Great location and nice staff

There are stairs to get to the reception and no one offered to help with the luggage. The bathtub had hairs in it when i checked in. The beds are not very comfortable and the sheets are cheap and uncomfortable. The pillows were very thin and not comfortable. The breakfast was mediocre at best.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and were left quite disappointed, particularly considering the high price point of CHF 560 per night. The overall experience did not live up to expectations in terms of value, comfort, or service. A major drawback was the lack of privacy on the terrace. Our terrace was on the same level as a common area of the hotel, where e.g. breakfast was served to other guests. So we kept the curtains closed almost the entire time, which is a pity considering the beautiful view the room would otherwise have offered. Another downside was that access to the the sauna, came at an extra cost. Given the premium room rate, such amenities would reasonably be expected to be included. Additionally, the hotel does not offer its own parking facilities. Guests need to use public parking nearby, which comes with standard local charges and adds further cost and inconvenience to the stay.

Lake location and views of surrounding hills/mountains. Terrace overlooking the lake was lovely. staff helpful and friendly. Good breakfast Easy transport links bus and train. Everything was very clean and well cared for

Nice lakefront hotel

Perfect lakefront location with an amazing terrace. Very friendly staff. Mattress was confortable. Bikes were available for the guests to use, free of charge.

The shower could have been cleaner. You have to choose between 3 different slots to eat breakfast: 8 to 9 am, 9 to 10am or 10 to 11am. On the first day we went at 10am and there wasn’t much choices of bread or yogurt left. On the second day we went at 8 and it was much better! Would be nice to offer the same quality of buffet for all three slots.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at the hotel. Our room was exceptionally large, clean, and located within the Ascona lakefront assemblage of restaurants and hotels. It was a simply great experience and one that we will repeat on our next stay in Ascona. The view from our front door across the veranda and upon Lake Maggiore was magnificent. Staff members were highly professional and knowledgeable of the local area.

Our stay simply could not have been better. It was great.

Comfort at the Lakeside

Swimming pool & Wellness area. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Entrance has a steep staircase up to the hotel. We only found out later that their is an alternative side entrance where you can pull your luggage in. A sign would have been helpfull.

Very modern facilities, welcoming staff, location right at the main walking street by the lake. Free bikes the guests can use.

It was not the hotel's fault but there was a very loud music show in the street just in front, until almost midnight. The outside eating area has a nice view but there were many insects/bees which bothered a bit. Very busy area in the evening.

Nice Hotel in a Great Location

The hotel was very nice, the rooms were large and the views of the lake were lovely. There were many common sitting areas, including a very inviting outside terrace. The pool was a bonus - very clean and warm. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was good. Ascona is charming. We would stay here again if we come this way.

The long series of steps up to the reception. The directions to drive to the front of the hotel, while thoughtful, were confusing because the hotel is almost adjacent to an easily accessed street (where you cannot park, but could unload your luggage.)

Perfect in every way for 11 of us to use as a home base for our nieces wedding.

Great location, rooms were clean and well laid out, staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was perfect.

Great location, and our room opened onto the patio right on the lake. Parking included (we think).

Very rude and unhelpful staff, poor internal communication, second rate furnishings (we joked that we were staying in the Best Western of Switzerland), very expensive.

Would definitely come again.

The staff (especially in the evening) went out of their way to provide the best service and make sure we had everything we needed. They remembered the small details and we felt welcome. The spa facilities were excellent, clean, and we basically had them to ourselves during our stay.

The pillows were uncomfortable, as in they didn't provide any support, and the scrambled eggs at breakfast were not good, but the rest of the food available made up for it.
