Lovely stay at the Mariners in Torquay

My son and I had such a lovely stay at The Mariners in Torquay. The location couldn’t have been better — everything from the station to the marina was just a short walk away. Dave, our host, was absolutely brilliant. He looked after us so well, gave us really useful tips on what to see and do, and made sure we felt at home throughout our stay. Our room was beautifully decorated, always spotless, and smelt fresh every day. I’m so glad we chose this B&B and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Torquay.

Wonderful Stay, highly recommended!

The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located – just a short walk from both the train station and the town center. The room was spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. The breakfast was excellent, delicious and plentiful. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Torquay.

Lovely 4 night break in this excellent b&b. Fab cooked breakfast, spotless throughout and tasteful decor. Room was a good size and bed was very comfy. Dave was a great host and very attentive with plenty of suggestions on places to go. Highly recommend, thanks Dave!

A lovely stay with a friendly host would stay again

Friendly staff had a good knowledge of what to do in Torquay and where different activities were plus how to get there. Always asked if we were ok at breakfast and how the day was before plus the breakfast was very nice and a good cold selection too

Bed was a little hard but everyone’s preference is different also due to hot weather the cold tap and shower was very hot

Great place to stay in ideal location

Friendly welcome when we arrived, the room is clean and tidy with tea and coffee. The breakfast is served down stairs and the food is good along with the quick service. We had one minor issue that was sorted quickly. They are very helpful with local knowledge. Definitely recommended.

Superb

From start to finish we were made very welcome and recieved a first class service from our hosts. Our room was exceptionally clean and had plenty of tea and coffee and mini packet of haribos for my 8 year old which he loved. The breakfast options were perfect, with plenty of choice. The breakfast was delicious and set us up till lunch time. Great spot, nice walk into Torquay and close to the beach. Our stay was smooth and stress free, we cant wait to come back. Thank you :)

A pleasant overnight stay.

Good central location. Friendly reception from Dave, who provided useful local information. Good breakfast options. Nicely cooked. The Agatha Christie 2nd floor en-suite room is well proportioned and adequately stocked for an overnight stay. It has a small fridge with 2 small water bottles, tea, coffee, biscuits etc. a hairdryer, shower gel, towels. Clean & comfortable.

Not really much of a view, however there is sufficient light coming in and it is not overlooked by neighbours. In a full house it might get noisy, though that was not my experience. No Netflix.

The Mariners was great value for money and excellently located.

The B&B was within easy walking distance of Torre Abbey Sands and also a string of good quality restaurants. The room was equipped with all the necessaries including en-suite, selection of drinks(Teas, coffee, etc), television and a refrigerator. The breakfasts were excellent. Overall great value for money.

Free car parking is available but is limited to first come first serve. However, there is plenty of street parking available and so this was no problem.

Breakfast was very good - choice of full English, eggs on toast, bacon and egg muffin, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, toast. Selection of hot drinks.. Bedrooms, en-suites, breakfast room and hallway all beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Owners very welcoming and friendly. Put sweets in our room each day for the 6 year old child who was with us.

The only change I would like to see would be to iron out the hill from the sea front!!!!!

Fabulous stay

Great location so handy for everything. Very clean and comfortable room, lovely breakfast, loads of choice from the buffet and the cooked breakfasts made to order. Dave was very helpful advising us on days out as were the other guests during our breakfast chats. We had a brilliant 10 days stay. Thank you from Pauline and John
