Very nice and clean and conveniently situated with just a short walk to the harbour.

The Room was lovely, clean and spacious . We only dealt with Liz and she was very friendly and welcoming . I would have given 10 but the pillows needed upgrading .

Excellent experience - will certainly use again when visiting Torquay.

Everything - very clean and comfortable en-suite room with an excellent, freshly cooked breakfast of choice complementing the well stocked breakfast bar. Very engaging and friendly host in Liz. Key fob provided for all door access a great facility. Honesty bar a novel addition, good to learn that profits from which go to charity!

Nothing to dislike - apart from the gradient of the road walking back from the town! (Well beyond the responsibility of the owners)

Very relaxing few days

The property was conveniently located to get into Torquay on foot and also handy to get out to all the interesting and beautiful places and beyond. There are many restaurants and food outlets nearby and good entertainment including theatres. Liz and Paul were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with lovely high ceilings. We had a tv, kettle and tea, coffee etc and a lovely clean and spacious shower room and wc. Our room was quiet and we could access the property at any time with a key fob. There was a self serve mini bar in the lounge which was useful. Breakfast was very nice with a cooked breakfast on offer as well as a self service tea, coffee area with fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt. I particularly enjoyed the Marmite sachets although that might too much for some 😂. My wife and I would definitely go back there when we explore the area more. Thank you Liz and Paul for lovely relaxing stay.

Good for a single night stoppver

Bed was comfortable Room was very small although we paid for not the smallest room We were greeted by the owner

Radiator wasn't on, was cold Credit card payment didn't work had to get cash Car parking was really difficult for our large car Too early checkout 10am Not allowed to exit the guest house with all our bags at the back where the car park is. Had to carry them all the way from the front to the back - husband has a hernia so very hard for us

The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The room and bedding were very clean and the breakfast really good.

The only thing that let it down was the bathroom. It was very small and the bath definitely needs replacing.

Ruined by smoke smells, cigarettes.

It was ok. Breakfast pleasant except the smell of cigarettes on staff

Stank of smoke in entrance hall and corridors despite no smoking signs. Staff obviously heavy smokers as they too smelt strongly of cigarette smoke It was the only thing that spoilt our stay. friendly and welcoming staff

Very pleasant

The room was very clean, spacious and nice. Liz was a very lovely person and host very polite. The breakfast was very good and filling. Will definitely visit again.

It's not something that can be helped due to the type of accommodation and type of room we booked, ( four poster) however my partner found the stairs hard due to an injury. The stairs seemed to be steeper on the second level to our room that little bit more challenging than them on the first level, having said that he was still happy as I was with the overall stay

Lovely B&B in Torquay.

Hotel is lovely, Liz and Paul are excellent hosts and the breakfast was delicious, hot and freshly cooked. Beds very comfy and rooms a fair size. Would definitely recommend.

First of all, it's not 'a didn't like'. It was just me personally and absolutely not anything Liz and Paul did 😊. Shower quite low pressure but still works fine, just takes a little longer to get the shampoo out. The hotel is about halfway up a steep hill and hard going if you are mobility challenged. However, there are options of buses, landtrain or taxis so don't let it stop you. Bear in mind, the hotel doesn't have a lift, so if you are on the top floor, it's stairs all the way.

Perfect hotel and owners.

Our stay at this hotel was perfect. Liz was so accommodating when we needed to leave our bags early due to issues at a previous hotel. She couldn’t have been more friendly and we were so glad we got to stay at Liz and Paul’s hotel. We also booked breakfast which was cooked by Paul and again so accommodating when we required a gluten free breakfast. We cannot thank Liz and Paul enough for making our second nights stay in Torquay so relaxing and comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again when we visit Torquay in the future

Pampered in every way

The breakfast was exceptional, beautifully cooked, the bacon was top quality as was everything, all cooked without frying and being a retired chef I would rate it 10/10 , everything about the Trelawney Guesthouse was top notch nothing was to much and I would recommend it to everyone who is looking to visit Torquay before you book anywhere else to here and if you’re lucky they just might have a room, excellent stay and when we return to Torquay this will be my first point of call

Trelawney hotel/ guest house was lovely, Paul & Liz were very nice and welcoming. The hotel was very clean & comfortable & the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel was very near to the beach & restaurants, overall a very enjoyable stay & would highly recommend.

Awful staff and absolutely horrendous experience

Absolutely nothing

Absolutely would never return to this place. Awful attitude from the owners and one was incredibly rude. Never experienced such a dreadful attitude all because we were 30 minutes late checking out. Would never return here ever which is a real shame as the reviews we read were fantastic. I've stayed in many hotels over the years some good some bad, the attitude we received to a genuine mistake of being late for check out was utterly unbelievable. Would not recommend at all

A really lovely independent hotel, beautiful exterior with an immaculate frontage, lovely hanging baskets, very inviting. Liz was very welcoming. We arrived early and it was not a problem to check in, get our key then we were free to do what we wanted. The room was small but immaculate, perfect for two of us with a reasonable size en suite, tea and coffee facilities in the room. We would definitely recommend and come back again.

Paul and Liz were great hosts. They were very welcoming on check in and when we saw them the day after at breakfast. The room was well decorated and had everything we needed, including a fan as the weather was very warm. Breakfast was lovely too

Really wonderful stay

Immaculate building inside and out, clean comfortable communal areas. Our room was the nicest we've ever had and the bed was extremely comfortable. It's so well organised and they've thought of everything. You even have a security fob so no fumbling with keys!

One of the best holidays I have ever had

Liz and Paul were amazing host i would recommend everyone who is looking for a warm friendly atmosphere to stay at the Trelawney Hotel the rooms where clean and had everything you need if you are short of anything all you need to do is ask. Breakfast was excellent don't just take my word for it try it yourself you will not regret it
