The location for cross country skiing cant be better
The kitchenette is rather small, ok for breakfeast, but not for cooking bigger meals

Beautiful building
Very old, it was very cold in the rooms, thermometer showed +16 +17 max, outside was -8. We was freezing inside the room. Uncomfortable, especially compared to that price.

Very beautiful hotel, with self catering residence and option of dining room if one wants to eat in. The staff are very friendly, approachable and very helpful. The place is very clean and the rooms were spacious, looked clean and newly renovated.
We found the location a bit far from the town centre and taxi's are very expensive to get to the location, costing around CHF211 or 295 depending on the time of the day. This was during the SnowPolo week. There's also buses into town which are very cheap and stop by a few minutes away from the hotel. If driving it's very ideal location.

Only the location and parking space.
The pictures are looking much better than what it actually is, our room wasn’t clean, the key wasn’t working at times, they say they have room service, but for a simple water, we had to constantly go downstairs and they didn’t have enough staff.. breakfast and dinner was absolutely low quality and I would not have it although coffee was good. Taking a shower wasn’t easy as the water would get extremely hot after you have it on for a couple minutes. We reserved the big suite, but it just didn’t have a trashcan in the room. I guess they were trying to save money. And the pillows are absolutely terrible and not comfortable at all.
I am not trying to be mean here and the staff was fairly OK but seriously whoever is managing this beautiful hotel is not investing in proper accommodations..

Spacious room and bathroom, very comfy beds. Quiet. Impressive historical building.
It a bit of a distance away from the main city. We went in October, the closest place to buy some grocery was Volg in Sils im Engadin. But it's ok since we went by car.

The hotel was reserved for group of religious people who came to pray and practice whole days and nights and hotel was occupied by them. Normally, such a religious group, has own restrictions that effect to other guest of hotel. The food and arrangement has to follow as per standards of such a religious guests. It is better for hotel to avoid accepting more normal guest when hotel reserved for such a purpose. Must pay extra to clean the rooms even if you stay longer period which is not a fair practice. No room service.

The building and location.
Chaira at the Restaurant is exceptionally good there.
Front desk attention.
Dog hairs in the room.
The electric appliances for the room are not the most useful. A coffee machine and a microwave would be much better than the stove and grill.

Modernized old style hotel with understated charm and lovely staff. Nothing pretentious about it, as often encountered in the area, yet very comfortable with a hint of old world luxury. You can't beat the value for a family stay in the area. Winter scenery surrounding the hotel is out of this world, and there is a lovely restaurant within walking distance.

Wonderful scenery and an awsome historic place/hotel complex - full of options!
On every occasion (several) we dealt with reception or restaurant personnel, staff was surprisingly unwelcoming if not impolite. Nothing to make one feel welcome. It wouldn't have taken much to take us in, yet much as I am a aficionada for historic places, quite the opposite happened.
The menu in our view can't be called that, I'm simply not willing to accept to be offered a can of white beans in a restaurant.
We were hungry, hence ended up eating at the hotel restaurant. I am rating it clearly below every admittable level. The fact that for a very low cost (pasta & lentils) and utterly simple dinner we spent the same amount of money as in a very nice, cosy, friendly restaurant with great food the following day, didn't help, us feeling gutted.

very nice location. lot of cross country skiing trails. in 15 minutes you can reach St. Moritz by bus or car. you have the feeling of living in castle at affordable price. liked the breakfast.
The snow in the outside parking area has become ice. it was very very slippery and the hotel management has to do something about it. also other travellers have left similar reviews

The big spacious rooms
The building is very old, you can see cracks at the walls. The breakfast was unbelievable BAD in quality and in selection. I have never seen this style of breakfast too bad. And the lady in the reception very impolite.

I loved the location as well as the amazing views!!
they should put more salt on the entrance , anyone can fall with the ice around while walking inside . The receptionist needs more hospitality , I asked her one question and got the nastiest attitude and shrugs .

The location is fantastic and the hotel is majestic. The hotel walls are lined with pictures of bygone era with people ice skating in front of the hotel. The nostalgia brings out a sense of this property not being what it used to be. We really liked the location and property.
The staff was relatively cold and uninterested. For a nearly empty hotel, one would have thought the receptionists would greet the guests going out and coming in. There was no breakfast, free or paid, which is a shame because it might have been a great experience to eat in a grand hall.

We were at the Maloja palace for a week, where we worked from “home” during the day and were in nature after work. This was a pure recharge!
We got a spacious apartment, with one bedroom and a living room, a very nice bath, two toilets and a quite practical kitchen area where we had everything we needed (including a multi functional electric grill). The hotel itself has this very beautiful, historic atmosphere, renovated with great taste while keeping the historical spirit alive.
The Maloja Palace is ideally located in a calm area, with beautiful views over the Silsersee and the Engadin valley. In winter, the cross country skiing track passes right from the side of the hotel, and you can go over the lake for an easier and panoramic experience or go on the more difficult tracks towards the south.
The hotel has very different offers, which are not easy to understand on booking.com where you mainly see different prices for the same room type but don’t understand why. I think that would be a good improvement…

the view, the location, the comfort of the room, the historical flavor
