Couldnt stay place locked no staff. Shocking.

WE arriver at the property at 3.30 there were no staff and reception was locked. We waited 45 minutes before ringing the number which went to answerphone, we left a message no-one called us back. After driving for 6 hours we just wanted to rest but instead we had to find another hotel in Gent. A very distressing episode.

The location was beautiful, the old house surounded by garden and century old trees. Breakfast was decent.

One of the two rooms smelled very weird, due to the small windows there was no way to air it well. The old wardrope was missing a door. Breakfast did not offer any vegetables which is surprising considering it had many types of cheeses and meats.

We had a LOVELY breakfast there! The hotel is a bit far from Ghent where we wanted to be, but the area is absolutely stunning and quiet and we should have arrived earlier at the hotel to walk around the wooded lanes.

We stayed in the cottage. Not as stylish as the rooms of the hotel. Comfortable for two families of 4 each. Top room did not have a double bed though. The kitchen shorted a kettle.

Wonderful, knowledgable staff, stunning property and location. Perfect for people who want to be in

Fascinating location in an old artists colony in the forest. The architecture of the house is wonderful and was designed by the famous painter who built it. The area is super fancy and we somehow managed to get a great price. We tried to stay there on our way back but was a bank holiday weekend and prices more than doubled, though still a great place if we could have afforded it the second time. We will be looking out for more bargains that come up in this magical place.

As it's a bit far out of town and in a very wealthy area , there are not many reasonably priced restaurants nearby

Does not class as a hotel!

The hotel is in a lovely area with high end restaurants within easy walking distance.

This is a hotel - it’s a BandB at best. There’s no staff onsite other than at breakfast / check out time. Nowhere to even get a drink - the only refreshments are what’s in a vending machine. The access code to the back door is sent by email and then you have to find your bedroom! Basically it’s all very very odd. Overnight the bathroom flooded and when we checked out there wasn’t even an apology.

Relaxing

The surroundings of the hotel are fabulous, in a very very calm spot, in the middle of nature, but not far away from city center (by car 15min, by bus is 30min+getting to bus stop).

It's very nice that they have coffee machines in the rooms, and some cookies as well; the coffee machine could have been cleaner, though, especially the water deposit. Also, the pillows were a bit too high for me. Apart from that, everything else was perfect.

beautiful setting, easy to get to Ghent by bicycle. Lovely gardens with sauna and terrace. The staff were very friendly. The room was very pleasant, with a decent shower room.

charming B&B in the former house of an iconic painter mr Servaes - located at the border of the Latem woods

the staff is understaffed and those around not trained and poorly managed. have no feeling with the guests at all. breakfast is poorly managed - we ended up leaving breakfast to find proper fresh bread at a local bakery

Interesting, quiet, and finding it was very satisfying

Location was very cool.Lovely oldish building with good quirky bit and very quiet.Pity there was no restaurant because after 6 hours of the road we did not really want to go out.However the area was full of places to eat. The room unusually no 13 .was just big enough.The lady in reception was charming and we were recognized as humans not numbers.

We get spoilt for choice in Germany when it comes to breakfast and so it was ok but not a wow..

A pleasant place to stay on the outskirts of Ghent

The hotel is in a quiet, peaceful and extremely enchanting location. There is a garden with trees and a pond. It is close to a forest. The room was clean and tidy, although the overall design could have been better (this is especially true of the leopard-coloured carpet on the floor). The bathroom is nice, modern and tastefully done.

The breakfast. When you serve breakfast with a small selection of dishes, it's worth trying to make each dish outstanding, made with local ingredients and really tasty. Bread can be baked right on the spot, the juice should be freshly squeezed, since there is only one kind of juice and not many others to drink. Not so lucky if you ran out of blueberries which were the only berries to make granola. The fruit could have been served better, pre-cut and refreshed frequently. The cheese could have been from a local farmer rather than a mass-market product. And so on, and so forth. Although the table setting, impeccable cleanliness and the vintage feel of the furniture design was pleasing to the eye.

1 night in the holiday house

The house is big, there's a lot of nature around and the place is very quiet. We had a dog with us and we were not charged for it. Due to a promotion the breakfast was included and it was good enough.

The water was yellow, not appropriate to drink, cook or even shower. One of the showers was broken, the other one didn't get warm long enough to one person shower. This unfortunately had a big impact in our staying. The TV didn't work either. They wanted to charge us more for the tourist tax, but this was solved after we showed the app. They also wanted to charge us for breakfast, but in the website is mentioned that in March it was included. This was also solved quickly. It's a good place to rest but there's nothing near by (walking distance). If you're by car, it's near Gent.

Good location, very quiet area, with a lot of greens on the surroundings. We stayed a the holiday house. It is a very spacious house, well equipped. We did not take our dog with us but I know they are pet friendly.
