The room was small for 2 persons but clean, comfortable beds and ok bathroom, access to room bad.

The location is excellent, close to 2 main squares, the river side, shopping, and not far from the old city.

Access to elevator was up a flight of 25 very steep steps, difficult if carrying luggage. Accessing the breakfast room was via additional even steeper steps. Breakfast items were good but basic, could have been augmented by cereals or eggs.

Great location and helpful staff

Great location close to Bellecour metro station. Friendly and helpful staff. Standard French breakfast is optional with bread, croissant, butter, spreads, yogurt, juice and tea or coffee. Narrow lift starts from the first level above ground floor, so might be tricky if you have lots of luggage (so request a lower floor for your room). For a 2 star hotel, I was very happy.

The bathroom facilities were a bit old, but everything worked OK, and it was clean.

The room was lovely and the air conditioning was greatly appreciated during the heatwave. The location was excellent and I was able to walk everywhere. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The location of the hotel was amazing, just a few minutes distance from the centre by walking. The staff were very approachable and nice, and the cleaning was more than enough. Also, the bed was comfy.

Since the hotel is located on one of the liveliest streets of the city, there was noise at some nights. Also, the building is very old, so are the rooms and the bathrooms.

A French classic in a 4-star location at a 2-star price

It was a classic small French hotel: located in the heart of a thriving district, distinctive, charming, intimate, with an optional breakfast at a reasonable price and a friendly, accommodating staff. There are amazing spots nearby, including public squares and the gorgeous theatre.

Great downtown location near the historic old quarter of Lyon (walking or mass transit) As well, very close to a subway station. Many restaurant choices within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff.

Great location in the heart of Lyon. Excellent AC, which was a relief during the heatwave. Some of the front desk staff seemed unusually cheerful, which I suppose is better than the opposite. A typical old-school European city centre hotel that feels dated in all the right ways.

The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything in Lyon. The staff are polite and accommodating.

The only improvement would be in the amenities in the room. Eg a face washer, shower gel, moisturizer, facial tissue

Good hotel at the center of Lyon

Excellent location, reasonably good breakfast for the price, helpful staff, good sound isolation from the street. They allowed us to leave the luggage after our check out. Easy connection with buses and metro to the two train stations.

The rooms are little bit dated, but nothing wrong with that.

Classical European hotel in the middle of the city

Bottom line is that I would stay here again. The staff was helpful, the the room was plenty big by European standards, location in the center of activities and the metro was about two blocks away.

If you have difficulty climbing a flight of stairs, this place is not for you. The elevator is only accessible after climbing a flight of stairs from the lobby. May cause problems with luggage. If you have no problem with stairs, this place is perfect .

Very well located, right in the middle of the city center, but not too noisy, at a stone's throw from Place Bellecour. Very friendly staff, copious breakfast with a large selection of baked goods and drinkable coffee. The rooms on the upper floors a light, not too small and well-cleaned.

A bit expensive with regard to the standard, which is moderate, without much comfort or extras. Also, a person not used to city centers might find the surroundings a bit noisy (Élysée Hôtel is more or less located on the High Street of Lyon), but otherwise this hotel can certainly be recommended.
