Sovereign Bali Hotel

Breakfast selection was huge. Plenty to satisfy every customer.

How mouldy the shower area was. And the carpet looked like it had never been cleaned. Didnt take shoes off even in the shower. Asked for a late check out was told no. Check out was at 12 they called me at 11.30. On check out I was taken back to the room because my mascara had left marks on the pillow case. I was mortified. They then had someone from housekeeping come with liquid to wash the pillow case. The mascara came off easily but they found a spot of something on another one and it was barely visible, I dont know what it was, and that did not wash off. They CHARGED me for a pillowcase!! Not sure why but this shows up as my husbands review!

We only stayed one night after arriving late from the airport but from what we experienced the hotel was in an excellent location, with a nice big bedroom and bathroom. We did not make use of any hotel facilities but we offered a free welcome drink. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has a driveway which is helpful when booking a taxi so you aren’t hanging around on the road to be collected. Hotel felt very safe.

They were a bit overzealous on their negative side of things which I understand all hotels must have.

I got the worst room - there was a building right in front of my window and there was no sunlight whatsoever in the room. It was very depressing. I asked to move to another to another room but the receptionist told me I had to pay a lot more extra. Why? No idea. So I didn't move eventually. Also the a/c was loud and I could hear all other guests through the walls.

Room clean and not expensive and rich

We used it as a transit since our flight landed late. The location is 10 mins from the airport however the facilities in our room seemed to be outdated. The staff were excellent and friendly. Also the had breakfast at the cafe next morning which was good

I’ve never been in a more damp and smelly hotel. The room was damp, the bed was damp and the sheets had 2 stains on them. Mould in the bathroom. On a positive note the staff were friendly and helpful even for our midnight checkin. Good location near airport. Probably won’t stay again even for a short stay by the airport. Breakfast was fine but not many choices.

We used to come here all the time but not worth it any more. It is close to the airport, but now that the airport shuttle is no longer included there are other better hotels nearby. Adjoining rooms were handy so we could be together as a family especially managing an infant. The roof top pool has always been great for kids and adults to watch the planes taking off and landing. Unfortunately the pool has been badly maintained or perhaps not been made to standard as I cut my knee on the bottom of the kid pool area where some grout had been applied poorly. My knee bled profusely for a good while as a large section of skin had been scraped off. I also noticed the life rings or floats were missing in case someone was drowning. Best to take care

We booked two rooms and thank god they were adjoining as my son and I could not sleep in our room due to the freezing cold temperature and the loud noise, we had to sleep on the floor in my wife's room which is the last thing you want after a long flight. We called reception about the cold and the loud noise who sent maintenance they pretended to screw something behind the controller which obviously did nothing! The room should not be available and unsafe to be used by guests as it was literally a freezer. We tried to sleep in there but I saw my son was getting sick so we moved into my wife's room who was nursing our infant daughter. Not finished, there is more! My wife's room smelt very badly of sewage coming from the bathroom, the shower temperature could not be regulated and the shower floor was dirty and slippery with mold, very unhygienic. Add to that all the towels are old and very rough! Not the plush soft ones I remember, perhaps they are the same ones, just 10 years old!! The Sovereign used to be called the H Sovereign and had a very good reputation and was always our go to hotel when flying in from Perth. It looks like it has changed hands and has not been maintained, either that or we were given the worst rooms in the hotel. Breakfast we remember as being a wonderful buffet, with western and asian cuisine, the western cooked cuisine was gone and it looks like they cater more for asian tastes, which is fine as we love spicy food. Our son on the other hand could not have any of the cooked food, apart from an omelette. They had a high chair which was good and I was able to buy a decent flat white in the cafe in the front. All up a disappointing experience and will not return or promote the Sovereign as we were not offered any compensation. Looks like they like to take your money and offer a substandard product.

The location of the hotel is strategic, very near the airport and so it was one of the reasons I booked here during especially during the traffic holidays in Bali.

The rooms were not so sound proof, we can loudly hear both rooms' TV sound and even the neighbors' conversations. I honestly didn't get a good sleep because the beddings were a bit dusty as well.

Convenient location close to the airport, perfect for a late night arrival. Room was compact but had everything we needed for a short stay. Convenience store located directly across the road which was open all night. Plenty of breakfast options provided. Rooftop pool and bar looked great. Unfortunately we were not there long enough to make use of it.

Room fitures and fittings quite dated but room was clean. The bathroom and shower in particular need some attention. The shower was not hot and was in need of a deep clean.

i am a repeat resident First however since Covid-19 while it was familiar it was under new management
