Breakfast was awesome!

Not far outside of Omagh, the hotel offers a peaceful alternative to the town. I particularly liked the menu which offered a number of light and tasty choices. Finally the staff were very friendly, engaging and efficient. I will be returning at some point in the near future.

This is a pleasant and comfortable old-style hotel in which to stay. The staff are very friendly.

The location was good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was very quiet at night.

There was a strong smell of bleach upstairs when I checked in, although it disappeared eventually. The handle on the shower was faulty and a bit hard to operate. There was no telephone in the room. Driving back from a concert at 11 pm, it was hard to see the turn-off for the hotel as it was raining and the large illuminated sign by the roadside was switched off.

Location of hotel is really worth the stay

Although hotel is located on a very busy main road, the overall location is very beautiful. It's in Sperrins which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. I would say a breathtaking vista. The hotel staff members were very friendly and helpful, but professional. Plentiful buffet breakfast served in a charming restaurant Comfortable bedroom, although decoratively, a little "tired"

Noisy/faulty bathroom cistern which I reported on checkout. Had I have been staying for more than one night, I would have requested a room change. The receptionist was very attentive to my report and made a note to inform maintenance straight away.

The hotel location was fantastic, beautiful view, plenty of tea and coffee supplies, staff was lovely/breakfast was really nice.

The hotel/restaurant visually is not kept very well. Our room had mold in the bathroom, furniture looked tired, paint peeling and curtains falling down. We were in room 108 it might only be that room that these issues occurred. Dirty tap prints on toilet paper. I decided to have dinner at the restaurant but food was very poor. Carbonara with onions and penne pasta was disappointing. I feel bad to state what I said because I used to love the Mellon 10 years ago.

Weird smell about the room and hotel in general and maybe reason why there were scented candles lit all day in reception and bar areas. Had to leave bar as there were 2 large candles burning and inhaling their fumes was not pleasant. Didn't want to blow them out or would be even more smokey fumes. No water in room. Nothing major but would save us bother to go and get it as no telephone in room to advise. Loose fixture on window. Quite a lot of mould in bathroom. No bath plug, nothing major again but just another reason to go to reception to sort and issues with water pressure. Sometimes it worked fine and sometimes not. Bill in restaurant was incorrect and overcharged by quite a few pounds. Sorted it but shouldn't have had to worry about this. Was boiling in room at night. Carpets all stained in corridors Breakfast was such a disappointment. Hardly anything left eg white bread, apple juice and fried eggs and bacon were all finished and neither replenished until we asked. Mushrooms were burnt to a literal crisp. Toast machine took ages to toast the bread Overall none of this really was a bother to us as we are easy going but just wanted to give an honest review of what happened

Absolutely nothing the bedroom was grotty smelly and looked unclean we seen our bedroom and left

We didn't like the dated smelly grotty bedroom, no way were we staying there, we didn't feel we could even take our shoes of as carpet could do with a good shampoo, the room just felt and looked and smelt dirty. We also didn't like how they wouldn't give us the full refund we had paid 2 minutes before we seen the room, said they were keeping £130 even though we weren't there 1 minute, didn't like the manager's attitude

We throughly enjoyed our stay, and the staff are very friendly

We chose the Mellon Country Inn for its proximity to the Ulster American Folk Park, which was our main reason for visiting. We requested an additional bed in our room for our toddler and we also asked that our 2 rooms be located next to each other as we had travelled with my mother in law and we were accomodated in both of our requests. Check in was quick and efficient with the night porter, considering our late arrival. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were wonderful and took great care of us and were really good with our toddler, keeping her entertained with colouring and activities

Not much negative with this establishment, however, we were unable to get food when we arrived, but that was due to our own late arrival. We were recommended to order delivery from Just Eat but we were unable to get anywhere to deliver to us, and after 3 attempts we gave up. The only other issue was that there was no "walk-in" shower option, the shower was in the bath and this was not a suitable option for my mother in law.

The room was pretty tired and in need of a bit of TLC with worn furniture etc The main issue was there was no water in the morning so had to get a couple of jugs and wash in the sink (not what you need when you have several meetings in the day) staff where very apologetic and tried to sort something but not a great start To my day

Breakfast was very disappointing. The bowls used for cereals would suit a child. They are so small! Orange juice drink was the poorest quality ever! Buffet hot breakfast was very poor quality ie Potato bread was like pieces of plywood So dry and hard. Bacon was so hard and dry. My fried egg was so tough l couldn’t not eat it. I then ordered a freshly cooked egg which was fine No selection of fruit was offered!

A dependable hotel near Omagh.

Very good breakfast and in a lovely bright room. House martins busily nesting at the front of the hotel. These were fascinating to watch and I was delighted that they could stay too.

Fantastic service! Very accommodating A+++

The staff were amazing. We were back home for a family bereavement. The staff were so accommodating. Our arrival was early morning, and the staff went over and above their duty at 7.30am to get a room ready for us. We were travelling from England through Scotland all night and were exhausted. We were so busy, and they called me on my mobile to check what we wanted for breakfast. The food was beautiful and we would highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Omagh. 👌👍

The only little things I would recommend to consider changing is that the Skylight in the bedroom had no blind on it. We had no sleep all night due to travelling. We arrived at 7.30 am and would have loved a wee nap before starting the day. It was bright as there were no blackout blinds on the skylight, so we ended up not being able to sleep. Also, the miniature milks for our coffees really made the coffee taste tangy. Again, the staff gave us a lovely jug of coffee and fresh milk to take up to our room when I mentioned about it.. The orange juice in the breakfast hall is diluted orange squash. It is really lovely but pure orange juice would be better for breakfast. Please don't see these as faults but just preferences. Other than the above preferences, I rate the Mellon Country Inn hotel perfect! A+++
