Overall, very wonderful, and as we stayed at the Open House a second time at the end of our trip,

Our greeting upon arrival was fantastic! Yogi led us to their restaurant and provided us with a welcome drink plus snack. He arranged for a taxi whenever we needed one. Its location relative to the beach was a definite plus. Overall, we felt very welcomed at the Open House!

The humidity was a bit much. I would recommend that each room have a small de-humidifier that could be turned on while we were in the room. We traveled extensively in Bali and noted that several hotels had this as an amenity.

A hidden gem and I’ll be back

The feel of a designer boutique hotel. Rooms are light, spacious and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. A lovely cafe with really good food. Its close walking distance to the beach. Great position. And the staff could not be more helpful. Money changing a great service (at the correct rate)

Quiet, green and comfortable hotel

We enjoyed a short two night stay. The hotel was in a great location, clean, comfortable and with a beautiful pool and gardens. We’d stay again.

Unfortunately I do not recommend this hotel for a stat in Bali

I liked the small garden and the view from the room. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The rooms and everything in there quite dirty and the price was too big for what it had to offer. Very close to the beach but besides this the hotel is positioned on a street with no lights so you have really nothing to do than going to the beach.

Will definitely stay again as totally enjoyable

I really liked the fact it was reasonably priced and a small boutique property. Food was great with plenty of variety. We had a couple of lunches and a couple of dinners and were not disappointed. Complimentary breakfast was really good also. It’s a 20 minute walk along the beach to the seafood restaurants and was a 5 minute walk to our favorite fine dinning at CuCa.

The Open House is just that, off the busy open traffic into a delightful small tranquil reserve. Open arms welcome you warmly along with an enthusiastic highland terrier waggling tail, a great hit with the children. Effortlessly the concierge service relieves in of their luggage to the rooms, completes the registration process whilst being served refreshments at their open space beautifully designed Balinese style restaurant with open kitchen overlooking the pool. This is the central hub of the courtyard . Lined in one side by lush local flora upon which the rooms either open on the ground floor or their balconies face, the restaurant at the head and at the end the open library, massage and wellness spa pavilion. The rooms are spacious well lit, studio style, dimly yet tastefully furnished in the Balinese style. Great shower, great air con albeit too. The kitchen had a fixed a la carte menu, that was deliciously flexible to cater to the nutritional needs of fussy little eaters, and even my coeliac gluten free wife. The staff, and of course the proprietor, seen watering or clipping the jungle garden, are amazingly friendly and helpful with all aspects of one’s stay but advice on local sites. Jimbaran beach and multitude of restaurants are 100m from the door. The fish market, a highlight of our holiday simply awesome at 0700 when the small traditional boats come in with their catch. Checking out, simple, sad goodbyes after two final nights on Bali with the hotel organised car to the airport that took 15mins at 15Euros added to the bill. Great value.

The rooms have french style patio doors which we loved and kept open extending the space between our two adjacent rooms directly to the pool for the family. This meant negotiating mosquitoes at night, BUT we had travel mosquitoes nets with us which were easily suspended over the beds for peaceful sleep.

Very hard to sleep if the room upstairs is occupied as the floors are wooden and you hear absolutely every footstep. Bath towels need to be upgraded. It’s a bit dated. Rooms are small.

Restful, welcoming, and full of care

I arrived feeling sick and left feeling so much better—truly cared for and well-rested. The staff and manager were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, and their support really made a difference. The Balinese massages were amazing and definitely helped me recover from the flu. The spa staff were skilled and gentle, and I felt noticeably better after each session. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a highlight every morning, and the restaurant menu was full of great choices. Before I left, the team helped organize a trip to Uluwatu so I could make the most of my last day. It was the perfect way to end the stay. This place is more than just somewhere to stay—it’s a calm, welcoming space where you can really unwind. I’d love to come back.

Quiet area. Very friendly staff. Relaxing pool area with nice music from the cafe/restaurant area. Breakfast was a la carte - I recommend the omelette with side of mushrooms. Rooms are nice size, and pretty aesthetic. Very calming. I liked the local area, there are heaps of seafood restaurants around the corner, and local fish/produce markets. Would definitely come back.

Room smelt like bleach, but I think it has just been cleaned for check in. Smell went away after fan was on and balcony doors opened a little. Not a problem, but just note that the bathroom is in the bedroom (separated by glass doors).

Best relaxing stay somewhere in ages. Didn’t want to leave there..

We stayed for four nights and loved everything about our stay there! The staff were all fantastic, very helpful and friendly and their service was always just top notch! We ended up eating nearly all our meals there as the food was also exceptional. Their Beef Rendang was superb as were many other dishes and their desserts were really fantastic too!! We got them to organise our transfer pick up from the airport, our transfer to our next destination in Ubud and also a half day outing to Denpasar to visit the national museum. Everything was well organised and we had a really good stay there. The rooms are stocked with everything you need - and we got regular jugs of milk so we could make cups of tea in our room too. You can also order cafe lattes and cocktails to have by the pool - which is what you want when hanging out there to relax. It was perfect! I would highly recommend them as a place to stay in! Also some other reviews comment on the pool / it’s colour is because of the natural materials used - you only get “blue” swimming pools if you paint their lining blue! So -it’s lovely, clear and natural and it’s colours come from the type of stone materials used to make it! We just loved it there and we would definitely go back. We wished we had stayed longer actually and had less time in Ubud…❤️❤️❤️😊

A real gem of a find, we will definitely return,

A very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble, the welcome drink is my new favourite drink, so delicious and prepared with thought. Never received a welcome snack anywhere before so that was another lovely touch. We had a fabulous massage and just really felt very welcome and comfortable. We were sorry we were only there for the one night now.

great location, welcoming friendly staff. Calm environment away from noise - next door to amazing Spanish restaurant. All the little details in the room made for a relaxing stay. the pool is long good for swimming a few laps. Food is sensational- home made jams. they give the extra TLC to guests. they made early breakfast for us as we were leaving at 7am. highly recommend for couples and woman travelling solo.
