Our stay

What I loved most was the food!!! It was gorgeous!! The Spa was to die for. I booked last minute for a facial and they were very accommodating too, each and every spa staff member said hello with a smile and they looked the part too. A big shout out to Patricia. She is a fantastic therapist, she is an diamond.

It felt dated, new mattresses are needed. Bigger wider beds also, the room is really spacious for such a small room. Too much furniture in the room thats not needed.

Lovely stay, breakfast was disappointing

Room was lovely, had a great sleep. The hotel itself is beautiful and I loved all the Christmas decorations.

The staff working at Breakfast were not very friendly and never came to take our order, we waited 25 mins and in the end had to go over to the three waitresses who were standing chatting to one another and ask if we could order (I'm assuming they forgot about us). Then we were told that there was no fish left, only whatever is in a full Irish which was disappointing. But the continental breakfast was lovely.

Great hotel

Lounges and dinning room are lovely. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had a nice variety. Location was perfect for us.

Ensuite bathroom needs remodeling. It is not to the standard of the hotel. Whilst our hotel room was spacious and comfortable, it took needs a facelift.

A lovely, gracious, full service hotel

Breakfast was perfect, with plenty of choices for variety over our three day stay. The hotel is lovely and the staff is gracious and helpful. The wait staff are young men and women who are polite, friendly and very attentive. Try the sea kelp bath at the spa next door!

The room had a seperate table & chair so I could use my laptop. The bed was very comfy and everthing was spotless. There was a terrific power shower & bath. The water was piping hot with great pressure. The water was also lovely to taste. There was a Wedding during one of our nights, we did not hear a thing and were not disturbed.

I found the room a tad narrow. I would have liked a little more worktop space in the bathroom. There was no safe.

always like the hotel but this time it was a bad let down on the bed part

have stayed there probably 6 or 7 times before and like the hotel generally

this time we stayed in room 225 and we had a function in town and came back to the room around 11:30pm and went to bed after 12, the bed seemed small to start, soon as lay on the bed it sank in the middle so head and bum sank and feet rose up and ye fell into the middle of the bed, neither of us slept well and both arose with sore backs, worst bed we have ever slept in, if it had of been the 4 in a bed programme i would definetly not paid full price for it but i had paid on arrival at the hotel, i challenge the manager to lie down on that bed and see how bad it is. we were very dissapointed and both with sore backs going home

Somewhat remote and expensive, not a four star room or experience for us.

Breakfast staff were pleasant , egg was a tad under cooked for me and the sausages where a bit on the catering side so not to my taste but there's plenty of choice and was a decent breakfast.

The Silver Tassie is a remote hotel so approximately 6kms from Letterkenny, a taxi is 16 euros one way into town, I had'nt factored in this extra cost so two nights 64 euros, my bad I should have checked the location before booking, the carvery is just a lunch option you pay seperately for starter, mains and dessert, which I found a bit odd. the rooms are spacious but the bathroom is so dated for a four star hotel needs a complete refurb, every time we flushed the toilet in room 102 you could hear it in Letterkenny, on our final night the fire alarm went off at 6am and then 7am after a big night out at the Summer Sessions, put a dampener on our stay, when checking out I had to mention this as no apology or explanation was offered, I emailed the manager who then apologised but no offer of recompense was offered for our inconvenience.

I stayed for one night and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again

Fabulous hotel

Everything, fabulous hotel, well situated on the main road from letterkenny, fabulous outside space, lovely garden areas. The hotel itself was excellent, well maintained. We were given a fabulous room, clean and comfortable, beds very comfy. Good tea/coffee tray. Bathroom clean, plenty towels and toiletries. Any staff we met were excellent, attentive. We ate great food in the bar, plenty staff around, again very attentive. Breakfast was very good too. Can't fault this hotel at all. Would recommend.

Nothing at all. I would maybe suggest USB points in the bedroom...we don't always have plugs when we travel.

I believe hotel had a four star rating - fell a long way short of that on our visit.

Room very quiet and when we asked for the bedding to be changed due to the room being very hot (weather unseasonably warm) the chamber maid could not be more helpful.

The temprature of the water delivered by the shower alternated between extremely hot to cold instantaneously. We stayed three nights, reported the fault after night 1 and problem, although plumber visited, was not resolved. Inflexibility existed in size of meal and wine portions - the measure delivered although asking for a smaller portion never was inflexibile - the way the dining room operated definite room for improvement.

Amazing breakfast - especially for vegans

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! They had a vegan fry up for me, and everything my partner could want as a non-vegan. Room was absolutely beautiful too, and we really enjoyed the bar and spa as well.

Comfortable one night stop

We thought we had been upgraded as our room was enormous with a full 6 person dining table and sofa also included! It was very spacious, extremely clean and quiet, being away from any road noise.

The food in the pub restaurant wasn't quite what we expected (we ordered the roast of the day) - having read so many positive reviews we had, perhaps, set our expectations a bit highly. The same with the breakfast - this was ok, but was nothing special.

The room was spacious and met our requirements for the stay. It was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good with a variety of options from a buffet as well as cooked breakfast if wanted.

Room was a fair walk away from the restaurant, but this possibly was a good thing as it was quiet. Both days there was a large laundry trolley parked in our hallway which we needed to squeeze past. Perhaps the housekeeping could consider putting this somewhere more appropriate.
