Sublime stay at The Mount Nelson

Everything. Old colonial and new meet. Staff especially Sam(terrace) & Assanda(afternoon tea) who were just superb. Helpful and accommodating but also amazingly knowledgeable. Breakfast an absolute triumph. Choices and service second to none. Never had a chance to use the pools or surrounding outside areas unfortunately but looked unbelievable

An iconic stay at an iconic hotel.

We loved EVERYTHING about our stay at the Mount Nelson Hotel. Every staff member we encountered were a pleasure to speak to, especially the guest relations managers Warwick and Wellington.

There’s nothing we didn’t like. The hotel is fabulous and staff went above and beyond in every aspect.

Some things are easier if you pay less

One swimming pool just for adults. View of Table Mountain. Wonderful buffet breakfast and afternoon tea. Enjoyed the spa.

Unable to work certain room features- could not shut off the fan, the TV was noticeably different and unable to figure out the one screen which would elevate at the foot of the bed. Never got the expresso machine going.

Everything!! The staff were the highlight, they are so friendly and go above & beyond to accommodate you. The grounds are breath taking, the breakfast buffet was incredible and the food at the other restaurants was amazing as well! The best hotel we have stayed at.

Mount Nelson is truly an oasis, a beautiful gem offering world-class accommodation and warm, exceptional service that makes you feel truly special. The staff are genuinely welcoming and always ready to assist. A special mention to Sim in the Veranda restaurant and Michael, as well as everyone I had the pleasure of interacting with. As a solo traveler seeking rest and rejuvenation before starting a week-long program in Cape Town, I found this to be the perfect hideaway. I felt completely safe and cared for, and everything about my stay was five-star in every sense. I especially enjoyed the stunning gardens and the breathtaking views from my room.

What’s not to love!!! Having to check out was the only downside 😩

If you only ever stay at one hotel in the world, make it the Mount Nelson. The whole experienece was amazing from start to finish. Our room was lovely, spacious & clean with all the extras. The facilities were fantastic, heated outdoor pool, spa, tennis lessons available.....could have stayed longer!

My husband and I had an incredible stay in this beautiful, historic hotel.

The hotel is set in a garden with 100+year old trees with Table Mt behind it. There is a beautiful pool, tennis courts, a bar, patio for afternoon tea. Our room had a spectacular view of Table Mt.

We will come back! Top of the line. We did not want to leave.

I think it would be helpful when booking dinners through concierge if they can let the guest know is the dinner/restaurant will be a 2-3 hour meal. We would have passed on a few places because they were 3 hour lunch and a 3 hour dinner. That’s just too long for us especially with kids. But it’s not the hotel or staff’s fault, only a suggestion!

Most special place with so much history. Incredible staff. Unbelievable service. All of the smallest things are thought of. We were travelling with a 4 month old baby and on arrival a microwave and steriliser had been put in our room so that we could sterilise bottles. Also a basket of baby bathing products. The breakfast is exceptional. The pool and gardens are beautiful.
