I would recommend this hotel to stay but not the restaurant to eat - go elsewhere in the town

Staff were very friendly and on arrival and explained things well. Could speak very good english (although we could also speak german.

The restaurant at the hotel was very disappointing. We waited at our table over 15 minutes with no service, menus or drinks. We left in disgust without ordering anything. No one approached us at all with any kind of service and whilst sitting and waiting we could see staff with nothing to do but reluctant to approach us.

Great location and facilities.

The hotel’s restaurant was terrible for having dinner. We had to wait more than an hour for the main course. And with two small kids who were very hungry it got really complicated really fast. The kids at the end were so tired that they almost didn’t eat. The waiter was rude and pretended like he didn’t see us when we tried to get his attention and inquire about our meals. He made us feel very unwelcomed. Since we have a longer car, they made us park in one of the two off site parkings, which were not so close to the hotel

The central location and overall hotel atmosphere were great, and the small sofa corner with a view was a nice detail. H

The location was excellent, very close to the train station and the central area, which made everything easy to reach. The hotel itself had a charming look and feel. Inside the room, I appreciated the little sofa area under the window, which offered a nice view and was a pleasant spot to relax.

The room we were given was extremely small. The washbasin was inside the room itself, the shower area was separated only by a curtain, and the toilet was in a separate small room, which made the setup feel impractical and lacking privacy. There wasn’t enough space to even comfortably open a small suitcase. For a 4-star hotel, I also expected some small touches like snacks or amenities in the room, but even the toilet paper wasn’t placed inside the toilet room, which felt odd.

Great location, eclectic style.

Excellent location, short walk from station, in the old town, fantastic breakfast. Very quiet rooms. Extremely clean. Our room was spacious and had a comfortable lounge. Air-conditioning that worked.

Open bathroom in a room that is designed to sleep 4 people. Heavy polyester quilt, too hot for summer, with a fitted sheet that was a strange knitted fabric that was pilled, so it was not very comfortable. Flat feather pillows (not a specific criticism of this hotel, this seems a Germany wide hotel issue) Rooms are decorated in dark colours, and the whole hotel aims for an eclectic, funky style at the expense of quality bedlinen.

Good hotel in centre of Fussen

Brilliant central location with pre booked parking which was excellent. Room was a good size. The shower room was small and after the two of us had a shower felt a bit like an Amazonian rain forest. We had a small balcony which was a lovely place to relax.

The rooms were not well sound proofed and it is a family hotel. We could hear the shower / toilet in the adjacent room. The pillows were impossible. We tried folding them in half and even quarters. My main issue is the hotel takes a charge on your card before you arrive. Then when you check out it separately takes full payment. I had to contact the hotel later in the day to get them to release the hold…it was about €450 so not a small amount. Very frustrating.

Lovely hotel in a great location

A lovely hotel centrally located in the old town of Fuessen, just a few minutes drive from Neuschwanstein castle. We had a family room suitable for 4 people which was surprisingly spacious. Very good breakfast.

Great stay in Füssen at a lovely hotel.

Great location. Right next to the train station and close to the square. The hotel restaurant food was very good and the breakfast was fantastic! It was probably one of the best breakfast options we’ve had on our trip.

AC doesn’t work great but they did provide a fan. The fan had a timer on it so we woke up ever 1.5 hours hot and restarted the fan. The AC may be fine for some, we are just very hot natured. Staff were very responsive and quick to bring the fan.

A lovely stay.

Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Great location right in the main town by all the restaurants. Loved the decor and layout. Staff excellent.

Not a dislike but be aware you need to book the underground car park early or it fills up. But they have another one 2 minutes walk.

There was a discrepancy in the booking--an error apparently made between Booking.com and the company handling Hotel Sonne's bookings (whose email address is Lithuanian). At breakfast the first morning, we were alerted that they showed the room to be booked for 3 people (not 2, which our confirmation from booking.com showed). The staff provided us with print-outs from their intermediary booking company, but said they could do nothing further and that we should follow-up with Booking.com. I've never had this problem before, but it clearly should not be my responsibility to work out this error--something I had nothing to do with, but wound up having to pay for. The other negative was the parking--I had to back into a tiny space on a two-tiered elevator (very tricky to do) and to notify staff each time I needed to go in or out so they could raise the elevator so my car was at ground level On the last day, as I was parking, the attendant told me they could have moved us to a different parking spot a few days earlier--that did not require the elevator--but by then it was too late.

Modern hotel in Füssen City Center

Nice, modern hotel with a great sauna area! Elevator and parking garage (€12/night). Great breakfast with omelette bar and various hot & cold options. Comfortable beds & rooms. Mine had a balcony with a wonderful view of the Alps. Modern bath with walk-in shower. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

Great location, easy walk from the train station. Great restaurant with a variety of food and live music on the nights we were there. Located right next to the shopping area of Fussen.

The shower is open (no door) so there is no privacy, no tub if you need to bathe small children.
