Very good except restaurant and bar was closed

Very friendly hotel with helpful staff. The public areas were very well maintained.

We were invited to book their restaurant for our stay and received a couple of messages to book and even throughout our stay we received messages to book a table but when we arrived we were told the restaurant and bar were closed throughout August due to holidays. This was a let down as there weren’t any other decent places to eat around the hotel so we dined on some crisps and snacks from a supermarket instead.

Recommended for stay

The location is fine with about 6-7 mins walk to the train and metro stations. The staffs are kind and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable.

Electric kettle provided is much better.

The room and hotel were very clean, which was much appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and the location was convenient (with public transportation or by car) Overall, a nice stay.

Kept the bags after check out very helpful staff .

Good location for travelling around the city.

The hotel is well-located a few minutes walk from the T1 tram and the Metro. A mostly residential part of the city. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The communal spaces such as the reception and the restaurant are lovely - cool decor and a very beachy vibe. The food was great, and we got 10% off with our room booking.

The room was a bit smaller in person than we had expected, and had some stains on the walls. Overall it wasn’t bad though the room was still nice. Was quite a long walk to get to the restaurants and bars area but not too tiring.

wouldn’t recommend if you want to keep your own money

no clear information on the fact you have to leave a £100 deposit before they will let you check in, even when room has been paid in full. they will assure you it will be refunded in a maximum 2 days, but then tell you it may be a week. completely unacceptable

Disappointing

The outside of the hotel has a cool design, the lobby is very nice and clean. The receptionist at the entrance was nice and the check in was quite fast. The room was good, bed and pillows comfortable.

I didn't have towels in the room, nor a phone to call the reception to ask for some. Then, at around 1am I had a very upsetting surprise when someone was insistently and loudly trying to open the door to my room. They kept on trying for 5-10 minutes until I decided to go open the door and see what was going on. The woman outside apologized and told me she had gotten that room (so probably the receptionist mistakenly gave two people the same room). This was very unpleasant, upsetting and not to mention scary, to wake up to the sound of someone trying to force your door while you sleep. Since I didn't have a phone in the room I couldn't have called the reception if it would have been an emergency or I feared for my safety. The following morning I didn't get any returns from the hotel, not an email, not an apology during the check out. In addition, at around 4am, there was a lot of noice in the street in front of the hotel as a police patrol was apprehending a couple of teens, which is not the hotel's fault but it contributed to my dislike and disappoint. Needless to say it was an awful night.

Young and spirited without the perfect touch.

The staff at the reception was very welcoming. Same thing can be said about the waitress during dinner, the bar tenders in the bar. It was easy to find the hotel driving in from the South.

The room was just a little bit small, especially the bathroom. The mirror was not hung up straight and the TV was tilted when we arrived, which felt a bit dodgy. There were service personnel at breakfast that seemed very unexperienced, walking back and forth, seemingly without a purpose, not seeing that things could be cleared off our table. We think some training could come in handy!

Fancy water machine, big hit.

Loved the sparkling water machine in the hall near the lobby. Breakfast was amazing, worth the price. We appreciated the fresh honey off the honeycomb. Liked the foosball table in the lobby, too.

Perfect for the weekend

The sympathy of the staff and their willingness to help you is really quite unique! Also the hotel is located right next to Place des archives which is one stop away from Perrache, a central station for both metro and Scnf.
