr.Die Aussenterasse beim Frühstück mit einem tollen Ausblick auf Ascona.
