Perfect ending for a long trip around the Western Cape prior to our return to a cold / wet London!

The Bay Hotel is a Camps Bay institution! From the last time I was at the hotel, c.20-yrs ago, it hasn't lost its charm or ambience. Granted, its not cheap compared other places but you 'gets what you pays for'. However given the level of service, in general, and recently refurbished rooms, it all comes down to personal preference as to if The Bay is, or isn't, for everyone's budget. We had an amazing outlook onto the sea and clear blue skies. Great to watch the surf / beach activities as the wind picked-up and dropped and not forgetting the sunsets! One day was particularly windy but as we know, to be expected, in the Western Cape but this doesn't stop the enjoyment and relaxation at the hotel.

Not much really save a small amount of attention to detail when placing dinner / drinks orders which were quickly remedied and noted by the helpful manageress - I didn't get her name in full but she was able to deal with the small mishaps efficiently and without issue.

The incredible location … gorgeous views and literally on the doorstep of fabulous restaurants! Had spa vouchers and a welcome drink on arrival.

The bed is the worst part of my stay… it has been so far the less comfortable I had and that’s the only reason I did not stay longer, which would need to improve because so far this hotel has been my favorite one in Cape Town.

My stay at The Bay Hotel; 26/11 to 28/11 2025.

Fantastic location, breakfast, spa and sauna. The staff was exceptional. They were helpful and friendly. We were great full for the upgrade to a cabana room. We liked that our room opened to a private patio and pool.

Despite being upgraded to the Cabana room, it was at the end of the hall way and rather dated. The doors were misaligned and we could smell the sever from the bathroom drain. We had to cover the drain when the bathroom wasn't in use because black drain gnats were flying through the drain, which was disturbing.

Best hotel in the most beautiful location

This was my third time staying here and it was fantastic as always. It is in the most perfect location with beautiful views. The amenities are fantastic, especially the swimming pool. Rooms are super comfortable and the staff were super helpful with any requests we had. My favourite hotel in Cape Town. Already can’t wait for my next visit.

Superb hotel, good location and top notch service. Fiyona at the front desk went above and beyond for us, David at the gate was friendly, Simi at restaurant was sweet and welcoming Highly recommend this place. The gym is very modern and well equipped

Not enough chairs to have lunch by pool. Booked single beds and got double beds. Was only allowed check in after 2.30pm which was a problem. Nightly rate very high in comparison to other compatible hotels.

Great stay - definitely recommend

The hotel was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The hotel management were proactive, communicative, and very helpful. It was a great stay and I am more than likely to return.

The advice regarding wifi could have been more upfront and/or direct - in rooms or on checking-in. The service in the breakfast restaurant could also have been a bit more attentive. Beyond that, overall great.

Every 5 star hotel claims good service, The Bay Hotel delivered beyond what we expected.

Location is arguably the best in Camps Bay being right in the middle of a vibrant restaurant strip. The breakfast was delightful and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The view from our sea view room was exactly as described. Our dining experience was both delicious and engaging as the staff ensured that everything was "just right". Simple inclusions that many other hotels charge for made our stay even better. Like fresh milk delivered to our room without charge, the complementary mini-bar with delicious fresh juices and snacks, a breakfast box for our early departure.

The 4 days of Cape Town wind but there's not a lot we could do about that - its seasonal and very strong.

It was just ok.

The views are amazing

The staff is a bit slow. We requested for an ice bucket and it was only delivered after 2 hours. The water pressure in the evening is low, we showered in lukewarm water. We called reception and they said they will send someone from maintenance to come and check and they never did. We didn’t have a 5 star experience.

An amazing and beautiful location, right in the middle of everything. Fantastic staff. Great facilities. A very comfortable, spotlessly clean room.

The pools are a bit small, internet was a little flaky and the bistro is somewhat limited. But they're all tiny niggles.

High quality hotel in the centre of Camps Bay

The Bay Hotel is in an excellent location in Camps Bay, opposite the beach and in between excellent restaurants. The room are well laid out, the buildign is quiet and secure. The room has free wine and chocaltes for new guests.

The double bed was 2 single beds together. The water temperature in the shower was variable.
