"It was the BEST possible location— right in the heart of the charming old town & easy walking access to the many sites there but also just a 5-10 minute walk down the hill to the pedestrian street wit..."

Quirky grand style. Top location. Attentive staff.
Parking arrangements on street in the old town were slightly challenging. There was therefore a concern that the rental car would be damaged. It wasn't but the worry was still there.

Excellent location. at the center of historical place.
I still wonder what other guests really like about the breakfast. I read excellent comments and had big expectations. Maybe breakfast culture is poor in Bulgaria, It was barely more than poor one.. I would mostly call an ordinary one.
8 / 10Excellent·Jul 2026
The hotel is in a prime location in the centre of the old quarter. The hotel is old & built on and into an ancient Roman wall that once encircled the city. The owner, Boris, has lovingly restored the building & it exudes old-world charm. The rooms are large and very comfortable.

The hotel has been lovingly developed with great attention to presenting a delightful hotel reflecting traditional Bulgarian design. It is located in the centre of the old city with the main attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel is built on & into an original Roman wall.
