Nice old chateau with beautiful garden and pool. Nice hostess, very friendly.

The venue does not come with AC or fans. During our stay it was very hot, which meant an uncomfortable night. Simply providing a fan should do the trick. Plumbing is also not the best, but that is something that Ken can expect in an old chateau.

First of all, I would like to thank the hostess, Katherine, for a very warm welcome. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted and given a welcome drink on the terrace, which was a very nice gesture. We liked the view of the gardens and swimming pool from the room. The gardens were lovingly maintained with rose bushes, irises and lots of other flowering plants. Having a kitchenette in the room was very handy. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast was nice.

Considering that it was a long holiday weekend (Ascension Day), we expected the swimming pool to be ready for use. Instead we found a swimming pool that had not been cleaned, and which was full of insects and leaves. It also lacked a working filtration system. My children were good sports and cleaned the insects out with a net and proceeded to swim in any case. On our second day the owner did clean the pool and installed a new pump, however this was after several other guests had already arrived. Our room (number 2) was clean and comfortable, but I cannot give a high rating due to the strong sewage smell in the bathroom. Of course the château is old and charming, but the smell was really overpowering at times. We left the windows open during the day and that helped a lot. I hope the bathroom pipes can be cleaned (or replaced) soon, as it would be a pity for other guests to have this unpleasant experience. Overall, the quality did not match the price.
