The hotel is very conveniently located near the metros, trains and trams which a big plus! We loved our stay in beautiful Lyon. The staff were very professional and looked after us well. We had breakfast at the restaurant too and it was great. Thank you for making our stay so welcoming.

I will never stay in the same place again.

The room pictures on Booking.com bore no resemblance to the room we stayed in. The lack of hot water on our first day of stay was also devastating! Upon check-out, they didn't charge us for our first breakfast as an apology.

Overall it was a decent stay! No complaints.

Well located, close to Perrache/bellecour with easy access to public transport. Plenty of supermarkets around. Cozy setting. Clean, well maintained. Staffs were kind and helpful. All spoke a certain level of English. 24h reception, which made things easier for early check out.

Not exactly my dislikes but certain things could have been better: For that price, I could expect a gym and a slightly larger room with a mini bar/ mini refrigerator.

A gem in Lyon!

Hotel du Simplon is in a fabulous location, within walking distance of sights, yet with a real neighbourhood feel. There are excellent restaurants and bakeries nearby and both rivers are a short walk away. The beds are comfortable, with fabulous pillows and snuggly duvets. Air conditioning works great. Staff is helpful and accommodating, with excellent English. The breakfast room is bright and cheery and the breakfast simple but generous. The building is quirky and homey and there is secure bike parking. We loved Lyon and would stay here again.

We spilled something and when we wiped it up, we realized the floor was not very clean.

Eve first receptionist very helpful and good Breakfast and cleaning staff great But watch out for the customer service at this 3 star hotel! Not much!

At such high price no free coffee or tea in room or lobby. When we asked if there was coffee in room or lobby our first day after a long walk in town. We were shown coffee automat. “Sure we have-let me show you how it works, coffee or tea, cups here’. When we checked out they CHARGED for 3 cups !

Unfriendly staff and wrong room

Unfriendly staff - we booked a room for three persons with three separate beds. In our booking confirmation it’s even a picture of the three separate beds. We got a double bed and a single bed. The staff said: ”It’s not my problem I only work here”. Very unpleasant experience!!!

We enjoyed our stay at this facility. The building itself was old, like most buildings around, but the interior design was renovated and pretty nice. The staff were always helpful and friendly. If I happen to visit the city again, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel.

Compact room, adequate for a tourists needs where they did not need to stay in the room for long.

Staff at front desk very helpful, particulatly Yasmine. Let me change rooms to a bigger room. Had a nice ambiance. Location was pretty good once I got used to the area - lots of small places to eat that did not require booking.

Initial room was small, especially the shower. Breakfast was only fair.

The location was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the room was very clean, albeit small. Overall we were very happy with our hotel choice.

The room was rather small and there was no bedside locker at my side of the bed for my book - not a big deal, but it would have been nice. Also the hairdryer was not great, again it would have been been nice to have one with more power in the room.

Cozy little hotel with great staff and nice rooms. Superb location, with lots of places to eat around. Private parking ( EUR 16 per 24h) is definitely an added value. Super welcoming reception team. Highly recommend for a short stay in Lyon.

The walls are a bit thinner than you'd like in terms of noise, But since the building is historical - and if there are no noisy guests - you wouldn't suffer.
