With only four rooms in total, our stay in the guest house felt very private/comfy and there were times when we had the house for ourselves. The manger and the staff were lovely, and the view over camps bay is amazing! Definitely a hidden gem and can highly recommend!

An unforgettable stay with stunning views over Camps B

We had wanted to book a nice hotel with beautiful views for our final night in South Africa - Atholl House was the ideal choice for this. It completely exceeded our expectations from the moment we got to our room and enjoyed the gorgeous view from the balcony, to the moment we (sadly) had to leave. It is a beautiful house with all the amenities that you need for a perfect stay (balcony with gorgeous views, a fridge with snacks, water and welcome drinks, a coffee machine, a bath tub, among others). You can feel the attention of the hosts in every detail of the house/room. It is immaculate. Clean. Beautiful. Comfortable. Quiet at night. The staff was friendly and very helpful at all times, providing useful recommendations about restaurants. We also found the cards with information about the city that you can find in the room to be very thoughtful. Overall, we felt special - Atholl House was the cherry on top to a beautiful and unforgettable trip to South Africa. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful house with amazing sunset views on the bay and great comfort and service

Everything! Great view on the bay, great west orientation of the rooms enabling to enjoy the sunset from your room and balcony, beautiful modern house with vast bedroom and bathroom, very comfortable bed, great staff offering a great level of service and caring about making your experience as good as possible. Outstanding discussions with Ani who really helped us understand better South Africa and Cape Town and spent a lot of time with us. Fantastic breakfast. Location very practical to cover the various areas of interest of Cape Town by car, whilst being in a very safe, quiet residential area. Camps Bay as such is great, with probably one of the nicest beaches around Cape Town.

Construction work next to the house obviously impacting the experience. Still, starting and ending at very acceptable hour, so no impact on the nights, and it is a reality all around Camps Bay and other parts of Cape Town, so more something to anticipate than to avoid.

Short, sweet stay!

The host was extremely attentive to all our needs, and made me feel very special on my birthday. The house is beautiful and luxurious and we will definitely be back again.

We would love it if we could come back with our children however the home is unfortunately not child friendly.

Exceptional hotel in every detail

I've been wanting to write a review about this gorgeous hotel for a long time. I was impressed. Just amazing. The work that the owners of the hotel have done is incredible. In every detail of the interior, in every little piece, the care of the guests was noticeable. Thoughtfulness in everything. The refrigerator, flowers, fruits, slippers, jars of treats and all sorts of small things – everything indicated that the hotel owners had not just filled the room with some kind of staff, but thought over different scenarios of staying in the hotel and adjusted to them. And it is also visible and felt in literally everything that the owners are not greedy – everything is done with soul and high quality. It's impossible to describe everything – it was just everywhere. I noticed and appreciated every detail. It was very pleasant. And of course, the view from the room is just wonderful.

I wish there were some special offers for a long stay. Unfortunately, I had to leave earlier, as the renovation started in the neighboring building and it was very noisy. But I'm sure it's temporary inconvenience.

Beautiful property, views, and service, but construction noise took away from a relaxing experience.

The property, location, and views were absolutely stunning. The grounds are very well maintained by the groundskeeper (cant recall his name) who was onsite everyday and very courteous. Hats off to him for keeping up the beautiful esthetics! We used the hell out of the honesty bar which was super convenient and every day there were new baked goods available for all house guests. Prudence, the house chef, was literally the whipped cream and cherry on top for our stay. She greeted us, gave a tour, and made scrumptious made-to-order meals for us each morning alongside candle lit place settings. She also assisted us with check-out. She definitely deserves a raise/promotion for being more than a chef for this property.

There was one thing that kept this review from being a perfect 10. There was SIGNIFICANT construction noise 3 out of 4 days of our stay starting early morning until late afternoon literally right outside of our window next door to the property. We had to close one of the curtains to block the workers from looking into our room which took away from our view. We also had to keep the patio door closed along with closing the curtain all day to barely reduce the noise, but significantly hindered our experience. We couldn't enjoy sitting on the patio furniture and staring out at the view that we paid for. Now, we totally understand that construction is out of the properties control, but what really disappointed us is that there wasn't any mention or apology, written or verbal, from the onsite manager that, without a doubt, could hear it as well. We clearly stated that this was a relaxing anniversary trip (they did include a nice gift), so "sorry for the noise" or something along those lines would have been acceptable or am I delusional?!

This was our first time in Cape Town, and albeit only for one night, our stay was made incredibly special by Ani (and Prudence). The property itself is absolutely stunning, with a high quality finish. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and although we arrived in torrential thunderstorm, the balcony view was something else. On a beautiful day, I expect it would take your breath away. Ani couldn’t be more hospitable, catering to our every need, and making accommodations for our early arrival. Breakfast was homemade and delicious too - especially the scrambled egg. I couldn’t recommend Atholl House more - you absolutely must stay here! We wish we had stayed for longer.

Not sure where to start! We have been very lucky to stay all over the world in all sorts of hotels and boutique hotels. Atholl House has eclipsed them all. The property itself is beyond stunning, with a fine attention to detail to everything. It is spotless, the furniture is gorgeous, the bed super comfortable and the room is fantastic, along with the bathroom. Quality shower gels and shampoos etc and they do not give you those tiny ones either. Everything topped up daily. As for the massive balcony that has wide views spanning the Ocean, Lions Head, Camps Bay and to the left the 12 Apostles, it really is breathtaking. The very modern property is very secure and extremely peaceful and relaxing, having just 3 rooms. There is a beautiful pool too with quality, comfortable furniture which is a must have in the African heat! The breakfast laid on daily is really varied and wonderful, ranging from cold meats and cheeses and fruits, yogurts, granola etc etc and cooked breakfast if you prefer. The stars at night are like nothing you have ever seen, especially if you are from the UK. Incredible! The staff are wonderful and a special mention goes to the lady who runs it, Annie. The most amazing host, such a warm hearted lovely lady who you can tell really loves her job. She is a people person and is always there to help with anything you require. Annie by accident put me in touch with somebody who has literally changed the trajectory of our lives and for that I am truly grateful on a level you cannot possibly comprehend. If you want to have an amazing time, that is quiet and super chilled, you must come here. We have stayed in 5 different places in Camps Bay and found this to be the best for what we enjoy, which is peace, stunning views and the best of the best in terms of management ! Cannot wait to go back and will not stay anywhere else when we return to Camps Bay, You would be mad not to try it, I guarantee it, you won't be disappointed.

Old fashioned professional service with outstanding staff and facilities.

Atholl house is a jewel in the Cape Town accommodation space. Tine and Ani and the entire staff were so professional and attentive from the moment we arrived. The property has three very spacious rooms with all the comforts of home. Our stay in Cape Town was further enhanced by the local knowledge that the team gave to us. If ever considering Cape Town as a holiday destination or just a few days stop over, you could not find a more professional and comfortable stay.
