It’s a shame!

The location.

Well, what should I start with? Parking - the hotel has NO PARKING. In front of the building there’s a public parking with so lesser places than needed that it will be a miracle to get a spot. I drove for almost an hour around the neighborhood to find a parking place, and it was about 500 meters away. Awful smell of smoke, dust, old carpets and furniture inside the whole building. And it’s quite understandable why- the interior obviously isn’t refreshed since the very beginning of this hotel, maybe 30-40 years ago. I remember these carpets, curtains, furniture, bathroom sanitary and everything, from the late 80’s beginning of 90’s. The only thing you could eat at breakfast is eggs. Everything else is the cheapest bakery and defrosted fruits. It’s a shame such a building to be in such a condition.

Classic hotel on the edge of the Old Town, great location and with parking. Rooms big and comfy, friendly staff.

The Trimontium was built in the 1950s and has a classic Stalinist style of grand architecture, large spaces, and solidity. Hallways are wide, staircases are grand, and the rooms are triple the size of today’s hotels. We could see Roman ruins outside our window. The garden restaurant used to be one of the best “see and be seen” of the Bulgarian elite in the old days. The pool in the basement has Roman ruins, and beautiful new mosaics. Parking right out front. Breakfast was full and good. The young staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English very well.

It’s a bit worn around the edges, and could use some sprucing up and renovation. Some of the furniture in the room was about 20 years old. The access to the basement pool could be clearer. We were disappointed that the outdoor pool was closed (hopefully for renovation), as it was summer and hot outside.

no proper AC in 43 degrees outside called a handyman, he said "well it is better than outside" - yeah , no kidding not working outside pool asked us to pay extra for parking with no warning , and when we finally agreed to it, there were no spots available (even though we were told that they were) mold in bathtub no big sealing light

Plovdiv is a lovely city..we missed visiting the old city center beause of walking issues.

Plovdiv is a beautiful city...the soviet 50s style Hotel is huge with a beautiful lobby and ground floor...the rooms ought to be upgraded, old fashioned furniture and drapery...small flat screen TV for such a big room.

The quality didn’t match the price

Overall, the place felt old and poorly maintained. It was like the hotel from the movie The Shining. The shower was also broken, so we had to ask for repairs.Although it was very hot on the day we stayed, the outdoor pool was not in use and we couldn’t go in.The location, however, was excellent.

don’t stay there!

Hotel was very close to everywhere. Reception staff were very helpfull and nice.

Air conditioner was broken, hair dryer wasn’t working. Shower tap was’t working properly. Room windows were as dirty as they can be. Breakfast was totally disappointment. I feel pity for the money spent for that breakfast.
