Sperone Hotel

Sperone Hotel is a tranquil serene oasis within a short easy walking distance to many restaurants and the old town. The pool was perfect for a refreshing dip after sightseeing and the sunbeds were very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and even carried our suitcases up and down the stairs on arrival and departure. I liked the mix historical features of the hotel with modern interior design and facilities. The use of glass panelling for the shower area combined with a privacy curtain in our room, maximised the use of space without making it feel cramped. Shower/shampoo and handwash gels were gorgeous! Aircon was great! Breakfast was good quality, hot and cold food, fruit, small croissants, which we ate on the terrace by the pool, perfect for us. Although we didnt use the spa, it looked amazing, very modern and clean.

The hotel accessed via a slight hill up a narrow pedestrian cobbled street which may prove difficult for less able people, especially with suitcases, but this was not a problem for us. There was only one small towel rail in our room, and no hooks, so nowhere to hang damp swimwear and beach towels to dry. We ended up using the hangers in the wardrobe. Although there was a lighting pendant on one side of the bed, which was aesthically pleasing, it was very bright. It would be nice to have more subdued lights on each side of the bed(s). Hot water ran out on a couple of occasions when showering but heated up again after waiting 15mins, not a real issue, but worth noting.

Last minute booking, we absolutely loved our time at this hotel. It has a cozy, relaxing setup with everything you need. Our room was modern and clean, the location of the hotel was perfect with a maze of restaurants nearby. The staff are really lovely, they always chat and are on hand to get anything you need. It was the perfect trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.
